  4. Official now. This is a big step down of course, even from the Saudi league. But probably the right move to get playing time and perhaps reignite what is left of his career. http://www.rayookc.com/news/2016/03/10/rayo-okc-signs-greek-national-team-member-georgios-samaras

  5. Tzavellas, to me, needs to play as LB. He's been better this year, but this year has been nearly as bad as last year. I really like Vitor, and I have nothing against Konstantinidis apart from his being supremely fragile. I think Kitsiou is still better offensively, but Konstantinidis does have fire (and GOOD GOD that acceleration!). If we have him next season, and he doesn't have yet another season-ending injury, I'll allow myself to get excited about him. Chatziisaias looks pretty good too. I just didn't include him because his name needs to be changed.

  6. One of the many problems of Greek soccer is the fact that the last 60+ years only four teams (and Larisa after a mini civil war) have won a championship. Recently, minus a short interval when PAO spent real money and then went bankrupt, OSFP dominated the league year after year. These championships are becoming boring; we could as well watch the Christians fight (so to speak) the lions. If one looks at other leagues, one would see models that try to to make sure that the differences between the clubs remain small. E.g., 1) In the USA (la fuente de toda sabiduria) the professional leagues impose upper/lower limits to the money that every team in the league can/must spend. 2) As of 2013 the Bundesliga adopted rules concerning income sharing from advertising. The new rules aim to help financially the teams that need infusions of moolah in order to remain competitive. Who, with a working mind, would like to follow a championship such that the outcome is known before the season starts? And what would be the value of a championship won against teams that could not afford to be competitive?

  7. Our backline requires the most attention, I'd bring Poungouras back into the squad after a solid season with Veria and sign a quality centre-back. Vellidis/Glykos are fine for now, bringing in a better keeper is not a priority. I like our midfield, sign a player to rotate with Pelkas or play Pereyra in that role. Sign an attacking wide player, I'm not sold on Jairo and get a hungry forward that can bang some goals in. GK Vellidis Glykos Melissas CB Chatzisaias Vitor Poungouras New Signing RB Kitsiou Konstantinidis LB Tzavellas Leovac CM Charisis Cimirot Antonis Tziolis CAM Pelkas Pereyra/New Signing W Mak Rodrigues Mystakidis New Signing ST Klaus Koulouris New Signing On thin ice Skondras (sad because he was a great player for us last season) Jairo Korovesis Sabo Malezas Gone Kace Golasa Berbatov

  8. He may be right or wrong BUT atleast he is making suggestions while others fix matches and fill their pockets. It SHOULD NOT be left to owners of clubs to improve the league, this is EPO and the Super League job to do and what have they done? F*** all as they seem to enjoy having a mediocre league where we are laughed at by the rest of the world.

  9. If Savvidis had half a brain he would have kept Tudor until the end of the season and then let him go. It would be a calculated risk that in keeping Tudor you wouldn't miss out on the play-offs, but realistically the odds of making the playoffs are better than not making them. The squad is ... good enough ... to at least do that I would think. Now, all of the above is based on the assumption that Savvidis will try and sign a "class" manager. If his intention is to keep Ivic or just get a whatever manager then his decision is fine. But if his intention is to attempt to sign a class manager then he has grossly miscalculated and it will fail. It will fail because the prospective manager will look at the record of the previous 4 seasons and think, f**k that, this club has no stability. So once again Savvidis will have to sign whoever he can. If he somehow finds a manager with pedigree, it will be someone like Huub who has the name but doesn't really "have it" anymore which in reality means he's not really signing a class manager but a has been. Let's see if Savvidis can make it 5 out 5 next season. Bravo idiot.

  10. Arnold is a F***en tosser, I could tell you stories of how he has destroyed Greek players careers here and also told a certain family of brothers they would never play for the NT ever again when they were all at the old Northern Spirit team and what do you know those guys never played for the NT even when one of them was best player in the country. But if you are part of the clicka here you will always get gigs to coach

  12. One can evaluate a season just by looking at the presence of the same coach as in the beginning of the season. Therefore this is again a bad (or lost as Blackhawk mentioned) season. Yet again. It is becoming a stupid habit in Greece in general and for PAOK in particular.

  13. The best Center back in Serie A, and one of the best Center backs in Bundesliga, are not better than two center backs that play in some Asian League... Did I read that right?

  16. I was sitting behind the benches and can definitely recall a few men in suits walking over to the olympiakos bench after the 3-0 went in after 15 minutes, Oly noticeably dropped off from that point on, none of us know what was said but you would think the message went out to them to cool off, if they were allowed to go at it for 90 minutes I have no doubt they would have put 10 past victory. I'm not gonna lie most gsl games are painful to sit through, entertainment wise the A league probably wins out, the thing is the new dawners actually think that makes the Australian league better, I remember the argument a few years ago that Brisbane roar would beat Stoke city cos they play better football and Stoke just hoof it, these clowns of course failing to realise that technically every Stoke player was on average 5 levels above the quality of an A league player and the difference being that Tony pulis directed his team to play that style, just because a team plays long ball it doesn't mean they have garbage players, but that's the level of idiots we are dealing with here. Aek proved the sheer gulf in technical ability when they came here. In fact you would notice in this country we always go through phases, first it was the Dutch craze, now Spanish is all the rage, when Ange postecoglou was coaching Brisbane playing a long ball was considered a sin, this year it's all about flares...we go through these little annoying buzz stages. Meanwhile in the real world of football (Europe) teams are scraping for titles, European spots and throwing everything on the line to avoid relegation, whilst here the same bat s%$#! boring teams play eachother every 3 weeks and teams like central coast can lose 100 games in a row and still be in the top flight. The latest classic on Fornaroli is a laugh, apparently he couldn't score goals in Greece because panathinaikos never had a midfielder of the caliber of Aaron mooy to feed him LOL...the same Aaron mooy that couldn't cut it in Scotland ffs. Honestly sometimes I wish we could just press the reset button and go back to the 90s and have the NSL, at least we enjoyed it for what it was and never compared our local heroes to global players or our clubs to global giants, here in Melbourne we all loved Paul Trimboli for eg but nobody would ever claim he was world class or anything, he was just a gun for Australian soccer and we loved him for it, I miss those days when everything felt real, nowadays everyone is trapped in fantasy land and listening to it does my head in.

  17. There is no refund as far as I know. I would hope that sometimes those affected fans would launch a legal action to collect their money.

  18. Mak is suspended for four matches. And PAOK must play in an empty Toumba against Kalloni. This is our punishment for the match against Atromitos. Question: If Mak is suspended for four matches, howmany games is ref Pappas suspended by EPO??
