This week is one of them most critical in PAOK's history. After the General Assembly and the refusal by Goumenos not to step down, I see things going downhill from here. Goumenos is fighting back, but does not have money. The only way he can survive now is to sell players.

It is very important to put any possible legal pressure on Goumenos to step down.

This whole goumenos saga is going to end with PAOK getting screwed something terrible. Apparently goumenos is too scared to go to the PAE office to take over the running of the club. This guy has to be forced out of the club today not tomorow.

From now on Goumenos can expect pressure from many directions. For starters, the players declared a strike and will not take part in any practices starting today.

In other developments today, the organized fan clubs held an emergency meeting and decided the following:

1. Organize the minority share holders to take legal action against Goumenos for past actions

2. Give the members of the PAE PAOK board until next Monday to resign, otherwise legal action will be taken against them as well.

3. Organize protests, starting after the game with Iraklis (Round 2 of the Super League), with a procession to the Ministry of Makedonias-Thrakis. Also organize a PAOK fans protest during the opening of the Thessaloniki International Fair.

4. Demand from AS PAOK to evict PAE PAOK offices and the the PAOK soccer team from Toumba Stadium.

Goumenos gave a lengthy interview on SuperSportFM today claiming that he is selling for the team "one Euro".

You can read excerpts here. Interesting thing is that he would give this inteview on Athenian radio station instead of on Thessaloniki station. Last time I checked PAOK was based in Thessaloniki.

Goumenos somehow got the cash to pay 30% of the players wages. He clams that by the end of August he will have paid 100% of the wages, and will be in position to step down and let a group liked by the fans run the club, however, he will remain as major shareholder. This probably means that he has already agreed to sell Salpi, or he could have found someone willing to invest.

Time will tell....

Latest news has Nikos Berzitsis former PAOK KAE owner interested in leading a syndicate to run PAOK. He has stipulated some conditions, for Goumenos and Pagonis. He wants them both not to be involved in the decision making of the club, he wants them to sell their shares should a buyer come up in the next few months, and he does not want to sell Salppi as he sais that the player is worth much more than the money being offered in Athens.

He will be having discussions with Goumenos on this today, and has warned him not to make any stupid demands.

Also rumour in Thessaloniki is that the resignation of Giorgos Kasimatis from the PAOK board has something to do with the sale of Salpi.

Sorry guys I have been out of the loop since I am on vacation currently in Florida and don't have much time for inetrnet. Yes Vezyrtzis has shown ineterst to step in in order for things to calm down. Hopefully this is the first step from removing Goumenos from power.

apparently both goumeno's bezurtzi's cars were also set upon by angry fans.

goumeno will end up relinquishing his position.

the fans r starting to rebel against goumeno. there wont be many fans @ the match against the gries either (so he doesnt get any ticket sales). there will be more people outside the ground. standard PAOK tactics. we need to go harder unfortunately to bring him down.

i just hope he leaves before he sells fernandez
