That’s true @georgelaz our difference makers are always injured. Papadopoulos heading can be a difference maker. Stafylidis long shots are dangerous and Donis speed and skill is very good. @Ellada2004 We always show up against opposition better than us. Though we drew against and lost against Belgium and we drew twice to. Bosnia. Not good enough in my opinion of you want to make tournaments. It was a great effort though on those 2 matches. @J1078 I agree with what you said. Our players aren’t good enough and haven’t adapted with the time and other aren’t simply good enough. Our midfielders are slow and are not creative. Fortounis is our only hope in this department and even he is not all that. With goal scoring we are relying on Mitroglou because he is the only one that score and no else. Also maybe Fortounis aswell but he is trying to create most of the time. Our wide players are not wide players and aren’t good enough as players to play there. Our actual wingers are still young. So I don’t see any inspiration really from our side. Our defence is good but they can only do so much.

Apart from : Galanopoulos in the midfield Masouras, Lamprou( i ve been talking about him long before he started producing so well in Netherlands, Its not like Im blindfolded from some youth scoring some goals), Limnios on the wings, Maybe Vrousai if he gets chances in bigger teams/leagues. Koutris on the back Koulouris We have noone else to introduce to the team for the next 1,5 year. Hopefully the Sokratis/Manolas duo still stands till the Euros. Torosidis missing will be a huge problem but Retsos can stay there in the matches vs better opponents and he is defensively good. I prefer Stafylidis as a starter his team is doing s%$#! but the fact that immediately after his injury he was given a starter spot and barely misses playing time shows he s worhty of midable bundesliga. Id like a 3-5-2 since our fullbacks are either too good offensively and mediocre on the back( Koutris,Stafylidis- even holebas with his so rumored return) . No proper right back with torosidis actually seeming too little even for Olympiakos back up, so maybe put a winger on the right with lungs and man to man like Limnios. Definately sub him after 60 because he ll be dead. Hope Anastasiadis changes stuff. Even if it doesnt end up as we d like to. I think this team needs a restart. I wouldnt judge him bad if he failed trying to change. I would criticise a lot if he kept the same s%$#! and hoped something changed on its own.

Can you imagine what would've happened if it was a Greek referee ? Mafia Marinakis would've been blamed for everything. Fans rioting etc. No thanks. I'd rather have a foreign referee even if he is twice as bad as the Greek referee. Λίγοι το πρόσεξαν, αλλά η φάση του αγώνα έγινε στο 86': Ο Velez μόλις έχει σκοράρει, τα μεμέτια στις κερκίδες κοιτούν αποσβολωμένα και ο Βαλεριάνος παίρνει την μπάλα από τα δίχτυα και τρέχει για να την τοποθετήσει στη σέντρα!

Τα συμπεράσματα από το χθεσινό ντέρμπι για εμάς: 1. Η ομάδα δεν ψάρωσε ούτε από την καυτή έδρα και τα γνωστα καφριλίκια της Τούμπας ούτε από την δήθεν άτρωτη ομαδάρα που θα μας έκανε κόσκινο. 2. Πίεση ψηλά από όλους, ο Ντιγκινί αμυντικά λειτουργούσε ως χαφ και όχι ως φορ, έτσι κερδίσαμε έναν παίκτη στο κέντρο, με αποτέλεσμα τα σέντερ μπακ τους να μην μπορούν να συμβάλουν στην ανάπτυξη του παιχνιδιού από τον άξονα 3. Εξαιρετική ανασταλτικά η αριστερή μας πλευρά (Korhut, Larsson) και με αρκετά τρεξίματα μπροστά. 4. Επιμένω ότι Matilla-Σιώπης είναι το δίδυμο στο κέντρο που πρέπει να ξεκινάει ενδεκάδα, χθες ήταν εξαιρετικοί και οι δύο 5. Αποκάλυψη ο Rose, ο άνθρωπος ήρθε χωρίς βαρύ βιογραφικό και εμπειρίες και καθιερώθηκε άμεσα ως το ακλόνητο στόπερ. Πολύ καλό δίδυμο με τον παικταρά Velez που σπεσιαλιτέ του να βγαίνει πρώτος στην μπάλα, ενώ συμμετέχει ενεργά και στην ανάπτυξη του παιχνιδιού μας. 6. Γενικότερα τυχερός ο Παντελίδης που του έχουν βγει οι παίκτες που πήραμε τον Ιανουάριο, σπάνια συμβαίνει αυτό στο μέσο της σεζόν. 7. Η ομάδα ήταν πολύ συμπαγής, δεν επέτρεψε να μας κάνουν ούτε μία ευκαιρία μέσα από την περιοχή, συνολικά έκαναν 5 ή 6 τελικές, όλες εκτός περιοχής και, πλην του γκολ, όλες στα περιστέρια. 8. Όπως και στο ματς κυπέλλου (1-1) κάναμε αρκετές τελικές με καλές προϋποθέσεις, αλλά ήμασταν άστοχοι. Αυτή η αστοχία έχει κοστίσει βαθμούς στα ντέρμπι (συνυπολογίστε και τα χαμένα πέναλτι) όλη τη σεζόν. 9. Και που να φανταστούμε ποια θα ήταν η εικόνα του ματς με τον Άρη πλήρη και χωρίς απουσίες παικτών όπως Bruno Gama, Tonso, Φετφατζίδης, Basha, που ακόμη και αν δεν ξεκινούσαν 11άδα θα ήταν εξαιρετικές αλλαγές όταν μοιραία κουράστηκαν τα χαφ και οι επιθετικοί μας. Κι ένα εξτραδάκι για τη διαιτησία: 10. 50-50% διαιτησία στην Τούμπα δεν θυμάμαι να έχω ξαναδεί, όχι μόνον με αντίπαλο τον Άρη, αλλά με οποιονδήποτε. Εκεί που ο Νορβηγός δεν μάσησε όταν έπεφταν μόνοι τους έξω από την περιοχή μας, οι αντίστοιχοι Έλληνες διαιτητές θα σφύριζαν τα ανύπαρκτα φάουλ και θα μοίραζαν κίτρινες (κάπως έτσι δημιουργήθηκε ο μύθος της δύσκολης έδρας εδώ και 30 περίπου χρόνια). Δεν του καταλογίζω σκοπιμότητα που χάρισε τη δεύτερη κίτρινη στον χοντροκώλη με το άφρο μαλλί για την κλωτσιά στον Korhut που έβγαινε μόνος από αριστερά σε αντεπίθεση. I am very hopeful this time will get into the Euro after missing the last two major tournaments. Skibbe is out and coach Ange should have better callups and a better system working with the likes of Basinas and now to with Giannakopoulos joining the coaching staff. Our toughest test will be Italy as they play a similar defensive style so that will be an interesting chess match plus Greece have not played them in along time. Even though Italy is not at the top of there game I expect them to be very hungry and determined with all the pressure they are under from there fans and the media in Italy to not miss another major tournament. Bosnia as I said if we play smart and stifle there playmakers and wait for our chance to hit them for a goal then I believe will get a result on match day 2. Greece are very familiar with them and that will help. Finland are improving but who do they have in there starting 11 that is a threat? The only player I can think of is Teemu Pukki but he is no Jari Litmanen. Armenia should be six points in the bank if the team is focused. Liechtenstein will be the door mat of the group but hopefully here Greece can squeeze out a few 2 or 3 nil wins.

