I agree, but the cross was to an unmarked player, he had to come for it, and it was in a bit of an awkward spot for him, hard to do anymore than he did with it. Djalma has looked bad defensively, getting beaten constantly by the PAO right back/winger and leaving us exposed.

From what i've understood, yes you play all teams twice in the play-offs format. So next season there will be 40 (!!!) league games for the teams in the championship playoffs. The 18-19 season will be less since the league is dropping to 14 teams, so I count 36 league games for the top 6 sides. This would mean teams in the relegation playoffs play 48 league/playoff games next season? that can't be right?

Benfica took on Porto in a top of the table clash. Game ended 1-1, with Jonas winning and converting a penalty for Benfica. Mitro played the whole 90 as did Samaris. The result keeps Benfica a point clear of Porto at the top of the table, with 7 games remaining. Looks like the title race is gonna go down to the wire.

so basically we get guaranteed 4 derbies a season, (2 in the regular season + in the championship playoffs) does not seem like anything is gained from a footballing perspective. Only gain is selling more tickets (potentially) in the derbies/more $ from advertisers for the derby games. Can't see anyone jumping out of their skin to attend PAS vs atromitos 4 times a season.

Very very good result. If Taxi hadn't been sent off I dare say we hold on for a win. Up until the red card the belgians looked toothless in attack. In the end took a huge double save from Kapino to get the result but we take it. Keeps us in second place, and more importantly maybe, it means we can go to Bosnia and afford a draw. Huge result in every single way.

very good half. Defensive rock solid. Sokratis and Manola have been very good. Kept Belgium to just 3 attempts, only one of which was on target. Samaris, taxi and tzavella all guilty of giving the ball away at times which has left us a little open. Only really disappointing thing is the few times we have gone into their half and into a decent attacking position we have been wasteful, bad touches/passes and the Belgians are off again. But hey we didn't go to Brussels to score! No doubt they will come out firing in the 2nd half so we'll have to keep it extremely tight and look for any chance to break

couple of time in the first 5 mins we have pressed them high up the pitch and won the ball back in dangerous positions. Nothing has come of it, but good to see us putting some pressure high up the pitch and making it tough for them to build from the back
