pash Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Jaba and El Kaddouri are hurt - it doesn't sound like this is a serious injury for either, but they seem very likely to miss the cup. Biseswar will also be losing a game soon due to cards (though I don't think they'll do it for this one, if the Cup is even applicable to this punishment). Also I don't think the defensive lineup will change. Maybe if we have the score Varela/Crespo and Vierinha will get a break.

El Kaddouri will miss around 4 weeks, Jaba about a week according to latest reports.

Reports are that Ingason will start over Varela. Also Giannoulis will start and Vieirinha will play as RB.

pash Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 Funny thing about Canas - one of the "paok news" instagram accounts had a post a week or two ago where they basically said that he's on his way out, etc etc. Someone responded to the post (tagging Canas) with "oh you were such a great player, I'm sorry you're on your way out" etc etc etc (or something to that effect). And Canas responded to it (via emoticons). So he's basically not denying that he's on his way out. Long story short, I don't think Canas or Shakhov will be here next summer. IF we get Oliveira, we're looking at a lineup of Mauricio/Wernbloom/Oliveira/Misic, and probably a fifth (Balogiannis? Charisis?). I'd say that's a net improvement, personally.

Maybe Misic or Pelkas will start instead? Unless Lucescu surprises everyone and starts Swiderski.
pash Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 I did see one site claim that Swiderski was probably getting the start. I don't think the striker is the problem. Frankly, I think we'll crush them regardless of lineup - they now have something to be angry about.
