Greece to play Turkey sometime end of May. Also the EPO is trying to get friendly matches with Austria and Germany that would be very intriguing. Coach Ange has asked to have players released from their club duties so that he can hold a 10 day mini camp. I like the direction he is taking and it looks like EPO is starting to get themselves behind the NT again.

We are stocked with CB and Goalies going forward. Lets see what will happen at the striker position will koulouris step it up and be the next Mitroglou?

A win vs Italy and then another vs Armenia will also help give us a bump up in the FIFA rankings as the draw for 2022 world cup which takes place in July.

Also forgot how close Greece came to qualifying for the 1998 world cup. We needed a win at home vs Denmark and we couldn't get one past Schmeical and it ended 0-0 with Denmark going through in top spot three points ahead of Greece I thought Croatia had secured top place but they finished over us for 2nd and went through via playoff. Wow that was so tough coming that close to making it. Whenever there is a world cup held in Europe we haven't qualified but we have come so very close in 1998, 2006 & 2018.

Just thinking positive ? I like how the team has played on the attack under Ange. The first game even though we only scored 2 vs Liechtenstein they could have easily put in 5 goals if not for some bad finishing. In Bosnia we scored 2 again, and we had Bosnia on three heels. Fortounis had one on a plate in the first half and blasted it over the net. Also in the second half Kolovos had a half volley saved in the box and a few more grade a chances that didn’t go in. So if we can keep up the same offensive pressure going into the next two matches I like our chances. If we play with the same attacking style as we saw vs Bosnia we can get a win. Throw Manolas and Toro back into the lineup and we look pretty tough.

Finland will push Greece hard for 2nd place. I think Finland will get a win in Helsinki vs Bosnia (though a draw would be better for us) Greece play there in September it will be a tough test hopefully Greece can come out with a win and after that game hopefully we're on 13 points and in first place in the group.

Watched highlights of Greece at Bosnia in Euro 2008 qualifying a 4-0 win were the Ethniki smashed Bosnia. Katsouranis scored the 4th goal with a beautiful lob over the goalie. What a goalara!!

I still can’t believe how Greece could not top a group with Finland, Hungary and Estonia. Also finishing below Hungary in 3rd was pathetic, Skibbe screwed us here as it would have been good to have a NL playoff spot in our pocket just in case, though I do believe Greece will finish in top two.

I think they will be lucky to tie Finland especially without Pjanic. Also Finland are tough at home recently not giving up a goal in nations league matches.

Yes Im curious to see how Ange will slot in all the guys that missed the first 2 games. Manolas, Torosidis, pelkas etc should be back. Bakasetas should not get called up. Italy will be the toughest test in this group so if Greece get 3 points here it will set us up very well with a home date vs Armenia to follow Gotta watch out for Moise Kean he's been in great form.

Ya I just want us to qualify first and foremost its great to see Greece play in tournament football. I think if the team keeps getting better and the younger players step it up then maybe they can get passed the group stages and even further with a good draw. Just avoid the powerhouse teams like France, Belgium and Spain.

Hopefully Greece win there next 2 euro qualifiers and keep climbing the rankings. Tunisia at 28 is absolutely ridiculous and Romania at 25 they should be below us.

I think Ange will go with Mitroglou if he's healthy going into match vs Italy based on his overall experience. I would like to see Koulouris given a chance. I can't wait for the match vs Italy. I know and play football with lots of Italians and to beat them would be something else.

The team played excellent attacking football vs Bosnia and they created numerous chances. Mitroglou would have potted a goal vs Liechenstein in the 2-0 win with all the chances that were wasted and maybe with the great service he might have scored against Bosnia. A few headers fell to Donis that he couldn't direct in. Also the great chance that Fortounis blasted over the bar I think Mitro puts that one away. He needs to get into better game shape but if the team gets him the ball in these danger areas he is usually clinical.

Good to know, I have a good feeling Greece will challenge Italy for 1st place in the group.

I don't see Bakasetas being called up for the Italy and Armenia matches. Ange saw that he couldn't perform in a big rivalry match vs Bosnia and he couldn't perform well vs lowly Lichtenstein. The guy is not NT material. We have a nice pool of talent to draw from, plus add in Manolas, Retsos and Torosidis for the next matches and the team looks very formidable.
