kisskiss
Final score 1-0. Nilsson had a solid game - defended well was virtually flawless all match. Sure it was only a friendly but considering he's coming back from injury it was a very encouraging display and will help heaps on that right side .... Malezani would be very happy with his display. There was a time in the 2nd half when he made a run down the left touchline that reminded me of Seitaridis - with more games under his belt I'm certain we'll see him do this often. Had no strikers upfront and that meant players like Wooter, Bides & Gandzev (in the 2nd half) had to provide that edge. Most of our attempts on goal were shots from outside the area and most of them were either too weak or off target. Well done to the young Gandzev for the goal - he made himself available in the penalty area and took his opportunity well. He could've scored another from a header a few minutes after but his effort was skewed. Hopefully he'll be given more chances to showcase his skills in the Greek league and Cup. Siimitras did OK though he was very shaky when he had to clear the ball from backpasses - there were a couple of times when he miskicked the ball and put the team in a bit of bother. In saying that he did do some nice saves to keep the scoresheet at zero especially in 1 on 1 situations. At times the team played some very nice one touch ball moving it around fluently trying to muster something but of course due to the lack of service upfront those plays more or less broke down. It was great to see that type of play as this is what Malezani has been trying to drill into the team since pre-season. All it needs is a bit of time for the players to adjust to this play and get used to everyones game. If the usual starting 11 can play this type of game (which I'm positive they can) then we'll see some nice football.
