Pretty sure Uefa confirmed it yesterday or something. But from what I read the top 4 nations in the rankings (Spain, Germany, England and Italy) will get 4 spots in the UCL which isn't too different to how it is now, where the first 3 nations have 4 spots. I'm not sure but maybe those countries are getting 4 tickets directly into the group stage rather than the 3 and one qualifying spot they had before? Maybe dutch eagle knows more. Also i dont think the changes are going to come into effect until the 18-19 season?

gonna be tough whoever we get. If we can keep a clean sheet at home in the first leg, we are on. We are a huge threat on the counter, with Rodrigues, Djalma and matos/Leovac overlapping. Most of our eliminations in knockout football over the last 5-6 years has come because of poor results at home. Away we go and perform, defend well, hard and counter with intent. Then s%$#! the bed in toumba (see ajax both times, CSKA, Udinese and as we know our last 2 europa league group stage eliminations have come from not being able to get points at home) So happy that we are playing knockout football in Europe again. Can't wait for the games.

i dont mind head to head tbh. As you are ranking 2 teams, as to who is better than the other. What better way then to look at the games between the teams in question and see who came off better. Just watched the first half on replay, We started well, the first 10-15 or so scored a goal had another 2 chances with Rodrigues. after that We were very lucky to weather the storm, twice they hit the bar (we hit it once to be fair) but they had us a pinned back. Second half was more balanced. They had a lot of possesion but didnt create as much as they did in the first. fiorentina took there foot off the pedal a touch after making it 2-2.

we would have 10 points as would fiorentina right? we have beaten and drawn with them therefore wouldnt we trump the italians on our head to head? but if qarabag dont win 5-0 (which they wont) then what happens in a 3 way tie? all 3 of us could have 10 points with us having a better head to against fioretenina but qarabag over us

amazing end to the game! watching the second half cant say we didnt deserve it. We had some chances on the break and for the most part defended well, kept shape and were disicplined the win is huge because it means no matter what the result between qarabag-fiorentina, a win against liberc puts us through. If qarabag were to win (however unlikely it is) we would get fiorentina on the head to head (assuming we win of course which is a must) bravo re paokara, mas trelanis

really knit picking there blackhawk. Klaus is not and has not been starting XI material for years, maybe his whole career. With the huge turnover in players we see every season, he is one of the few that have survived. He is now the captain and club's poster boy, making it near impossible to drop him/sell him. They have sort of backed themselves into a corner regarding Klaus. I've said for years now if we are serious he should at best be a sub, a depth player and even then its debatable. He can score, he's a poacher but its been proven time and time again over his career, in big games against top defences (especially in Europe) he goes missing. In saying that he is entitiled to a life, so he hung back after a loss in Athens big deal. As Pash said, should he have thrown himself off the Acropolis because we lost? I can assure you a couple of hours after the game all the boys where laughing and joking with each other again, the difference is there are no photos of those guys floating around on social media.

Have to agree with playing Xolebas at left back. He does not have the dribble or the skill to beat a defender one on one. He, like most modern day full-backs are better when they are overlapping. I recall seeing many left backs being played on the wing and not having the same influence. I don't think we will have any problems here, I see a comfortable win. Given where we are coming from though, id be content with a 2-0 win.

Tell you what some tricky teams all the way down. Pot 1 will be tough whoever we get, the only one that seems some-what easy is Plzen. We could cop a group with Zenit/Kransdor (We know is tricky) or Mainz or feyernoord from pot 2 Sassuolo, Qabala as we know are tricky from pot 4. Even Hapoel who knocked out olympiako and really pushed celtic will be tough. In saying all that fingers crossed for a good draw, I think we have our best team in a while and should be aiming to get out of the groups at least

I forgot to include Shakov in my center mid calculations. Although he hasn't been great so far, it's clear Ivic rates him and he will get minuets. So maybe being 5th choice is just to low for both Tzioli and Kace.

I would be keeping Kace as depth tbh about a month ago we had far too many players in center mid and now we are starting to look a little thin if you ask me. Also given our poor track record with injuries I feel we are playing with fire. Keep Kace. have Cimirot/Canas as your starters, Xarisi next in line and then you have Kace for cover. Assuming we play some games with a no.10 as well (biserwar/pelka/mysta) then I think we should be okay with the 4 of them

This s%$#! just gets better and better every year. I've said it before, I know longer watch Greek football for the football, I watch it for the drama. i don't even know what needs to be done, its all just a big mess. I hope the greek teams dont get booted out of Europe.
