  1. I don't know about permanently, can't really say I can split my team your team and AEK as to who is the next best.
  2. Everything I'm reading is saying no toro v Estonia but it hasn't mentioned if he'll be fit for the Belgium match. I did read that he hasn't (as of yet at least) travelled to Greece. So I'd assume he is out for our 2nd match as well. Donis needs to get the start over Vellio/Diamantako, my only issue is I don't know how much of a pure CF he is, I'm pretty sure he's lead the line at club level so it shouldn't be too unreasonable to ask him to do the same v Estonia
  3. never seen him play, he only had one season at Zenit so not sure what to make of that, hopefully he and El Kaddouri can give us a much needed lift. Wouldn't mind a centre back before the window closes, doesn't have to be starting quality, just a solid back up.
  4. agree 100% with you bananas, of course we are in better shape these days and for that I am thankful to Savvidis. But that doesn't excuse the fact at how poorly we are run, and now more than ever there is no excuse for it because we are financially stable and in a strong position. As I said earlier Ivan stays no doubt about that, but he needs to leave the people that he puts in place to run the football department actually run it. Our last 2 Td's have bought in good players and now it seems we are about to see the back of Michel. We will never contend as long as this merry-go-round continues that is a fact
  5. Donis not included in Stuttgart's matchday squad due to a "sprained ankle" hoping its nothing serious, lord knows we are short on attacking options for this game.
  6. ^^ word is savvidis is considering no more signings, as a result of us not qualifying for the group stage. I doubt that's true but nothing surprises me anymore
  7. its simple savvidi stays, but he let's the people who he employs to make football decisions make those decisions. Without interference from him, or his boneheaded son who seems pre-occupied with endearing himself to gate 4 ultras. If the technical director and co have a poor 2 years, fine turn them over but you must trust these people to make the calls on coaches/players
  8. From what I understand it's done for good, but this is Greece going into the opening matchday we didn't know if playoffs were on or off. So you honestly can't know what the superleague committee and nova (who has a lot of power) will decide for beyond this season
  9. Embarrassing performance and embarrassing result. I honestly blame off-field staff for this. you can't change a coach during a pre-season and expect results. the players came into this game with a xanthi-esque attitude and we were made to pay by a very very average team. It's such a shame that this exact team that did so well last season and looked like it was set for big things, yet looked this poor tonight. Don't know what else to say that was just plain awful and they should all be embarrassed everyone from players to coaches to technical directors etc.. they are all to blame for what has happened tonight
  10. matos and prijovic have played with fire a few times given they've already been booked
  11. if we get knocked out, I wonder if they'll sack lucescu, nothing surprises me anymore
  12. but if enrique doesn't get booked then did he even play??
  13. awful turn over by Mak deep in our half forces Rey into making his first real save of the night, we've been terrible on the ball the few times we've had it
  14. the way their winger just blew past leovac and mak is really concerning. as long as we keep it at 0-0 we'll be okay, cop one and nerves will sky rocket. Also the fact that we've provided nothing on the counter is a little worrying but it's still early days
  15. I just read that PAOK agreed for our games to be televised on Nova, and that goes for both in Greece and the rest of the world. Does that mean that paok home games will be on sports plus for those of us in Australia?
  16. been linked with a move away from them all summer, in classic greek footballer fashion nothing will happen until the last day of the transfer window
  17. unless enrique is feeling sore, wrong move taking him off, he's looked lively in the second half. Should have been Mak. At least lucescu has made the subs relatively early and isn't sitting on his hands hoping it works out
  18. agree, in a game where you are gonna have the opposition pinned back you need fullbacks who can play with the ball, dribble and cross, Crespo doesn't fit that given he's a centre back. a lot of players playing very poorly, Kace and Mak's touch has been awful. need some subs the guys out there just don't have the quality to open a packed defence.
  19. Starting XI is as pash posted above ^ Interested to see how limnios goes. Hopefully there are streams
  20. correct me if I'm mistaken but don't we need to finish 9th or above in order to guarantee the Greek champion goes directly into the champions league group stage? Wasn't that part of Uefa's shake up in awarding the top 4 (currently spain, Germany, England and Italy) ranking nations 4 direct entries into the champions league group stage? And those extra spots were taken from the countries ranked 10-12?
  21. no more playoffs is huge
  22. he was never that good, couldn't deny his scoring record over a 2-3 year period but inevitably we'd come up in a big european game or a derby and he'd go missing. Just a pure poacher with nothing else going for him, in terms of football ability. As soon as his scoring dried up he offered nothing, that mind sound stupid but compare to Prijovic vs olimpic donestk, he didn't score but he brings the ball down, releases other players into dangerous positions and has the strength to play with his back to goal. Anyways i didn't mean for this to turn into a Klaus bashing sesh, if the move does go through then I wish him all the best and thank him for those couple of seasons where he was scoring for fun.
  23. it is disappointing, at the same time who else was there that would come? For me understanding Greek football is a must when moving to coach in the country, I think we should have looked local, would have got someone with a similar resume and someone who knows what football in Greece is all about... Anyways time will reveal if this guy is any good, i hope im wrong but im not holding my breath
  24. AEK has qualified for the champions league qualifiers and not PAOK. So if you come to Greece at all, you'll be heading to Athens
