Maybe I'm wrong but it appears we let him leave without a fight. It's not a very smart business decision especially since he received a national team call up. He should have been a foundation player, part of the core for the next 5 years unless of course an offer you couldn't refuse came in.

So he wanted to leave? As a team, shouldn't you make every effort to keep a young talented player like that?

After watching the highlights I am even more disappointed. We had plenty of chances to score, hopefully we will take advantage of scoring opportunities on the road. Patience will be key with Ideye because it’s obvious he hasn’t played in a while and will need some games under his belt to regain some form.

Definitely a disappointment but it’s key that we didn’t give up a goal. In order for us to be eliminated AEL will need to defeat us or eliminate us in PK’s.

Not a bad showing considering. Aris will be very similar to last year's squad in that they will possess the ball a lot. The problem will be the lack of individuals that can create space and opportunities, Garcia will be missed in this area very much. Fetfatzidis will need to step up and I hope Duarte will show more once he gets his feet under him. I was extremely disappointed in the goal Atromitos scored, the defense fell asleep, they cannot afford similar play next week because an away goal could prove to be disastrous. Atromitos did not impress at all although, I must admit, Manousos finish was a thing of beauty.

I am more upset with the loss of the Tunisian for the first game, I expect AEL to give us space and counter, I thought Younes would be very dangerous coming in off the bench towards the end of the match. Larsson is more dangerous using his speed but I don't think space will be available for this to happen at Vikelidis but definitely in the return match, hopefully he will be ready to go in a couple weeks. In my opinion, it is very crucial we do not give up a goal at home, it goes without saying I prefer a comfortable victory, but a 0-0 tie would not be all that bad. As far as Gama is concerned, a lot will depend on how quickly he is healing and his mental state. Knee injuries are tricky and differ from person to person. After losing two players to injuries in previous friendly matches the only thing I want to see from this game is healthy players leaving the pitch.

Left fullback is the one position they are definitely looking at after that I'm not certain.

Very true Alex, let's hope our additions in the summer will have the immediate impact the ones in January did. I was reading that AEL will be training in Bulgaria and head straight to Salonika for the first leg, this may bode well for Aris.

The worst possible draw from that group. Greek teams have not fared well against teams from Cyprus recently, I'm curious which team will be favored to advance by the odds makers.

It looks nice but out of place in the middle of a neighborhood. For the record, I'll believe it when I see it.

Like any fan my initial reaction is that of euphoria when I hear names of quality players linked to Aris but then the team's recent history comes to mind and skepticism sets in. Is the owner capable of paying these wages, if not where is he finding the money, will Aris be relegated in 3-4 years because of this etc.....????? It makes for an interesting summer but is it worth it in the long run? Can Karipidis afford to pay all these additions especially if Aris doesn't make the group stage in the Europa Cup competition? To be honest I really don't know what the heck he's involved in or better yet where his money comes from. I just hope Aris is not another get rich quick scheme for him like the team was in previous years for others.

Looks like Daniel Sundgren will play in European competition only if Aris makes the group stage since he will take the field for AIK in the champions league playoff stage.
