J1078 I share your frustration but Greece can go and beat Finland. Finland are decent but who do they have that we should fear Pukki, Sparv. Lod? Aside from there Gk who plays at Leverkusen none of them play at a big European club. They even have a couple mls players from Montreal and Minnesota lol.. If Greece get united and stop the bickering and start games without conceding silly goals then this team can beat Finland, Bosnia and Armenia for sure.

Things have gone south since March when Greece fought hard and came back to draw Bosnia and everything was looking positive. Then this last week we lost in an uninspired effort to Italy and we gave up another 3 goals to Armenia although going forward we put pressure on them and at least could have tied the game. Everyone from EPO, the coach and the players are to blame. I want friendly games but why the heck did the EPO schedule a friendly with Turkey and in turkey. Also knowing that we were missing some key players, there's no such thing as a friendly with turkey. That loss gave us negative vibe going into the two qualifiers. Also as many here have said what was Ange doing and saying to the majority of the players at the training camp in Holland. I thought it would help the team especially to work on the defensive aspect to our game but they come out and again conceed early goals to the Turks and then give up three in the first half of the Italy match and then inexplicably were down two to Armenia of all teams at home no less. Greece have a good pool of players I'm not saying we the France, Belgium or Spains but we have players to take 2nd place in this group and to push Italy. Some of the players with there huge egos are willing to mess up a chance for the European Championship over petty differences with the coach and it has just cost us at least three vital points. I hope they all get there s%$#! together and reconvene with clear heads for September and we can definitely go and beat Finland they are not some huge footballing nation. They are playing disciplined right now but they have never qualified for any tournament and with the pressure on them they will fold..

Good analysis, Manolas too his credit was standing cheering the team on and you could see the agony in his face when they were down. The EPO keeps screwing everything up they should have hired someone other than Angelo after they fired Skibbe perhaps we wouldn’t be sitting on 4 points after 4 matches in a relatively easy group and having our key players saying they will retire because of the current coach. Greece needs to get back to stability as we had during the Rehhagel/ Santos years. Looks like we will soon be on to our sixth coach in five years that’s what you see happening to the likes of Bulgaia, Romania, Hungary’s etc..The EPO needs to spend more money for the best available coach and stop this carousel.

It was a very frustrating match with Greece down 2 goals again at HT from stupid mistakes but we dominated the Armenians and found a few goals but unfortunately it wasn’t enough. If they quit the bickering and focus on football they can definitely win the games vs Finland, Armenia, Bosnia and bottom feeders Liechtenstein as we clearly have the better squad over these teams. At Italy will be difficult but by that time the Italians may have wrapped up top spot and not play some starters, so getting a draw maybe possible. Will see at least the team has a few months off & maybe we will have a new coach if not then hopefully Sokratis and Manolas can cool off and re focus on the task at hand.

Beat SAN Marino Euro 5-0, U 21 qualifiers.

Things are getting out of hand, Sokratis and Manolas have told the EPO to fire Ange as they are angry about Torosidis being left of the squad. This is a contributing factor to the results this past week, the players who are there should focus on getting results and not who didn’t get a call up. For God sakes we are trying to qualify for a Euro, this is the most important thing for the team and the country.

The players have to take the majority of the blame for always starting of sluggish and gifting away early goals. Overall we dominated with 17 shots and 70% possession in the end we were unlucky to not equalize and Armenia had some luck on there side on the third goal the ball is smashed of the post and it falls directly to Barsegyhan who is surrounded by 5 Greek players and he puts it away. This is hard take and it’s an uphill climb but on paper our team is better than Finland, Bosnia and Armenia. If they can start off better and cut out the sloppy play than we should beat Finland in September.

Davies is there only player I would take. I guess will see how they do in the Gold cup, but while there playing countries like Martinique, Cuba and Mexico (Mexico are good but highly overrated) Greece are grouped with a 4x World Cup winner in Italy. Canadas men’s team will only qualify for a World Cup as host in 2026 and that’s if FIFA allows it, my two cents.. Pa Me Ellada!!
