for CAM I don't think goals is a proper measurement of performance eg) modric and de bruyne are world class but don't bag a lot of goals either. passes completed. assists. second assists (which aren't registered), incisive passing etc.

galanopoulos played the full 90. what do you mean lazaros with AEK issue? he's with oly now and scored a few goals in oly's friendlies. edit; unless he's injured which apparently happened on transfermarket. unfortunate. fetfa is looking good tho

did you see the AEK-galatasaray game? Mantalos also score in AEKs victory via free kick and 1 assist to Bakasetas as well. It was just a friendly though but gala is a way better team than Basel. Mantalos should also be played centrally. Limnios is a winger and Donis/Lazaros/Fetfa are all superior than Limnios atm.

Dean, I think our best wingers would be Donis & Lazaros for sure. It's very hard to determine because form changes season to season. Fortounis actually looks reborn again this season judging from friendlies so will likely take back the throne as ellas number 10. DM's most in form are Galanopoulos + Zeca.. possibly tachtsi tbh he was one of the better oly players. so total form wise no skibbe hat mitroglou donis fortounis lazaros zeca gala holebas sokrati manolas bakakis karnezis on the right flank you have the AEK chem connection = lazaros / bakakis/gala. lazaros and bakakis in particular put together some tricky overlapping runs. I think biggest question mark is that one CDM spots. Torosidis? = who plays very well for NT now with oly, captain candidate Tachtsi? = who shows up sometimes and sometimes doesn't eg) assist vs belgium and goals and assists vs. AEK in derbys and can distribute very well Samaris? = relegated to squad rotation but when in form our best CM/CDM by far. can also slot back at cdm but also has good reading of playing for interception eg) ivory coast game and defense eg) champions league for benfica where he was motm and dropped back as CB too gala? = young but key player for AEKs superleague win also great chem with bakakis and lazaros if played on the right? kpaps = concede the midfield and play 3atb. when kpaps is available he's a class above our cm's. think of the games all 3 of our cb's starts manolas sokratis kpaps. very few goals are conceded if any at all. (siovas/retsos in case he goes down) zeca = a sure starter. guys work rates put rest of the greeks to shame. not technically gifted but he offers us what maniatis used to offer the NT/ethniki. an engine who can frustrate and take other teams playmkers out of the game. frustrated KDB of belgium (he was non-factor the most in form CAM cuz of lil old zeca). shouldve marked elephantos. kourbelis = pao is struggling so hard now so hard to judge his quality. looked just as good if not better than zeca though when they were together and worked well together for years as a partnership. one of the frew bright lights for pao. fortounis = play fortounis deep and let mantalos get 10 role. let zeca do the dirty work and let fortounis provide the needed link DEEP to the wings/strikers/mantalos. fortounis is nearly double footed too. distrubution skills overall better than tachtsi and not as slow. though tachtsi provides the ability to win long balls with his chest and height. bouchalakis/tziolis/maniatis = dont really consider any of these three over the above 8 unless they somehow get in miracolous form.

never said Samaris doesn't belong in the NT since 2015. in fact he was my avatar up till early 2017. I'm saying Gala's performance last season compared to Samaris's last eason would warrant Gala starting over him. In a 23 man squad Samaris almost certainly should be in the squad.

lazaros was the best player of the greek superleague last season and carried AEK.

galanopoulos but he got called. barely plays though Samaris is quality though when he's in form he's our best cm/cdm

donis fortounis lazaros up top is great. alternatively we also go pelkas mantalos fetfa I think our CM/CDM is our biggest problem

all these moves that oly is making is looking good for the NT if they slide toro to cdm which we desperately need

tziolis did have a good game. I think it was against egypt where we won. Tziolis also got the game winning header vs. cyprus. It's not so much that he's bad it's that he's not good anymore. He's dead weight.

kaltsas's best season for veria might have been as good as ninis's best season at pao and with less quality around him. he was superleague player of the league and bagged 12 goals and 7 assists as a winger with players like berg, mitroglou in form https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014–15_Superleague_Greece ninis I think just had more of a spotlight on him cause pao is a bigger club

one person who never lived up to their talent long term like ninis is kaltsas. dude was dicing up top 4 defenses like it was nothing at veria

nice I'd do karnezis stafylidis manolas sokratis mpakakis ??? zeca donis fortounis/mantalos lazaros mitroglou biggest question mark is that second cm/cdm spot. tachtsi/kourbelis/gala/samaris form pending. from last season for it should be either tachtsi or gala imo but tachtsi's future is unsure and gala barely gets consideration from skibbe

he looks like he has strong bones etc. but I think maybe him being a start at 16 and getting early injuries stunted his ligament development or something and then makes injuries more likely to be recurring

from the little I saw of tachtsidis last season 4-5 games he was one of oly's best players. in derby's etc. he was playing his heart out and won his position in a decently competitive team with gillet ofoa and siopis all fighting for a starting spot I'd put for dm's/cm's zeca, samaris, tachtsidis, kourbelis in that order before androutsos also gala seems more important to AEK than adroutsos to a third placed oly...

dean i disagree about androutsos. he's nowhere near starting 11 over even coming off the bench for greece id take fortounis, mantalos pelkas, fetfa at the cam position over him anyday right now or even donis at cf or karelis as cf over him. fortounis is by far our best 10. even in one of his worst seasons past 4 oly years he's still argueable our best. notice how when fortounis declined in form oly struggled as well? he's the creative engine of the team that's why and by far the best greek team besides AEK of the past decade and PAO in 2010 even when pelkas and fortounis played same time fortounis had the most dangerous chances and although pelkas seems hungrier and more aggressive his first touches were amateur

tzavellas plays great for NT and he has experience, depth at cb/lb, free kicks and crossing ability. He's more squad tho for me than auto starter but he has close ties with skibbe so will be hard to boot him out the line up.

I wish he'd gone to liverpool instead. Arsenal fans are pretty bad in general. Liverpool could win the title this year too and they're shaky with Lovren.

lazaros fortounis and fetfa all being at oly might do wonder for their chem if they find form and become starters too bad tachtsi is likely on his way out. then we also got zeca and donis and hopefully samaris can get his form back
