CincinnatiAek Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Garcia gets put in a headlock and American football tackled, complains, gets hit ftom behind and the gets a red for retaliating. Ofi should have had at least one red in that scenario. 1
Alphonse Posted October 9, 2021 Author Posted October 9, 2021 As usual, the coach we have started with has been a failure and and such, Milojevic has agreed to take an offer from Saudi Arabia! We look for a new coach again, Manolo Jimenez and Georgios Donis the front runners 1
CincinnatiAek Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 Just a clown show at the top. Not a fan of Milojevic but it takes time for so many new signings to gel.
CincinnatiAek Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 I can't remember the last time a manager lasted the entire season at AEK.
Alphonse Posted October 10, 2021 Author Posted October 10, 2021 Argirios Giannikis is the new coach, he had that great season with PAS Giannena last season
CincinnatiAek Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 Big win, 1-3 at Volos. Hope Garcia is not too injured.
Alphonse Posted October 27, 2021 Author Posted October 27, 2021 He should be ok but we should know soon. Big test v an in form Aris coming up. Our attack is ok, our defence is still a big concern, in the last two games with Atromitos and Volos we were exposed early on, Volos was actually very unlucky to not open the scoring which could have changed things. Good test v Aris and keen to see if Giannikis keeps Mitoglou as a starter and Tzavellas on bench
Alphonse Posted November 22, 2021 Author Posted November 22, 2021 Our horrible defense gifted Olympiakos another win over us... We played well for the most part, sadly Zuber and Garcia went missing but the other guys really rallied, just a shame we have them 2 goals. 1

The AEK defender pass back directly to El arabi was what put the game out of reach. Beautiful volley goal from Araujo it was a stunner. Mantalos had a good game overall but where has that been lately when he plays for the Ethniki?
Alphonse Posted November 23, 2021 Author Posted November 23, 2021 It was a very good game to watch but heart breaking for me to watch us give up these goals, credit to Aguibou Camara on Olympiakos's opener, but the off side attempt by Vranjes on El Arabi was amateurish, on such a stage... As for Mantalos, was much better in this game and in the season for us in general than anything we saw with the Ethniki, my only criticism of him lately is, he has been very wasteful in front of goal. This is def something for AEK to build on though and hopefully Meli realizes (again) that we need a better defense 1
Brklyngrk Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 AEK are through on 2 extra time goals!!! There's still hope for two group stage Greek teams!!
Soprano76 Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 What an amazing comeback. Greek may have 2 UCL teams and 4 total in the groups this year! 1
CincinnatiAek Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Crazy finish. Was very disappointed when they went down 2 at home. Then elated after the comeback. Antwerp will be a tough matchup. 2
Alphonse Posted August 21, 2023 Author Posted August 21, 2023 Truley unberlivable stuff... to go down 2-0 to those guys was heartbreaking in Agia Sofia, thank god we turned it around and got through. Antwerp now, tougher team than I thought after looking them up, they have a great record at home so anything but defeat tomorrow will be good 2
georgelaz Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 1-1 AEK VS. Olympiakos at half time today.
Soprano76 Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Overall, his tenure was a mixed back but the double in his first year makes it more of a success than failure, IMO.
Alphonse Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 That was def the highlight and some big derby wins however I cant help and look at the Championship we threw away last season and the disaster that was this season. Overall he won the fans over with his passion and to win a double after 40 years plus is big just a shame it went so south so quickly Our terrible tansfers and sells didnt help 1
