Can I vote for Pele as #2?

Which European Federation did he play for?

I was under the impression that I had made it clear that I am not a psychic and cannot recreate the state of mind of other people. At best, when the stars are aligned, I manage to understand what they wrote!

Anyway, I was left agape when I read

Vote for legends like DiStefano, Puskas and Yashin. Then vote for modern day stars like Kahn, Cannavaro and Owen.

any of whom might qualify on a good day to tie the shoes of the #1 one player of all times, latitudes and longitudes whose first name happens to be Diego. He too, I guess, did not play in Europe!

I cannot imagine that there were 42 footballers that were better than Sir Stanley Matthews!

This is a popular vote, isn't it? Hey, the same people have made the likes of Madonna, Brittany Spears and Grandmaster BamJam (I made this name up, but you understand...) idols (and millionares), what do you expect them to vote?

Players who should have been in the top 50 from the 51-100 list:

Stoichkov,

Mazzola,

Banks

and possibly Boniek.

Kocsis and Boszik also deserved higher spots.

Thierry Henry should make the top 50 before he retires.

David Beckham in 22nd place ahead of Moore, Matthews and the others I mentioned in my previous post...

I think these polls need to be weighted to give older players and Eastern European players a more accurate vote. Young Western Europeans voters are far too over-represented in these polls.

One thing the poll got right was naming Bobby Charlton ahead of any other Brit (Beckham, Best, etc.).

A true team player who played the game without any fanfare but truly was the heart and soul of that great Man. Utd. team of the mid - late 1960's.
