Ioannis Fetfatzidis ‒ (Now Playing for Aris)

I'd put mantalos over fetfa and samaris over maniatis if all 3 of our cb's are available I'd play them all instead of tachtsi. fetfa perhaps as a free roaming winger -
guys, if we don't have manolas and sokratis our two best players we are severely diminished as a team. it doesn't mean we don't deserve to be in the world cup, it means we're unlucky. what would bosnia be without pjanic and dzeko? that's how vital these two are to us. manolas is one of the top interceptors in the game today and is pivotal to our counter-attack.

ibarbo and fetfa on the wings with berg up top would be so entertaining. -

fetfa G. dis the few times he's played for the ethniki he's never dissapointed to my recollection. -
vellios is faster than mitro but they're both not fast. good strength tho, both of them. fetfa and holebas would be nice on the wings
-
the only position they have an edge on us is pjanic but mantalos and fortounis combined is arguebly just as good as just having it in one player. our cb's are better manolas and sokratis vs. spahic. dzeko = mitroglou begovic = karnezis everything else we have an edge over them for the other 6 positions. I agree with greekaroos tho, we have to take the drivers seat and not show fear. face them loud and proud.

good points maggica. playing defensive football might be wise given the circumstances. perhaps a backline of staf, kpaps, manolas, sokratis.
-
my prediction 2-1 Greece vs. Bosnia Dzeko scores first half. Mitroglou & Fortouni to get back in the second half.
-
ninis should start vs. belarus and if he plays extremely well maybe against bosnia fortounis and mantalos are tried and true at the moment otherwise so it's not the end of the world if ninis gets overlooked, even tho it's not right
-
this but might as well put kpaps in there for 3 cb's instead of maniatis and pretty much perfect lineup. high probability skibbe would play this too.

wasn't portugal the best 3rd placed team when they won it?
-
yeah for instance denmark has struggled to qualify past 10 years but they're a great side and way better than some of the other sides that get in logistically it would be too much to have teams flying to other continents for games.

skibbe also hasn't started holebas. starts clubless tziolis and maniatis. doesn't include ninis and fetfa in the squad. decisions that a lot of us wouldn't have made either. as long as he gets us results he can do whatever he wants but i think these decisions will catch up to us when we're playing more formidable foes. -
hey man totti is still tearing it up at 40. giati oxi? :P

he was our best player in the colombia match an the colombians rated him highly after that. great bicycle kick, outside box shot, and short passes. people thought his potential would be higher and would replace karagouni I think that's going to be done by mantalos now (fortouni is our best attacking mid but mantalos has more similar character to karagounis. fortounis imo a new type of greek attacking footballer that we haven't seen before to my knowledge. fortouni is the product of a more sophisticated training regume which greek facilities in the past have lacked. getting tutored by dominguez helps too.)

the greek aguero pedia :P see what I mean by playing him cf? his positioning is key for the box not on the wings. (he gets easily closed out on the wings cause he's not THAT fast and doesn't have the best first touch) his strengths are his shooting + positioning -
so close to the bosnian game.. not sure if it's a great idea or not. unless we use it to play players that skibbe isn't sure about = fetfa, ninis, kone etc.

one of the flaws i think is we're comparing our best to other people's average. yeah if Greece is at it's best we can be top 15 or more but it's turbulent still. greece at it's best is better than bosnia at their best, but if pjanic and dzeko are firing on all cylinders we can be in trouble and a great greece is hard to come by these days. our current form though is good results wise.
