lazaros with some rocket shots in the final and a goal (albeit a glykos error) especially with all our injuries and he's explosive on the wings. pelkas is also maturing nicely with that rocket against pao

where was pelkas? glykos with a typical amazing save and amazing error lol. lazaros should be given an NT nod now with all our injuries especially.

Kostas Mitroglou ‒ (now playing for Aris)
georgelaz replied to js1000's topic in Greek Players Abroad
yea he would cause Icardi and Giroud are better. I'm a huge Mitroglou fan and have always said he should always start for the NT cause he's a class above our other options even when barely anyone said he should. Icardi is captain at inter at like 22 and is only going to get better. Giroud not only is better than Mitro at striker but he's also a playmaker. Benfica is his sweet spot. -
Sokratis Papastathopoulos ‒ Betis Sevilla

sokratis has elevated to superstar level this season. I haven't watched Hummels closely, but I think he's had a better season. -

he'd get benched to oblivion imo at those clubs. makria -
we're more likely against bosnia still imo. the core of the group is sokratis, manolas, mitroglou, karnezi, fortounis. every other position has decent replacements I think. belgium I think will play harder against us next round cause they'll know what we're all about + they'll likely have hazard and de bruyne who are game changers.

not bad at all. only tough teams are portugal and italy with that. we also got a pedigree against portugal.

AEK vs PAO - Spiros Louis Olympic Stadium

we should get Bendtner for the clout ninis is better thaan villa and lod. mboku is a winger. we shouldn't have got rid of Karelis. -

I don't actually monitor him a lot but his skill set is not one that deteriorates with age. His strengths are his passing, vision, shooting. All of which he can preserve into his 30s eg) Karagounis though they both were pacey when younger as most players tend to be. That was never the focal point for ninis imo. ninis tends to do well with a classy striker eg) Mitroglou and Cisse. It ups his game when he has motivation that his passes will likely lead to a back of the net opportunity. -

why siopis never? I think ninis has a comeback in him. kone as cf behind berg I could see chemistry. -

the trick to accomplish that is if the players are greek for our budget. I'm thinking ninis+siopis+kone -
dzeko in top form. 33 goals most ever by a Roma player beating out Totti. We have our hands full against Bosnia who will have a chip on their shoulder going into Zenica. hopefully this works in our favour as they'll play emotional and we'll play cerebral and absorb their attacks. lol we might be one of the most frustrating sides to play against. Dzeko pulling Sokratis's pants down. Tzavellas getting his mustache pulled by Mertens. Gives an aura of Euro 2004 where we frustrated the likes of Ronaldo and Henry.

nice game for sure. aek has a nice lil midfield going with bakasetas, lazaros, mantalos berg was clutch as usual. to be we couldn't get this kinda form during europa which we could actually do well in -
how does PAO have 2x more posts than oly on here? lol i guess oly fans are bored of constant winning whereas us pao fans have the goal of taking them down which is more inspiring

no cause two of mitroglous biggest assets are his heading + poaching. He's a pure striker. If we play him as a cf his lack of pace won't allow him to utilize that. our true best lineup Mitroglou Fortounis Fetfa Tachtsi Samaris Staf Sok (C) Kpaps Man Toro Karnezis Subs - Karelis CF Mantalos CAM Holebas LW notable backups Kapino, tzavella, kone, siovas, gianniota, zeca, siopis This is obviously a pipe dream.
-
will most likely be zeca. he's not as bad as you say he's basically what Maniatis was in like 2012 who do we have available? seems like our midfield would be = fortounis, zeca, mantalos, kpaps, gianniota out = samaris, tzavellas, tachtsi? we don't actually have a lot to worry about missing players because while our midfield isn't that good, all our replacements are equally as good. eg) for tzavella we just put in staf as LB and then gianniota can assume stafs wing duty. only midfielder I'd be annoyd not to start is fortouni and fetfa (who never starts)

Ioannis Fetfatzidis ‒ (Now Playing for Aris)
georgelaz replied to js1000's topic in Greek Players Abroad
we could really use him but i doubt skibbe is going to call him up mantalos is okay but I think fetfa would've been more dynamic vs. belgium would prefer our midfield being tachtsi, samaris, fortouni, fetfa and karelis cf as the main staple + mitroglou as st fetfa is a wild card who can make something out of nothing and he has pace that we don't have a lot of in the midfield. -
we still can grab points from them in athens but they'll likely be tougher via hazard and de bruyne and they'll come at us harder
-
nabbing 1st from belgium would be glorious.
-
it was a team effort. kapino double save on the lukaku header preserved the draw. tachtsidis in midfield is nice. being able to win headers in the midfield is so valuable + pinpoint passes. Samaris with the defensive heavy lifting. weakest link was probably fortounis he was pretty invisible and isn't having the best season compared to last year.
