1st half we were worse LOL I think baka has good technique actually he's just slow which luckily he's aware of and would pass the ball to tsimikas lol I feel like double strikers they'll just be even more isolated. I think mantalos deep or fortounis deep with mantalos cam could work. isn't that what karagounis did? zeca can be our katasouranis lol
-
bakasetas is backup to donis and only played because of his injury. I think Mantalos should play as our 8 with zeca. Mantalos has great hustle and does defend quite hard and hustle maybe something like this mitroglou donis fortounis lazaros zeca mantalos tsimikas sok man bakakis vlacho kourbelis and zeca stalled us getting forward unless fortounis tracked back. everything good was coming from our flanks cuz of tsimikas/bakakis hustling up/down the field. which luckily they have the stamina to do but we need to have central as an outlet too or it gets too predictable (the huns caught on in the 7th minute after we were dominating them up the flanks) so we have one defensive minded cm (zeca) and one attack minded (mantalos) think it could work.
-
I thought fortounis was very very good imo. zeca and kourbelis were not so great today so he tracked back. he took on defenders. got fouled so much too. his crosses were okay except that last dud and i think he set up mitro a few times but mitro failed to get his feet in sync. Mitro seems to be not the best at grounded through balls he's good at volleys/headers and outside box shots. grounded through balls he seems to struggle to cordinated fast enough and gets dispossed. regardless mr. mykonos clinical and tsimikas gets his first assist in his debut. form is king.
-
to be fair kourbelis was looking sloppy and unfocused. Tziolis was better tsimikas made some errors at first and then became one of our best players. Mitroglou kudos finishing on his few chances. we need Donis, Samaris to get back in form. To a lesser degree Stafylidis too but i'm really like Tsimikas right now. Dude was all over the place and takes responsibility.
-
so happy bakakis and tsimikas got the start. we can actually get the ball foward from the flanks now and they're engines. Lazaros was a great super sub. Creating dangerous chances / stealing balls Tziolis impact sub to shut the game down is actually working. He also saved our asses. As long as he starts I don't mind him shutting the game down if he plays like this. Sokratis saved our asses so many times too with timely tackles but that's Sokratis.

I'd ideally want Mitro Donis Fortounis Fetfa Pelkas seems more in form too and I do think he's a decent winger. He plays games there for PAOK LM often and has good games there. I'd ideally want Lazaros when he's in form too but not a full 90. maybe 60 or as impact sub. Same with Torosidis/Bakakis. That refreshing would make our right flank more potent. our left is youthful and talented (donis/staf) though staf has gone MIA
-
wouldn't really want any of the above the start anyways. Lazaros hasn't been as sharp lately and Fortounis has looked great. Mantalos off the bench wouldn't mind as a CAM tho and same with lazaros but not starters.

I want Manthatis to play regular which is too hard to crack at Oly. Wish he was at pao/aek/paok. He would surely get game time there. Him and Donis on the wings would bring pace that we've never had to my memory of greek football. Though pace isn't everything the fact that top teams like PSG (neymar/mpappe), Juventus (quadrado/costa), liverpool (mane/salah), man city (sane/sterling) all heavily rely on pacey wingers I think demonstrates that pace might be king in the modern game. still cheesed that we never called up Valentino Lazaro. He'd be the fastest greek player by far AND has technical skill. though he's far removed from greek football world and is mostly a product of Austrian system so I think most of greek football wasn't aware of him. I discovered him by accident after noticing his greek sounding name
-
I'm PAO as well. Thought most pao fans were anti-gauro? I like all Greek teams though and seeing what AEK did to their team after winning the league makes me prefer Oly as the top greek team. They're better managed and aren't cheap with buying big players and strive to be elite.
-
wouldn't mind up top mitroglou pelkas fortounis fetfa pelkas personally looks good to me on the wing. he's pacey, good crosser, his first touch has improved tremendously and he's had some of his best games playing LM for PAOK eg) cup semi final wing he was LM and was MOTM probably kourbelis and zeca shielding we're missing staflydis badly and skibbe doesn't have the balls to start tsimikas who I personally prefer over lyko I'd want mitroglou pelkas fortounis fetfa zeca kourbelis tsimikas sokratis manolas bakakis vlachodimos might be a bit too much new blood tho
-
fetfa nearly won the game for oly in the 1-1 draw vs. aek forotunis with a beauty goal and bakasetas great header goal to equalize.
-
fetfa just started starting now. after the last nations leagues games. bakasetas was a key player for AEKs league win. seems rationale to me. if skibbe doesn't call him up for the next games though THEN I will be on his case.
-
I'm hoping over time form and injuries pending that this becomes our lineup Mitroglou Donis Fortounis Fetfa Zeca Kourbelis Staf Sok Manolas Retsos Vlacho Samaris maybe if he finds his form again. I don't see this happening but in attack Karelis Donis Fetfa Manthatis that would be really cool / unpredictable / creative / and pacey Mitroglou relies more on build up play and our NT sucks at that hence why he was so good at Benfica. Benfica is a powerhouse in portugal Karelis is more suited for our NTs underdog status. His goal vs. egypt was a breakaway
-
Samaras I think had a great career. He was a vital part of our NT post euro 2004 and was an important part of Celtic when they were actually a very good team. Barca even considered getting him at a time and he almost buried that goal vs. Argentina to get us into knockouts for first time of history and was responsible for us getting into round of 16. If you look at world cup 2014 we were actually close the final if you look at how things panned out (every single team on our bracket the games ended in pks and the final in extra time) fetfa might redeem himself and become a late bloomer. I think fetfa is our best winger when in form. Donis has the potential to be our greatest.
-
watch Bayern vs. Stuttgart Donis and you'll get a glimpse of what he's capable if he reaches his full potential.
-
result wise we basically performed at the level we should. we came 2nd to a group with Belgium and lost to World cup finalist in the playoffs. No shame there really. I'd put it in more of having a tough draw. After we won the Euro we were top seed so we had easier draws for almost a decade until we blew it euro 2016 campaign. That was an easy group Romania, Northern Ireland, Finland etc.
-
fetfa has been looking decent and seemingly won a starting spot at oly now ?
-
I seriously doubt Germany would call him. They're the most stacked country for keepers lol. there is this though and the fact that he represented germany for a lot of under 21 and lower divisions https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2797493-manchester-united-1-of-18-clubs-reportedly-scouting-odisseas-vlachodimos

I like Staf second to Holebas. I like Tsimikas more than Lyko.Tsimikas has insane work rates/pace
-
my ideal line up if everyone was playing and in form (this mostly applies to Samaris right now) mitroglou donis fortounis fetfa zeca samaris holebas sok man retsos karnezis currently form wise I'd probably go with this mitroglou donis fortounis lazaros/pelkas zeca kourbelis holebas sok man bakakis barkas
-
I think alefantos would be good still. If he's good enough for olympiakos he's good enough for the NT
-
me and my buddy discussed who could take over if skibbe is gone he suggested Conte, Morinho (if he gets sacked), Zidane or Wenger I think Mourinho would be great but I think all of the above are too good for our NT sadly. From the above I think Mourinho would do the best job. Portugese highly respect Greece and Mourinho is heavy on the defense. He'd probably start Siovas Manolas Sokratis Retsos Kpaps in the starting 11 and we'd be a wall.

the netherlands win was quite good. (friendly but still) nearly beat belgium in the 1-1
