With 1:1 from the first leg, all we need is a scoreless tie.

Mak was selected not to play in the PAOK - Iraklis game, so he will be available on Sunday. Let's not forget that we don't have a big selection of forwards for this game. Only Mak and Klaus. Wonder what king of formation will Tudor employ. He should also remember that we have a lot more important game on Thursday against Panionios in the cup.

Iakovos Aggelidis resigned as the PAE PAOK president today. Lubos Michel, the Slovakian ex-referee will apparently be announced as the new president tomorrow.

Presidents of PAE PAOK since 1979- 1980, the start of the professional soccer in Greece: 1979 - 1984: Giorgos Pantelakis 1984 - 1986: Petros Kalafatis 1986 - 1988: Charis Savvidis 1988 - 1989: Giannis Dedeoglou 1989 - 1996: Thomas Voulinos 1996 - 1996: Georgios Kalyvas 1996 - 2001: Georgios Batatoudis 2001 - 2003: Petros Kalafatis 2003 - 2006: Giannis Goumenos 2006 - 2007: Nikos Vezyrtzis 2007 - 2009: Theodoros Zagorakis 2009 - 2010: Zisis Vryzas 2010 - 2011: Theodoros Zagorakis 2011 - 2014: Zisis Vryzas 2014 - 2016: Iakovos Angelides (Cyprus) 2016 - 2016: Lubos Michel (Slovakia) 2016 - present: Ivan Savvidis

Apparently Vezyrtzis will resign as PAE PAOK vice-president tomorrow. That follows the resignation of PAE PAOK president Jack Aggelidis. Vezyrtzis probably got pissed off that Savvidis chose Michel as the new president instead of him.

The Costa move really makes no sense considering he was gone after this season anyway. I guess they think that we can make it with Vitor, Malezas, Tzavellas and Chatziisaia for the rest of the season. Good luck with that. The bigger problem though is that we did not get help with a "dekari". Pelkas just does not cut it. There was a talk of signing Chavez who won his release from Giannina. That move would not make any sense prior to Saturday, but after loosing Rodrigues and Jairo for 6 weeks, I am surprised we did not sign him.

Other clubs with a double headed Eagle in their club logo
Blackhawk replied to Dutch Eagle's topic in PAOK FC
Here you go: -
Kace, just like Berbatov is on Tudor's black list for some reason.
-
As worn by Koudas in 1966:
-
Possible lineup: ---------------- Vellidis ---------------- Kitsiou - Vitor - Costa - Korovesis ------- Tziolis --------- Cimirot ------ Mystakidis -- Pelkas -- Rodrigues ----------------- Mak ------------------
-
Dimitris Popovic who was on loan to Panserraikos for the last 6 months has now been loaned to Cypriot "B" division team Karmiotissa Polemidon. Another talent wasted.
-
Well at least we got a player in Chatzisiisaias for a position where we hurt and that is CB. If we can get a "dekari" by Monday, I will be happy. BTW welcome to the forums PAOKSYD.

Here is the jersey commemorating the 90 years of PAOK. It is based on the jersey worn by PAOK in 1965-1966. There is a picture of Koudas wearing this jersey. I believe Pontos used to have this pic as his avatar. Very nice jersey in my opinion, and I will be getting one for sure. Also I heard that the team might be wearing this jersey in tomorrow's game against Atromitos.
-
Tomorrow (29-Jan) at 19:15 Greek time the official unveiling of the commemorative jersey for PAOK's 90th birthday will take place. It will be streamed live on PAOK TV (https://www.youtube.com/user/paokfootball)

Looks like the first two semifinalists are already known following the first leg of the quarterfinals. I believe that there still will be one surprise elimination in this round. Let's hope it's not PAOK. PAOK - Panionios ---, 1:1 Asteras - Olympiakos ---, 0:5 Iraklis - AEK ---, 1:4 Atromitos - Panathinaikos ---, 0:0

Only the guys at Radio Arvila can make such funny videos. Good stuff.
-
Additionaly, Tzavellas is out of this one as well due to cards.
-
Looks like the Chatzisaias deal will be announced tomorrow. It will be a 4-year deal. Apparently we will pay Panionios 500K transfer fee. Looks like all these teams with financial problems (Panionios, Giannina) found a cash cow in Savvidis and are milking him for every Euro they can get.
-
Four yellow cards. Would have been interesting to see if Tudor would have started Berbatov in Klaus's absence, or if his ego would have prevent him from doing so.
-
No Klaus or Berbatov in this game, so I don't know what kind of offense Tudor comes up with.

