Defensively I would say Tzavellas is not quite as good as Holebas. But that is counter balanced by the fact that Holebas gets forward a lot more, because well, he just has the instinct, which can leave us exposed at the back. Tzavellas is more conservative in that regard. In attack, Holebas is 3 times the player of Tzavellas. Much more complete and just had that drive to make something happen out of nothing. Stafylidis is still a work in progress but he is showing good signs. If he keeps improving I can see him becoming our permanent left back in a couple of years. Either way you slice it, Greece is the poorer for his having retired.

Seriously, you should let this obsession go. You keep repeating this "Stafylidis cost us Euro qualification" line ad nauseum. Even if it is the case that he played utterly terribly, what about the other 10 players on the pitch, what about the other players on the bench, what about the EPO, what about the coach ... or coaches, what about the tactics, what about Greece losing to fishermen and out of all this, all this, you point through the big piling mass of errors and shame and somehow single out one player, one lowly player at that, not even a player who is in the starting 11, a player who only gets a run when others are injured, not a key player, a player not expected to be a leader, and you point your finger at Stafylidis and say, "YOU cost us qualification". Yep, everything else about the campaign was perfect, but that Stafylidis, he cost us qualification. Jesus help me.

I'm still a little surprised teams from the Serie A and possibly even lower level EPL teams or a team in the Championship that were serious promotion contenders didn't show interest in Mak. I think once he'd acclimatized, he would have done really well. Did anyone else notice Sabo on the pitch!!!

End of the day the 3 PAOK attackers that are past the last defender need to be a bit smarter and try to get on-side anyway. You're just giving the linesman cannon fodder if he's against you, and even if he's not, it's a split second decision he has to make. Why make it any more difficult.

I think the simple truth of it is that Biseswar is the only player in the middle that can "make the difference". The rest are just work horses. Having Biseswar on the pitch for 90 minutes is important if we want be giving (as we should) teams like Veroia 3 and 4 goals. Hopefully he can get fit. The other player who is class in the middle is Canas. As for Ivic's tactics, I can only assume that he thought with the 11 on the pitch he'd be fine, which I suppose is reasonable. I agree with kozi that we shouldn't need to have 2 DM's in the middle against this sort of opposition. It's a scared cautious approach. Just put them to the sword.

The whole team is playing like they had a big bowl of lethargy before the game. At this stage, I'd probably take Charisis off at the 65th if we haven't scored and push Biseswar behind the strikers to try and create something.

Crespo appears fine defensively so I think we'll be fine in that regard. I just don't think he's anywhere near as good in the attacking aspects of playing as a RB. Having said that, I've only seen him in a few games. This link keeps freezing periodically. Annoying

Crespo at RB over Kitsiou is surprising. It's good that Crespo is versatile. He can play anywhere along the whole back line but not sure what's going on with Kitsiou in general.
