(temporary ban) I mix the words alot....but even so the warning, supsension are all just way too much. Also that the "warning levels" never reduce are pretty ridiculous. These measures are to prevent spammers, mischieviers - we all know the type that goes into forums solely to curse out and make dumb comments (much like on Youtube groups where moderation is so difficult) but Madboy was just citing a quote... they know him, they know hes not a trouble maker, and its just a power trip for them. Same happened to me earlier over one dumb comment. We are regular members, we dont start trouble and its stupid that for reciting a chant you make a warning an suspension (instead of doing the simple thing and censoring out the words - even if that was warrenated) We are all practically friends on this site, we debate, discuss in the PAO forum agree and disagree very well.... Using power like this is just so ridiculous, MadBoy13 has been on these forums contributing practically forever, the supsension, the unnecesary punishments are just ridiculous. He contributes everyday to this forum and is never saying anything bad. Why cant the mods just admit theyve gone too far? ? Why does everything on Phantis have to be about power on every little detail? This kind of exertion of excess power (onto lasting, old members that never cause a problem, and foul language is the most MINOR problem) is what drives existing members away... I understand being harsher on new members - but its users you KNOW at this point... Anywyas If a mod would like to respond or PM me, I would appreciate it. Were all friends here in a sense. It's part of the football fan culture, whether you like it or not. Whoever the mod was, allow me to pose this question to you please. You speak of being civilized... what constitutes a civilized society? Is it not the provision of options? Is it not freedom of speech? MadBoy13 did not incite racial hatred or attack a member here, he posted a chant which contained swearing. So what? If you don't like it you have the option not to listen to it, if someone does want to appreciate the atmosphere they have the option to click the link and see it. We are all adults and as civilized individuals we should have the option of choosing what to observe. Censoring another memeber's comments (regardless of whether he was banned or not) has no logical basis. Our civilized countries have acknowledged movies such as the Godfather and series' such as The Sopranos as masterpieces. There are paintings which are reminiscent of pornography, yet they are hailed as masterpieces. So I ask you, what determines civility? For me, the atmosphere that Gate 13 created at the volleyball final was a masterpiece. It was more beautiful, emotional and passionate than any theatre production I've ever seen. For you, it may have been distasteful, but you cannot undermine someone else's views as uncivilized because they diverge from yours. So I ask again, what determines whether something is civilized or uncivilized, please explain. P.S. I'm not picking a fight or anything, I'm humbly posing these questions because imo Madboy13 has been a gentleman since he's been here and it's a pleasure reading his posts. But at times some of the mods go power-crazy. God knows I've said some things and have deserved my warnings, but this is a nutty case of censorship. Hes young, and hell be ideal for a rotation role on the team. As he matures hell take the top spot, unless he does well enough to snag it , which is possible. Kiliaras is a good player and a player I have been pulling for PAO to go for.... I really hope we sign him. And just because we sign a player doesnt mean his role is on the starting lineup guys. Thats silly to assume. Kiliaras would be well suited to rotate and as he matrues take a spot. Well see. But hes been a big talent for Ergotelis, creative player, scored some nice goals even, and could be a great signing. The Greek talent we get simply does better on average.....in Greece and Europe - they must just settle much better or have more ambition to be with PAO - but theres gotta be something behind this phenomenon. I think seriously the PEK - Tzigger era is goign to be exactly the same- but plus more money for transfers in the next few years..... Right because spending had been the problem and not the levels of management and the terrible USES of the money we had.... BUT lets wait for our first signing.. So right 2 weeks before the trasnfer window closes to make most signings sound good to everybody? You know, so the new signings wont be ready till 1-2 months into the season, and wont be settled as they missed preseason camp? A succesful trasnfer season will have the BULK of our signigns done and ready and AT the preseason camp.... Pulling the same crap like the last years and waiting forever to buy big players is simply pointless and wastes time.....I remember we bought Nilsson (DESPERATELY NEEDED RB as Vyntra was in the worst form of his life) and he couldnt play for 2 months..... Can anybody clarify as to exactly what has happened? Drako, I don't know details since I don't think they have been put forth yet.All I know is that Tziger is not selling 50% of his shares. He is keeping his own (which along with the 10% that erasitehnis always held made up the 100% of the team up to now). Instead, they are increasing the "metoxiko kefalaio" by 80 million Euro. This 80 million is going to be added to the 50% Tziger owns and to the 10% erasitehnis owns. It turns out that for Tziger to still be at 50% after all that, he still has to put 7 million Euro on top of what he has already. So really, pending real details, the new share owners are called to add to the pie about 80 Euro and it will amount to 40%. Common sense dictates that the new capital will not go simply to buy players (that would be a waste since players wont be around after a few years). Instead, it will probably create an endowment so the team should operate out of the interest that will be returned. To make this simpler, the largest portion of the money will be invested. Then the team will have a steady income out of the interest to use for their day to day needs (salaries, infrastructure, travel, ads, etc). So, the way I understand this, and any people with financial expertise please jump in, the team should be worth about 160 million Euro in the end. A tiny portion of this would go for imediate needs like new transfers (a rumored 20 million), the rest will be invested in different places (diversity will give best security). With the interest returned on such capital then the team should have a steady income for years to come. For example, if they invest 100 million Euro, they could reasonably expect at least 3% per year. that's 3 million euro (which is not much) that will be added to receipts and all other income. Ideally, they should be getting higher return rates in their investments, and I guess this is where the strength of Vgenopoulos will come handy. I would expect a reasonable 6-8 % return per year. That's all I know now. The details are still worked out between Tziger, Vgenopoulos, and all other known interested parties. I suspect they will put in restrictions so they won't be surprised when they put out the call. For example, they might not want someone they don't like to get in and own a huge share of the team. Then, they might want to put a limit on how many shares one person can buy (I am not sure if they can do this, but it would make sense). Also, if there is a core of investors that want in, they would want to make sure they are not squeezed out by surprise last minute investors. It's interesting to watch, and in my mind, it has huge potential to help the club become a european powerhouse. It could also easily end up in in-fighting that could hurt the team. In terms of investment, I think this is how it's going to work out. In terms of the football operations, it's almost definite that Tziger won't be alone in making the decisions, although his voice will be powerful (owning most of the shares). The way it should work, the share owners will stay out of the football operations. They will come up with a system for establishing a president who will then be responsible for putting together a group of people that will run the club - including football operations. Tzigger is the CEO of ANEK lines (boats) that has a revenue of $180 mil. much higher than PAO. And, kid-toy Jumbo with 280 mil/year! Bet you didn't know about this.... Correction: Tzigger isn't the CEO. Another Yannis V. is the CEO. What I'm tryint to say is that the PAE are rather small businesses, even compared to other middle-size Greek business.
