I wouldn't subject young kids to that. Better to put the 1st team in, then when the whistle blows for kick-off, the whole team can run to the centre circle, form a huddle, one of the players could pulled a deck of cards out of his sock, and the boys could start playing manila. I wonder if there is a rule the referee could apply for the opposition "not participating" ?

I saw the game Qarabag vs Sloven and Qarabag were definitely the better team. They were actually quite decent in attack and played at a good temp although their defense was shaky. I think if we play smart we can get the 3 points.

I'll be happy with a draw and a solid game on our part. I'm actually more interested to see how our team plays against a solid opponent, rather than the result ... and that's because ... I don't believe we're quite there yet as far as making a real title challenge. A striker and midfielder that are "Biseswar" level ie. you can tell straight away they are something special, and a left back that has attacking instincts like Matos, and yes, we're definitely there. Anyhow, call me a pessimist. I'll be more than happy to be proven wrong.

Me too. Most of them seem to reside in Athens.

SMASHING finish by Rodrigues! Klaus will be having nightmares. Yes buddy, it wasn't a dream. You really did miss all those chances. Biseswar is looking better each game. Campos, Campos, wherefore art thou Campos.

@pash thanks champ! :)

Ah yes Recoba! He was a great player.

Yeah, seems to be a recent thing. ANNOYING.

N'Gog at Panionios! What is going on ? That's ridiculous. I mean, I never thought he was anything special but this is something else.

Any links with highlights or goals ? novasports is braindead and youtube is filled with "Live Streaming" hits these days.

I went to the game at the MCG although I was a kid at the time and don't remember too much. As for the rest of what you're saying, I get it. Those players you mention like Katholos, Patikas, Kalantzis, that was the golden age for us "wogs". Good times, great players.

You've been reported. Expect a visit from Pauline Hanson shortly.

Trance, like a lot of musical genres, can be really average, unoriginal and downright boring. But when it's good, it's REALLY good. @tantra129 do you remember this one ~1994. Oh when that sweet piano kicks in ~2:40.

I think this would be similar to the case with China regarding the South China Sea islands. Turkey wouldn't attend and would consider any verdict as irrelevant. Still, it would give Greece a little moral ground for the future. But that would mean actually having the balls to do it. Which is to say, I don't see this happening anytime soon. As for Russia being an ally, man, they can't even treat their own people properly. The things done to the citizens of Russia by their own governments/leaders are nothing short of horrific. There is a reason why Russia doesn't have any allies. I can't even imagine a world where Russia developed the nuclear bomb before the U.S. It would have looked like something out George Orwell's 1984. Hairy East German armpits anyone ?

FIFA Takes Over Hellenic Football Federation ( EPO )
Bananas replied to Blackhawk's topic in Other Soccer Topics and Issues
@Blackhawk isn't it better than nothing ? Then again, I suppose it all depends what comes of it. -
Ministry of Bourdelia ?

Are there any statistics on how many high school students are missing out on a University Education, due to the apparent lack of places ? Is it 1 in 10, 5 in 10, worse than that ?

I agree, but how can the situation improve when in Greece you have families with lots of influence and history in politics getting into Parliament or other highly influential positions. Can you imagine if in Australia, John Howard or Paul Keating put their son or daughter forward as a candidate ? The ridicule! Oh, the ridicule would be huge. But in Greece, not only is there no ridicule from the media but the population overall don't really see a problem. And it is a problem. It always has been and always will be. Greece invented democracy but I dare say it also invented nepotism.

I think what Greece fears is that if we were to shoot down a Turkish plane, that this could be the catalyst for a "discussion" or series of meetings on what exactly are the rights. We all know that Turkey has a bee in their ass about the Lausanne Treaty. There is nothing Turkey would like more than to "discuss" this and get it revised. And make no mistakes, if such a discussion was to take place, I don't really see the world powers favoring Greece over Turkey. If anything, they would favour Turkey just to put an end to the issue, and let little Greece cry as much as she likes.

Cool! And here I was thinking that you just had a visceral hatred for the kid. My bad. -
Holebas Stops With Greece National Team!
Bananas replied to Greekaroos's topic in Greek National Teams
Defensively I would say Tzavellas is not quite as good as Holebas. But that is counter balanced by the fact that Holebas gets forward a lot more, because well, he just has the instinct, which can leave us exposed at the back. Tzavellas is more conservative in that regard. In attack, Holebas is 3 times the player of Tzavellas. Much more complete and just had that drive to make something happen out of nothing. Stafylidis is still a work in progress but he is showing good signs. If he keeps improving I can see him becoming our permanent left back in a couple of years. Either way you slice it, Greece is the poorer for his having retired. -

Seriously, you should let this obsession go. You keep repeating this "Stafylidis cost us Euro qualification" line ad nauseum. Even if it is the case that he played utterly terribly, what about the other 10 players on the pitch, what about the other players on the bench, what about the EPO, what about the coach ... or coaches, what about the tactics, what about Greece losing to fishermen and out of all this, all this, you point through the big piling mass of errors and shame and somehow single out one player, one lowly player at that, not even a player who is in the starting 11, a player who only gets a run when others are injured, not a key player, a player not expected to be a leader, and you point your finger at Stafylidis and say, "YOU cost us qualification". Yep, everything else about the campaign was perfect, but that Stafylidis, he cost us qualification. Jesus help me.
