So many names being thrown around but I think we should wait for newbies to at least have one good season as a starter before they make the 11ada. androutsos barely starts for oly. pelka if paok keeps form is more deserving imo. will be more conclusive by summer on who should get called up or not. let's hope that paok's deduction in points is not deciding factor on who wins the league and the true best team wins. really need to consider 3 atb with sokratis, manolas, retsos/kpaps. Bakakis and Staf as wing backs... Mitro Laz ??? Donis ??? Zeca Staf Sok Man Kpaps ??? Karnezis I think the above is undeniable currently to start if starting. ??? pending on form. * marks who's most in form from the below imo. at CAM = fortounis, pelkas*, mantalos at CDM = Samaris, Tachtsi, Galanopoulos*, Kourbelis at RB = Torosidis, Bakakis*, Koutris, Retsos useful subs fetfa karelis bakasetas (beast for AEK this season depth in LM/CAM/CF position... though seems dead weight for NT thus far) tzavellas (gives depth for lb/cb position and steps it up for NT... sorry not sorry.)

pelkas looked way hungrier than fortounis when he fanned that shot vs. croatia and all season. Fortou and Tachtsi have a decent chem at Oly though. Mitro Laz Pelinkho/Fortou Donis Tachtsi/Gala Zeca Staf Sok Mano Bakakis/Retsos Karnezis/Pasxalakis so many question marks because it's pending on form. The line up is becoming more and more clear though. bakasetas, fetfa, karelis, kourbelis, retsos, kpaps though too. mantalos when he returns from injury so many possible scenarios so we should ideally play on who's the best and in form from this

such a shame. might have been the best game all season
-
yeah super easy like what's a title win a few million euros? paying someone to throw something 100 000$ a lot of people would take that offer. possibly 10x + return on investment
-
do you think it's possible that olympiakos plants these hooligans to win points? It's an inexpensive way to win the league. surely PAOK fans can't be that stupid to risk the club winning a title.
-
We need wingers though as second strikers we have our CAM's fortounis, pelkas, mantalos and perhaps kone Donis I think will get muscled off too easily centrally but with his speed and cutting passes will be a powerful weapon on the wings. I'm not sure if anyone in mid table pao should be considered at this point. Gala is playing at a higher level with AEK and is younger too.

mayhaps mitroglou Laz pelkas Donis galanopoulos zeca Staf Sokratis Manolas Retsos Karenezis

it sucks that everyone uses dortmund as a stepping stone. could be an elite club aubamayang lewandowski hummels dembele sokratis reus all in one club would be lethal.

Nikos Karelis ‒ (now playing for Panaitolikos)
georgelaz replied to plato-ny's topic in Greek Players Abroad
glad that he's picking up form. some people were concerned that he'd never be the same after the kind of injury he got. -
they both been solid all season. bakakis too besides getting muscled off easily twice he also saved AEKS ass multiple times.
-
great game and the commentators over here said AEK should have the win.though after we made those subs in the 80th minute dynamo looked better on the counter.bakakis got muscled off yet again but also saved our asses a few times too.lazaros MVP for AEK. Great fk nearly a goal.Masoud miss of the year. Like another poster said it's harder to miss that then to score it.Would have been cool if AEK went deeper. I think AEK got too cocky and should have went into Ukraine with an advantage. It's very tough to win up there in the winter. Ask the Nazi's lol.

bakasetas looks damn good this season for aek too.. can play cf/cam/and on the wings. not very pacey but great dribbler and doesn't get knocked over easily. good set pieces too.
-
yeah I like pelkas. he's hungry. especially now that mantalos is out and he's been great for top of the league PAOK this season.
-
will be interesting how the superleague ends. olympiakos is always looming to get back on top. AEK and PAOKs dominance has always felt shaky to me. PAOK and AEK also have tougher schedules with a bunch of derbys coming up.
-
AEK is looking good in europe though. Siopis isn't even starting for Oly though. Tachtsi has been a more key player. But to see what these guys can do good point. Giakoumakis could be interesting but ya only 1 good game for AEK so far.
-
yeah. that's why a euro win is almost as big of a deal as a world cup game. because we all know that a good amount of teams in world cup aren't deserving but because of the continent rations certain teams get through
-
Greek players as I mentioned before peak early 30s. When we won the euro our average age was quite up there age 29. Italy same thing with their world cup win https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/europameisterschaft-2004/durchschnittsalter/pokalwettbewerb/EM04 England is known for fielding youngester. SEe how that's working out for them? Experience is king in knockout round and short group stages where the margin for error is low. Composure is generally correlated with age imo.
-
re he's half black. lmfao. Angolan to be exact. But was born in Austria. Similar to Holebas. Half Greek / Uruguyan but born in Germany. Apparently it's too late now but it sucks cuz he's pacey as F*** and a great crosser/dribbler. signed him to my PAO team in fifa haha.

On his Wiki page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valentino_Lazaro#cite_note-3 and if you understand German, here http://www.krone.at/360673

what happened to anesti?
-
bakakis huge for AEKs win against Oly for the greek cup today. Looks like we finally have Torosidis Successor. Galanopoulos also looks grrreeeat in CM. Two positions we really need filled. fortounis and tachtsidis are also linking up nicely for oly with fortounis cross + tachtsidis header for oly.
-
what are the rules for caps? for example giannou got capped for Greece yet he was able to switch for Australia? (guessing cuz it was just a friendly?)
-
by the way everyone. If you guys weren't aware. Nova provides HD quality highlights for all superleague games for free. Not sure if it's available in all countries but it is in Canada. Enjoy http://superleaguegreece.novasports.gr/

Giakoumakis with the game winner for AEK vs. Olympiakos 90th minute coming on as a sub for Kone at 72. Also tried to hit a scissor kick on a cross that lead to AEKs first goal. Gunna still be tough for him to get a lot of playing time as AEK is blessed at the striker position with LIvaja and Araujo

I love the way he plays when he's in form. So nimble and can create something out of nothing.
