PAO's latest signing was proposed by his agent to play for Wisla last year but he was to weak. Than he moved to Palace.

Info from press conference.

Morris will be the PAO's captain tomorrow, Olisadebe will play in the first 11. Malesani consider Wisla as very strong team. Rest of the conference is blah blah blah :) Little bit about Wisla's stadium that it's better than few years ago when Malesani was in Cracow with Parma.

Cut the bullshit mate.

Your team is nothing. I never heard of your team. What have you ever done in Europe?

Did you ever do anything in the Uefa cup ?

Tomorrow you are going to learn what Pao is doing in Europe for so long.

All you Wisla funs say don't underestimate our Polish team.

Ok, we won't. But it is very clear that you are underestimating us.

Many many teams didn't know what hit them when they face us.

And

Whar if you bring 16.000 people??? Is that a huge crowd?? Wait to see in the second leg how many funs we are going to bring in the 74.000 capacity stadium.

Only possible changes I see, are:

Theodoridis/Papa for Wooter

Papa for Manoli

Maybe as subs ;)

When Nilsson takes over Bidis

and Gonzo over Wooter,

we will only need another CB to be in pretty good shape.

That's why I get so frustrated that we let Kapsis go to the "psaria"

Not to forget that Kyrgiakos could have very well filled that spot, as well!

PEACE

Kapsis is good but hes aging ......so what the psarakia got him....we could do 2x that and get TRAINOS TRELLA-S

oh that would be too good........ :hypocrite:

anybody know why Nilsson wasnt even used in the Zaragoza match? i was hoping we could see him in Krakov

You cannot underestimate any team whether we think they're below or above average. Anything can happen. Just look at Celtic's failure.

PAO has made many changes on the pitch so the players require some time to click and get results.

I predict a 2-1 PAO win with a very tough fight and winning it on a penalty.

Boys why did PAO release Bykowski? He showed good prospect.

Because he was an average player and didnt do much....

granted he played well when he got the chance but i feel they may have wanted someone with a better impact then him, comming of the bench ;)

No way will they score, defense too good, will we score though?

Our defense is good yes, however with Goumas injured and out (our captian and probably our best defender), there will be a couple of problems in the back. Nillson and Eki will also be out for this game and while we have some depth at midfield, it's obviously won't be as good as if Nilson, Eki, and Goumas would play.

My hopeful lineup (4-3-1-2):

------------------Galinovic--------

Vyntra----Morris-------Kotsios------Seric

--------Haralambides---Flavio---Biscan----------

---------------------Mantizos---------------------

--------Papadopoulos------Gekkas------

As long as the back 4 can go 90 minutes (and play) I won't be too worried. 1-1 draw in Krakow, 3-1 win in OAKA. Onto the group stage (along with Anorthosis Famagusta)!! :D :nw: :gr:

PAO: United in Defense and Offence

Today, Alberto Malezani gave his first official Press interview in Poland, in view of the tomorrow’s game between Panathinaikos and Wisla Krakow for the Champions League preliminaries. The Italian coach was not reserved with the Polish journalists, but not especially revealing either. He stated that Olisadebe will play in tomorrow’s game, but kept his impressions over Wisla and how he would counter it to himself and his team. "We have watched Wisla and have learned a lot about our opponent but we won’t discuss anything further," he said and proceeded with comments about Panathinaikos:" I wouldn’t describe my coaching technique as defensive. I prefer defense but I believe that offense should be brought forward. I want teamwork, 11 players on defense and 11 players on offence, a united team."

i feel confident in Malezania and now ill suggest either 1-0 or 2-0 Pao :nw:

I agree with anyone being cautious. Look at what happened at Euro when Ellas were not taken seriously, however your Celtic example doesn’t hold true.

Scottish football is weak. This is why I don’t understand why Kyrgiakos and now Fyssas want to play there. Obviously only for the squids (pound).

Gone are the days when Scottish teams were feared. Celtic were lucky and made a UEFA final 2 seasons ago. Galatasaray went one step further and they don’t get nearly the respect compared to Celtic and Rangers.

Celtic and Rangers play in a league that is even worse than the A’ Ethniki and I challenge anyone who disagrees with me.

Their pitches maybe greener and smoother and some of their players might get paid more, but the standard of football they display week by week is INFERIOR to the Greek league and probably a lot more leagues in Europe.

I will just laugh if Anorthosis make Rangers look like the overrated losers they are.

Anyway…I had my say.

PAO should do enough over the 2 legs to go through against Wisla.

PAO will get a draw. They know how to play in Europe. The 1-3 loss prediction by Protathlitis is obviously an incorrect post - it should be for Olympiakos' first away game in the Champions League (regardless of who the opponent will be).

PAO in Europe is a funny old team, we can match up with the best of them and we can lose against the worst of them. To me, Wisla is the worst of them, easiest opponent in Europe since Litex in 2002 (I think thats when and who we played). That was a funny old match cause we only won by 2 goals on agg.

This should be easy, but Pao is always the team that makes it hard.
