PAOK boss resigns his post

Yiannis Youmenos and board depart as Thessaloniki club’s poor financial state intensifies

The administration of cash-strapped Thessaloniki soccer club PAOK resigned yesterday amid precarious financial conditions that threaten to oust the historic team, one of the country’s biggest, from professional competition.

The outgoing president, Yiannis Youmenos, who arrived at PAOK late in 2003 with a considerable background in insurance and stock-broking, had been ushered in by former coach Angelos Anastassiadis, currently in charge of the Cypriot national team.

Just watched "Oi Fakeloi" on MEGA which showed PAOK and Goumenos.

Its not looking good. The main thing that F***ed us was when Goumenos borrowed money from banks to pay off other debts which seemed all good until the banks put their interest up to 140%. Bastards!

I have spoken to a few PAOKia who believe that we are going to D Ethniki.

All we can do is hope that someone will come and pay Goumenos for his shares and pay off the reamainding debt. Lets face it. We need a miracle.

I watched the "Fakeli" on Mega Cosmos an hour ago too. Very nice presentation in my opinion.

paok4, the 140% interests are not from banks, but are from the Greek government on money (taxes) that PAOK owes the state. That is a big part of the 33 million Euro PAOK debt. It is similar to AEK's debt that totalled over 100 million Euro, which was almost completely erased with the help of the government and the arthro 44. Only similar intervention can save PAOK from D' Division.
