  1. WOW! talk about calling a bluff!! can't see any of the 3 teams doing that tbh. I agree epo needs alot of cleaning but lets see if these 3 put there money where there mouth is. I'm sick of empty threats coming from these guys, time to nut up or shut up. Take action if you believe it will result in change. Realistically Greek football can't survive without PAOK, PAO and AEK. So who will blink first?
  2. im not buying that someone is offering us nearly 1 million for Sabo We have been linked to Vittek, the 34 year old Slovak striker. That seems like a signing of seasons gone by, not at all in keeping with our signings this year. Need to look elsewhere if we actually want to improve on what we currently have in attack
  3. wow can't believe this happened 3 years ago, seems like a lifetime ago. shame for him he was showing promise, probably a combination of that incident and not being able to take the next step led to his demise. After all he moved to italy and lasted all of one season. Anyone know what hes doing now? According to wiki he hasn't played at a professional team since Levadiakos at the end of the 14-15 season. still only 23
  4. Looking back on the highlights, it hurts so much more. How did we not get through. Ajax created zero we had some glorious chances. Its been a while since ive see us out play a team at European level (Brondby last year but Brondby is no ajax) We really should have been in the champions league play-offs. Even half chances like the cimirot one where his touch just got away from him and his shot gets blocked. Tzavella's free kick, a little more height and a touch more bend and its in. Let alone Klaus chances. But thats football I guess, luck wasn't with us on 3-4 occasions and we copped a nice suckerpunch. Hoping for a really good year in the league and a decent run in the Europa. We have the team to do it, if you add a striker who knows... Axx re paokara, this ones gonna hurt for a while
  5. I might be wrong but didn't he play a big role in keeping them up or something a few seasons ago when he went on loan?
  6. Should be able to beat any of those teams really. Never easy though. I'm a little worried about Larnca even though on paper we should be fine, I'm sure they'll fire up big time if they draw us
  7. heartbreaking Especially given those first half chances.
  8. soft penalty but he was pulling his shirt. The ref has been terrible, would have he had the balls to call that "penalty" against Ajax for us. Need to keep our heads, still 50-50 they are very beatable and we will have chances. If we had a striker who was actually a footballer this game would be over already. but anyways, a big 2nd half gia tin prokrisi
  9. Long long lines at toumba today to get a ticket! apparently 6000 tickets sold in an hour and a half!
  10. xarisi ended the season well and was probably our best player against Ajax. If he can stay fit (seems to be an issue for him) its only a matter of time before he's called up.
  11. That's one thing I really hate Greek football. The owners are far more involved than in any other country in the world. Whether it's Marinaki storming down to the rooms and having a tanty or Savvidis/Alfouza threatning to leave the league every other week. These guys are meant to provide financial stability for the club and employ people who know about football to run the football part of things. But in Greece thats not the case, and it contributes to the poor quality of our league. Anyways dissapointing result, at least an away goal wasn't conceded. I still think olympiako will go through, a win or a score draw will do!
  12. What makes it tougher is teams poor performance or lack of appearence in Europe. your ranking goes down and then you end up unseeded (as AEK is) and its tough. It's what has held PAOK in good stead, a few solid runs in the Europa league over the last 5-6 years and we are seeded when it comes to the qualifiers. Doesn't guarantee you'll make the group stage but its a big help. I don't think PAO will have many problems with AIK. While its a tricky tie for AEK and Pas are going to need a miracle.
  13. Good result. I actually thought Tzavella for the most part did well, making some key interceptions. Xarisi was very good, if he is injured hopefully its nothing serious and he is fine for the 2nd leg. Klaus you would swear hasn't played football, no ability to shield or hold up the ball but thats nothing new. They are beatable but we are gonna need to score at least 2 I think, can't see us keeping a clean sheet. But all to play for in a packed toumba
  14. we have been slow in closing down those shots all night. Must say, apart from the goal Djalma has not impressed me, poor touch and trying to do too much with the ball. He needs to play simple and direct, especially in a game like this where we arent seeing much of the ball
  15. literally saw the 2 side of glykos in one half. Fumbling that shot for the offside goal, and him flapping at the corner, which he got nowhere near. Then he makes a solid reflex save. He looks nervy, if we get through this with a clean sheet it will be a minor miracle. Defs settled a lot better after the goal, more space will open up as Ajax chase a goal or 2, we need to take advantage. Rodrigues looking dangerous without having quiet been able to get a hold of them
  16. Oxi re klaus great play by rodrigues to set that up
  17. anyone have a stream that isn't lagging every 5 seconds?
  18. lucky that flag came up, glyko once again showing us why he won't ever be the keeper we need Ajax crossbar, seems like a matter of time now
  19. Defs surprising that Facundo was left off the list, It may mean that he could be on the way out. Could Xatzi be being left out because he refused to go to Steoua as part of the Varela deal? And the club are using this as a sort of punishment? In saying that Ivic didn't seem to rate him when he took over, so maybe he's looking at a long season. Which is a shame, he showed some solid signs when he joined, I think he should be kept. Even if Varela does get put in the squad, surely he doesn't play? At least in the first leg seeing he hasn't trained in like 3 weeks or something, due to injury.
  20. Good post Bananas, I agree with everything you wrote At the same time, I feel some of us are a little touchy here about the quality of our players, I really hope Djalma comes good. But until we see him play how can we know? Shakov and Matos on paper look like they will slot right in and be good players. But guys like Djalma and Bisewar are always hit and miss, they've showed glimpses in the pre-season but you can't tell anything until the real stuff gets underway.
