tziolis actually had a very good game. a goal and closed spaced up in a way that Samaris didn't vs. belgium. fyi sokratis is an 86 is in fifa LOL this squad would be so much better with holebas and fetfa. but at least we have donis and an in form laz now. -

fortounis was winning tackles in the midfield and creating chances and getting into good positions to score. he was solid imo. there was some chances that mitro should have passed to fortounis but chose to shoot on bad angles. Mitroglou on a bad angle vs. fortounis on wide open might be equal chance at a goal though lol. -
northern ireland revenge? We have a chance against all the teams but they're all decent as well. I'd prefer to face northern ireland or denmark I think. italy/portugal are the toughest...

mantalos has been just as solid as laz though and laz has been out of NT for 3 years. too dicey of a game to just put new blood in. I think his decision was sound. A swap for mantalos for laz in second half though would be wise. -

fortounis nice hustle. he won like 2-3 tackles in midfield. would be nice to get some more goals to up for goal differential. we have a decent one because of our defense... not sure how we'll stack up in playoff positions... cyprus is looking better.. there's so many greek flags in cyprus -

cudos to bosnia for scoring 3 on a pretty solid belgian defense. (obviously not that solid this game but still) -

2-2 told ya'll. bosnia can't defend for s%$#! lol. hopefully the choking continues... and greece gets clutch. leave it to the NT to make qualification as exciting as a world cup final lol... -

still early.. belgium can score but kinda odd that belgium aren't starting either Lukaku or Benteke.. Mertens isn't a proper striker Hopefully we can qualify. If we don't, we lost qualifications by inches. The Mantalos sitter, the Estonia game, the Staf post... -
if anything we can use zeca as RB. he'd be way better there than RM when toro is not available/after world cup.
-
tzav is solid. he's a good crosser, free kicker and quite strong for a LB. Hence why he also plays CB. Realistically though it should be Holebas, Staf and Tzav as a meaty bench option. We're already really blessed at CB position with our big 3 + Retsos now but Lisgaras is also very solid. He's way old too come into the scene now but he's very similar to Kyrgiakos.

if kpaps is healthy, he's an automatic starter. we must adjust the lineup for him to play. he's not only a great defender. he's extremely great on set pieces because of his aerial ability. The Greek Sergio Ramos in that regard haha ;) also LOL -
Yeah I'm not super huge on Manias but Kaltsas I think is quite good especially considering our winger dilemma. We got Lazaros back now though so not that important. Giakoumakis is also quite decent of a striker and younger, like 22 Striker wise though I'd rank it still Mitroglou, Karelis, Donis, Diamantakos, Bakasetas Winger wise I'd rank it Fetfa, Holebas, Staf, Laz, Kaltsas, Pelkas Though Holebas, Pelkas and Staf aren't true wingers.
-
also Manias who was a top goal scorer in superleague who also plays for Asteras scored 12 goals in 24 games. Which is more than Vellios 11 in 27 games for Iraklis and he's currently in form.
-
I think Kaltsas would have been useful. I rate him higher than Gianniotas but players outside the big 4 in Greece are invisible. I'd rather a player who plays day in day out for asteras at a good level than a second division spanish or german. If you watch Asteras play, you'd see he's the motor of why they've been competitive past years.. and they also just beat AEK who beat olympiakos
-
I like Donis for his creativity/pace but his finishing leaves something to be desired. We need Mitro and/or Karelis up top.
-
manolas seems to care to me. He prevented Lukaku from a complete break away and picked his pocket. There was a bit of a lul in our euro campaign where he seemed like he was slacking thought but this campaign he's been great.
-
You guys think Donis is better as cf/st or winger? Haven't seen enough of him to tell. Donis has good passing but is his crossing sound? Perhaps something like Mitroglou Lazaros Fortounis Donis Tachtsi Zeca
-
lol lazaros is no brainer now he's one of the most in form greek players right now. wondering if Kone can make a comeback at Aek now too... 3-2 Aek - Olympiakos Rocket freekick by laz against kapino http://superleaguegreece.novasports.gr/VideoId/46378/
