GAMES: 55
WINS: 12
TIES: 21
LOSSES: 23
Sunday we play our last regular season game against Panionios at Nea Smyrni. With a win we are guaranteed second place in the standings. Any other result and will have to hope that Panathinaikos loses points at home against PAS Giannina.
Another reason to win this game is to start the playoffs with as many points as possible. With a win we will get 3 points, and depending on the other results the other teams might get 2 (Panathinaikos) or 1 (Tripoli).
The only problem is that Panionios needs at least one point in order to avoid relegation and will give it all to achieve this. On top of that we will be missing at least 4 starters in this game.
-
The Atromitos - Panionios game was interrupted because of a banner having something to do about the corruption in Greek football.
I think it will be tough to keep 2d place as we are playing Panionios that desperately needs at least a point. I think Panathinaikos will easily beat Giannina.
If we do manage to win, and Atromitos ties or loses to Kalloni, than we will start the playoffs with 3 points.
As for the relegation game, six teams are involved and could possibly clinch the last relegation spot. Should be an interesting last round of the regular season.
-
Great Hawks taking a 2:0 lead going into Minnesota. If we steal one there we should be in good shape.
-
For you guys in Boston and Toronto as well mark your calendars.
The 2004 NT veterans that won the Euro plans on playing friendly games against the Portugal veterans in June.
PAOK will be represented by Georgiadis and Papadopoulos.
-
I meant Cercle instead of Lockeren. It sucks that you can't edit your own posts.
-
Looks like Deportivo and Lockeren will be relegated. That means that both Lucas and Martens are returning to PAOK. Remains to be seen what PAOK does with them.
-
Tzavellas should have been dealt with by the front office, when he was creating problems in the dressing room. Anastasiadis benched him, but the front office refused to do anything about the situation. The same day Anastasiadis was fired, Tzavellas came back to the team with the blessing of the front office. And he was not the only one creating issues in the dressing room. It is no wonder the team just colapsed after December.
-
My guess at a lineup for Sunday:
-------------------- Itandje ----------------
Skondras - Costa - Tzavellas - Rat
Golasa --- Noboa --- Kace --- Mak
---- Papadopoulos -- Koulouris ----
I think it's about time that Mak had a good game.

Just when the Bucks thought they could get back into the series, the Bulls handed them a 54 point difference blow yesterday. Giannis Antetokounmpo got eject from the game after a hard foul on Dunlevy. He played well in the previous games except for the first one.
Now we face Lebron and Cleveland. Go Bulls !!!
-
First game tonight. Go Hawks.
-
I don't know if I woul bet on winning this game. Levadeiakos needs points and EPO is sending Mitsios (remember the Kalloni game?) to help get them. If we play the same as we did against Giannina, we will have problems.
We should have an incentive to finish ahead of Panathinaikos in the standings just in case Olympiakos gets punished by UEFA as is being mentioned by some of the press. That's why the result against Giannina was bad. Now we have to hope Panathinaikos loses points in the last two games.
-
Klaus and Vitor will miss the game due to cards. Salpi is still not ready, but Maduro is.
-
PAS can sell players, and they sold Charisis and Korovesis to PAOK, so they could cover expenses in order to get the license. Apparently there is one more player that was sold according to their owner.
As I said they can sell players, but they will be limited to who they can sign. I think last season it was 3 players under the age of 23.

Since this week all the Superleague games take place at the same time (19:00 GR), television coverage will be spotty for us outside of Greece.
In Greece all the games will be live on the various Nova Sports channels.
In US, Canada and Australia Antenna Satellite/Pacific will show the Kerkyra - Panathinaikos live and PAS Giannina - Ergotelis on tape.
Sport Plus will show all games live via multi game coverage, switching between games as needed. After the games finish they will show four games on tape:
Veroia - Panthrakikos (1:00 pm CDT)
Xanthi - Tripoli (3:00 pm CDT)
PAOK - Levadeiakos (5:00 pm CDT)
Olympiakos - Kalloni (7:00 pm CDT)
For complete details see here: http://home.earthlink.net/~ziaka/GreekSoccerTVSchedules.htm

It's due to finances. This license was for next season, but also counts for the current playoffs.
Instead of the team not being able to compete next season, they will probably be allowed to play, but not be able to make transfers like the teams did this season. Same goes for Panthrakikos and Panionios.

PAOK - Olympiakos 3:0
PAOK takes the series 3:0 on games and is the new Greek champion in volleyball.
Bravo to the team that won the double in the sport this season.

You can watch the 3rd game o the finals here:

Not the best picture though.

Since all the games his weekend start at the same time, the game will only be televised live in Greece and on channel Nova Sport 4.
For us in US and Canada, Sport Plus will show the game on tape delay at 17:00 Central time. Sport Plus will not be showing any games live in its entirety. Instead they will have a live Multi Game coverage switching between games.
-
In other news today PAS Giannina and Panthrakikos failed to win their appeal in order to receive a license to play in the Superleague. As a result of this ruling if PAS Giannina finishes in 5th place they will not be allowed to play in the playoffs.

Special prosecutor Georgios Andreadis has completed his preliminary hearings concerning the organized crime in Greek football. Accusations against 26 people have been made public. Those involved will have to provide statements concerning their case to the prosecutor. After that the prosecutor will decided if they will be charged.
The 26 people involved are:

Can't do that Itale.
First of all I can't edit titles on the threads. I think only moderators can do that.
Additionaly I did enter the name as "PAOK" but the system changes it to Paok as it does not allow consecutive capital letters.

Blackhell was around until 2010 or so. After that he stopped posting. I thing it probably had to do with the fact that he got married.
BTW he used to part of the Greeksoccer.com when it was part of Phantis, but that was long time ago.
-
I agree that the Wild are better team than Predators. This will not be an easy series. I see this going 7 games.
As for the goalie situation I expect Crawford to be the no. 1 until he has a really bad game.
