Barkas signed a four-year contract at Scottish Premier League champions Celtic. Good for him. And AEK who gets £ 5 mil + bonusses.

Was going through the sports channels and noticed that Barkas was playing for Celtic against Milan.  The commentators couldn't stop criticizing him, blaming him for goals.  Turned game off.

Ya not a good performance but Celtic can’t defend well either.

Having him being the scapegoat for a Celtic team that has conceded like 30 goals this season so far is pretty awful and unfair. They can't defend s%$#! and blaming in on the keeper.

He lost his spot up until 2-3 games ago, he played a cup game on the weekend (which they lost) and obviously today against Milan.

Reading around some Celtic fans seem to think he has been treated unfairly and not given a fair go at establishing himself as their no.1. They seem to think he conceded a goal that he should've done better on against Rangers and that is sacrilegious in Scotland. Celtic lost that game and Barkas only lasted another game or 2 before being dropped.

It's not going well for him at all, confidence is everything as a GK and currently Barkas has none. I'm not sure if Celtic under it's current management will ever be the place for him.

Their coach will be probably sacked sooner than later, they already embarrased themselves in the europa league, missed the cl, knocked out of league cup and are 10 points behind rangers in the local league.

basically he should already have left when he dropped barkas but his replacement was still conceding like 2-3 goals per game and that simply indicates it's not the keeper who's at fault but defense and mainly the coach.

hard to believe they will do any better if they find a new keeper in january unless they are delusional which seems they are if they still keep the same manager.

Barkas has no hopes of playing in Scotland and agreed to join FC Utrecht on a loan base. Another Greek in the Eredivisie and going to half of his roots as you might know his mother is Dutch.

He left Celtic after his loan to FC Utrecht and signed at .................................... FC Utrecht on a free transfer.

After a very good season with Utrecht he and his club survived three qualifying rounds in the Europa League and reached the League Phase.

He is probably being a little hard done by not being included in the Ethniki squads. He has been a nailed on starter for the last 2-3 seasons for Utrecht. While in that same time Vlachodimos has had barely any game-time bouncing between Forrest and Newcastle.

Hopefully that changes for him now he is on loan at Sevilla, but clearly Jovanovic prefers Vlachodimos for as the experienced goalkeeper of the trio. A strong case can be made that Barkas should be one of the three being called up. It probably won't make a difference, looks like Tzolakis will continue to be the starter heading into this WCQ campaign.
