Hi there, Greetings from Bulgaria! My name is Ivo, big fan of Berba for a long time now. I've been "following" him wherever he goes and I am glad he went to PAOK, only 4 hours drive away from Sofia. :) You can expect many Bulgarian fans now, not only online, but most probably at Toumba too. Saw some of the live stream from the stadium today and I must say I am quite impressed - not only by the amazing warm welcome from the fans but also by the work from the club which developed Berba related branding at Toumba, made Tshirts available for pre-order, updated the player's profile on the website and all that in practically no time! Wow! I hear that Mr. Savvidis really wanted him - Berbatov is a kind of guy that needs to feel wanted and special, so I think that's the reason he joined in, not because Aston Villa offered less cash. How did Berba do today? He seemed happy and honest to me. Although, that "we are brothers" part was a bit too much, perhaps - I know you guys don't really see us as brothers and I get it. When I go on holidays to Chalkidiki, I am usually ashamed of the particular Bulgarians that go there. :) Anyway, Berba is a different story, I am sure he'll do great things here and make us all proud. Your expectations must be quite high taking into account the 1.6 million + bonuses that you are paying. In his last season with Monaco, he got even slower with age but hopefully his other skills will compensate that. He's never been a runner, after all. He's known for his finishing abilities yet you will see that he's even more useful for building attacks - always taking the right decisions. All good teams defend as a unit and attack as a unit. The Greece that used to shutout teams could defend as a unit and we always found a way to score at least 1 goal. We've gone from a team that never conceded, to one that is now guaranteed to at least concede or gift 1 goal to the opposition every match. In the 2014 WC qualifiers we had 4 goals against in 10 games. and If you take the Bosnia 3-1 loss out, that's just 1 goal conceded in 9 matches. Reasons? There are many. I personally wouldnt mind Samara, I think he has the attributes of the player we need, when fit. Just the mention of Papadopoulo however brings me nausea.

I think we will win this game. Kodrero is back and so will Mantalos. But I have to agree about the fans. I don't expect more than 9000!!!!

Yeah, I copped a bout of Boston Thanatositis as well. What can you do ? If you're a PAOK fan, your first natural impulse is to be cynical. Having said that, I am impressed that we even managed to sign him and more importantly got him into the squad for the EL Group Stages. I'm just not used to PAOK being organised and professional. As for Berbatov, assuming he stays injury free, I can only see mostly positives. You could argue that the money spent on his salary could've been spent on other prospects, and you'd have a point. However, he will increase revenue via merchandise sales and increased attendance at Toumba and the GSL in general. I know I'd love to see him in person. He's one of the few footballers who's got that old school 80's style about him, when the game was more about skill that physicality. In truth, his skill and composure is outrageous. He'll also be a good influence on someone like Pelkas who's game is based around skill.

Don't forget he is a PAO PLAYER. You have called names on half our team. Unacceptable

Xanthi and giannena as well, are very well coached. The giannena coach took tudor's shorts. Just because you opt for a 3-5-2 doesn't mean you know how to play it. If you don't know, then i wouldn't touch it. The 3man defense is hard to implement. To beat these sides that aren't going to give you much space, you need a fox in the box. Aek don't have someone of this nature, neither do paok. Well there's klaus, but i think tudor ousted him. Mak is a great player but needs some space to go to work. When a sides sits, i would employ him out wide. When a side plays a high line, he needs to play upfront like we saw against brondby. Everyone blames anastasiou, myself included when he deserves it offcourse but he is adamant on playing two strikers up front and it shows balls. The gavroi are pussies for going with one striker, especially in this league.

Obviously PAO can't and won't finish first. Battle for second between them , PAOK and AEK will be near there as well. No matter how one hopes for things to change they always stay the same , apart ofcourse from the quality of the football in the entire league gets worse every Season.
