Yes just complete stupidities from him to Sokratis & manolas. Greece should have topped the NL group. Finland are average side at best and to not go over Hungary is unreal. Had we got a draw in Finland in Euro qualifying and won at home vs Armenia & Liechtenstein. Greece would be 1 point ahead of ?? with the upcoming last game in Athens determining second place. Now that Sokratis & Manolas got there wish and got Ange fired they thought they would get control of the NT and be untouchable but JVS may never call them up again if the team keeps the results coming and with the other options we have in the back they have fallen down the pecking order.

Masouras miss was incredible. We should have had a 4-0 win. Limnios was tremendous, just imagine Fortounis in this lineup the last few games. Can't wait to have him back.

Yes. A dominant performance should have been 3-0. Masouras missed one of the easiest goals you will see. There Gk made a few incredible saves. Greece has 60% possession and 20 attempts. Wait until we have Fortounis in the lineup. JVS has us playing fluid attacking football. Just need to work on the finishing. I'm looking forward to WCUP qualifying give us England or Switzerland in pot 1 and will be competitive.

Great first half for ?? dominating possession and numerous attempts. Was that not a penalty on Giannoulis who got clipped and he got a yellow card for simulation?

Sokratis piss poor attitude

Sokratis let his game slip due to his on going dispute with Ange. This cost Greece three points at home vs Armenia where we conceeded three goals. Losing those three points was a huge blow and add on the lost points to Liechtenstein were manolas got beat on the goal. That's 5 points gone and had we got those wins we would be right in the thick of things with Finland for qualification.

Anyone know what's going on with Manolas? I see he hasn't played in the last few games with Napoli.

Definitely especially the way we played the last match vs Bosnia. If the team shows the same attacking play, ball movement and pressing than Greece should get six points and this will help us move up the FIFA rankings but most importantly it will help the morale of the team going forward.

Hope Koulouris can get on the sheet.

Good stuff. In regards to Sokratis i heard him say he would retire after this euro but I don't see him walking away just yet. I think he will want to go out on better terms and not the way everything has gone down recently. He is still very useful and I watched him today with Arsenal his defending was solid and he scored a goal and another that was taken away by VAR. If he is committed and wants to be a team player for the Ethniki than I think JVS should not rule out using him. He is getting up there in years but the key is to have him help us qualify for the WCUP and then will see if he can help us should we make it to Qatar.

Ya they are great players. I have Italian friends who can't believe they were left of the NT vs Italy. I'm sure that pissed then off especially Manolas who plays in Serie A. I love the passion Sokratis shows on the field but unfortunately there is a disconnect. Manolas is a fabulous defender but he has been termed a "tricky" character. If the coach sees that they have changed there tune than I wouldn't mind having them called up for Nations league but ATM we have good options at the back.

We have lots of options in the back. A solid and consistent #9 is what we lack. Hopefully Pavlidis can continue to develop. I'm not to sure if Koulouris is NT material, he is a good club player but he seems to lack confidence with the Ethniki. He should have finished his chance vs Italy it was a huge turning point in the match. I doubt Mitroglou in that position would have missed. I don't mind seeing Koulouris get a few more chances though and will see from there.

Greece have to keep getting results we should never be sitting 58th in the world rankings. Tunisia meanwhile sit in 29th?

JVS seems to have changed the culture and mentality of this team in the few months he has been in charge. JVS said everyone thinks of Greece as a defensive first side but he wants to play more attack oriented system going forward as we saw vs Bosnia. There is still a lot of work to be done but one could only imagine how far ahead Greece would be had he had been hired from the beginning of the Euro qualifies. Greece have lots of promising young players going forward and I'm not sure if Sokratis or Manolas will see a call up especially if we get good results the next few games in November.

Let's hope they can keep it going into next months qualifiers. The team hasn't played that well since the 2nd half in Bosnia when we pulled back 2 goals and could have had a winner. Hatzidiakos, Limnios and Pavlidis were fantastic and Stafylidis has been solid in the last two games. Having Fortounis back healthy and his quality in the squad will make us even tougher to beat. Donis I hope can stay healthy he is very dangerous in attack was taking on the Italians with great pace as we saw him do to the Belgians. Throw in Fetfa and the team looks fantastic. What could have been if the EPO had hired JVS at the start of this euro campaign.

Yup looks like JVS will not allow the NT to be turned into a circus as was the case before his arrival. I like how he keeps saying that when the players are called up they are coming to Greece to work and not to vacation.

Finland is all but in. Serbia have a playoff spot already but is not likely going to overtake Portugal for 2nd. Romania are in third place in there group. Anyways it's a bit confusing but if we can squeeze in it would be awesome and if Greece play as they did vs Bosnia I think we would have a good shot vs Serbia, Scotland etc.. Its a shame EPO didn't hire JVS from the start of this campaign. Looking back at our results Greece should have had 8 more points which would have us ahead of Finland. Ah such a waste...