I hope you’re right bro.. The problem is we don’t have a set line up and system and it will be tough to figure all of these things out in such a big Tourney.. We are going in not knowing what style of play we are going to play or which players will start and that will take time to come together it doesn’t happen overnight..

Ακριβώς... 1. Απίστευτες ελλείψεις εμείς, υπερπλήρεις αυτοί. 2. Πενταπλάσιο μπάτζετ αυτοί. 3. Πριν το ματς όχι θα μας διαλύσουν, όχι θα μας ξεσκίσουν, όχι θα μας γελοιοποιήσουν, όχι 7-0, όχι 2-0 ημίχρονο, 4-1 τελικο....Τέτοιες μαλακίες λέγανε... 4. Και τελικά αφού πήραν τα παπάρια μας, τώρα λένε ότι ισοφαρίσαμε με γκολ οφσάιντ... Και ότι αυτοί δεν παιξανε καλά και ήταν νωθροί και βαριοντανε και καλά... (παρά το ότι κάποιοι παιχτες τους ήδη δήλωσαν ότι ΘΕΛΑΝΕ ΝΑ ΚΕΡΔΙΣΟΥΝ ΦΥΣΙΚΑ ΑΛΛΑ ΔΕ ΜΠΟΡΕΣΑΝ)... Πιο ξεφτίλας και ξετσίπωτος πεθαίνεις...

Guys Greece are not that far off. They went into Belgium against one of the best sides in the world and were a few minutes from a victory while reduced to 10 men. We were a playoff round away from getting to the World Cup and lost to a very technical and skilled Croatia. The team lost the first leg due to the corrupt decision of FIFA to suspend Manolas and Skibbes stupidities were to much to overcome. Bosnia are a good side but many so called "pundits" expected them to come in 2nd last time around and they didn't. The same Bosnia also went into Belgium and got pasted 4-0 and lost to Belgium's B side in Zenica again giving up 4 goals. The Bosnians have good attacking players but once again there attention to defensive side of the game will be there downfall.

I have to agree with everything you said. If you think about it’s true. Debating whether Samaris, Kourbelis or Galanopoulos to start is like beating a dead horse. None of them are difference makers. We are very weak in this department. More than the wing. The wing is very bad also. We can’t just rely on Mitroglou either. He goes missing most of the time. As you said we need huge luck for us to qualify. I don’t see us realistically qualifying for the Euros. We should just completely revamp the team and set us up for the future. Lamprou is in form. Chatzigiovannis and Bouzoukis have led Panathinaikos this season. Donis is our future and Koutris can be our left back for the next 5-10 years. I like Kyriakopoulos aswell. Some of these players are not completely there yet in their careers but we haven’t made tournaments with Mantalos, Bakasetas, Pelkas, Samaris, Tachtsidis and so on. We always say If we beat Bosnia we will qualify. But don’t forget that Italy is involved and we don’t do that good against smaller teams. This team needs to be treated more than what it is. Like a club. Management or whatever should be tracking our players continuously and making sure they follow their routines and are playing and also helping them. It has to be run like it’s a number 1 priority.

Slightly sobering but I think we don't have the players good enough to qualify unless we get a lot of luck favoured on our side. Our wings and cm are simply not good enough for the modern game. We're 'okay'. Best Greek players right now are Manolas, Sokratis, Holebas, Fortounis, Vlachodimos 5 decent players is not enough for knock out round tourny football. We will simply be 'competitive' in qualifeirs. The euro 2004 team was much better and Greek league was much better too. AEK/PAO/OLY were all competitive in champions league. This is first time I'm saying this as I'm often more optimistic for qualifying. Italy/Bosnia/Finland will all give us troubles.
