Dutch Eagle Posted January 22, 2023 Author Posted January 22, 2023 Tsitsipas had to work hard beating Sinner in 5 sets. Next opponent is Jirí Lehecka from the Czech Republic who defeated seed #6, Auger-Aliassime.
paokarag4 Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 He beat Lehecka 6-3, 7-6, 6-4 and for the third straight year Stefanos is through to the semi-finals here at the Australian Open. It will be his 4th semi-final in Australia overall but unlike his previous three, he will go into this semi as the favourite. He will take on Khachanov of Russia, who Tsitsi owns a 5-0 record against. 1
Dutch Eagle Posted January 29, 2023 Author Posted January 29, 2023 Semi: Stefanos - Karen Chatsanov 3-1 in sets. Final: Stefanos - Novak Djokovic 0-3. A pity he couldn't beat his opponent and win his first Grand Slam. 1
Dutch Eagle Posted January 14, 2024 Author Posted January 14, 2024 2024 R 1: Maria Sakkari (seeded #8) - Nao Hibino (Japan) 6-4, 6-1 Next opponent Elina Avanesyan.
Dutch Eagle Posted January 14, 2024 Author Posted January 14, 2024 Stefanos Tsitsipas (seeded #7) faces lucky loser Zizou Bergs from Belgium in the first round.
paokarag4 Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 After a tough start, Tsitisipas overcomes the Belgian qualifier 5-7, 6-1, 6-1, 6-3. Next up he'll face an Australian, the winner of the Thompson-Vukic match-up.
Dutch Eagle Posted January 17, 2024 Author Posted January 17, 2024 Sakkari can travel to her boyfriend. Lost 6-4 and 6-4. Tsitsipas won 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 and 7-6. His next opponent is Luca van Assche from France.
Dutch Eagle Posted January 19, 2024 Author Posted January 19, 2024 6-3, 6-0 and 6-4 against Van Assche. Next hurdle is Taylor Fritz (the #12 seed from the USA).
paokarag4 Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 Much tougher opponent for him next up, he does own a 3-1 H2H record over Fritz. They played at the Australian Open back in 2022, with Tsitsipas prevailing in a 5 set epic.
Dutch Eagle Posted January 21, 2024 Author Posted January 21, 2024 Stefanos is out. Lost 6-7, 7-5, 3-6 and 3-6.
Dutch Eagle Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 2025 R1 Men: Tsitsipas (seeded #11) - Alex Michelsen (USA) R1 Women: Sakkari (seeded #31) - Camila Osorio (COL)
paokarag4 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 The Tsitsipas slide continues, he is bundled out in 4 sets to the unseeded American Michelsen. His form over the last 12 months suddenly and quickly dropped off at an alarming rate. He is already ranked outside the top 10, with this form he will easily find himself out of the top 20-25 in the coming months. I hope he can get it together again and become relevant in terms of potentially winning a Grand Slam, but right now that seems a world away. He needs to arrest this form-slide and start by beating the guys he should be taking care of.
Dutch Eagle Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 Sakkari too. Lost 4-6, 7-6 and 4-6. So the Aussie Opeen 2025 is over for the Greeks. Will they be back on 2026?????