Good result considering we play like s%$#! in the last few games. We still have a chance to qualify, but with such display it makes no difference, since we don't have what it takes to eliminate the other big three to make the final. Unfortunately we have become a "small team" with "small team" attitude. The season started with such great expectations, but it slowly turns out to be another wasted one. I really though we might make some improvements in the second half of the season, but it looks like Tudor might be too inexperienced to move this team forward. And now he gets his ego get in the way, ruining the chemistry of the team. Like I said, we will probably qualify, but I don't see us having any luck in the semis unless we really start performing. Costa, Tzavellas, and Korovesis probably our best players today, and in my opinion none of those three should even be on PAOK's roster. Mak, Klaus, Skondras very poor in the last few games.

Yianko, I live quite close to the O'Hare International Airport. Maybe too close. Next time let me know and we can meet.

Same version in English: Dimitar Berbatov: PAOK striker interviews himself on Facebook Dimitar Berbatov, the journalist, asks: "Some media say you don't want to play for PAOK any more?" And Dimitar Berbatov, the footballer, replies: "This is why I am giving an interview to you, and not to people who are coming up with stupid things like this." Confused? Welcome to arguably the season's oddest piece of sporting journalism. Berbatov, once of Manchester United, has interviewed himself on Facebook. The former Bulgaria international, who now plays in Greece for PAOK Salonika, has always been a little, well, unpredictable. But his chat with himself - the ultimate exclusive, perhaps - is no move to fashion a position in the media upon retirement. Instead, he is taking a swipe at the journalists he has accused of coming up with "stupid things". Berbatov the footballer had a bad Sunday. PAOK lost their Greek Super League fixture with AEK Athens. He was a substitute and, when introduced, lasted 38 minutes before being sent off. In his defence, being sent off for the first time in 13 years may be unsettling. He followed it up by taking to Facebook to post an interview between Journalist Dimitar Berbatov (JDB) and Dimitar Berbatov (DB). Here's how it went. JDB: Hi. How are you feeling? DB: Hi. I am fine but disappointed. We lost against AEK, and I received a red card. JDB: Do you think it was a red card? DB: Yes. The player from AEK was holding and preventing me from positioning myself better in the box and this, and the fact, I was angry and nervous, made me hit him. JDB: Why were you so nervous and angry? DB: Because of the fact that I was watching the game, and even though AEK were not the better team, they still scored a goal. Because I was not playing and I could do nothing to help. This was a derby and I came here to play exactly in these kind of games, where my quality and experience can help the team, and not for me to stay on the bench and do nothing. But the opposite happened. JDB: And you are disappointed because of this? DB: Yes. When I don't play, I can't be happy. The problem is that, in this case I took it out on the colleague from the other team. And I am not one of this players looking for a conflict, this is a well-known fact, but in this case the opposite happened, for which I am sorry. In about four hours, Berbatov's interview with 'journalist Dimitar Berbatov' was liked more than 4,500 times on Facebook. The former Tottenham and Fulham forward was welcomed by 10,000 fans at PAOK's stadium upon joining from Monaco last summer and he has gone on to score four goals since. But Sunday's dismissal has seen some factions of the media question his commitment. JDB: Some media say you don't want to play for PAOK any more? DB: This is why I am giving an interview to you, and not to people who are coming up with stupid things like this. This is not true, and with this kind of talk, some people are trying to harm the team. I still feel joy when I play football. I want to play. When this is not happening, I am angry and disappointed. There is no way to feel joy from the fact that I am not playing, and they are paying me good money amid all that is happening in Greece. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/35413697
