These players without a contract can sign everywhere and whenever they want. There is no limitation in time or place as the transferwindow sees on a transfer between clubs. Without a contract you don't have to observe the rules of the window. Problem is: The player is considered not good enough. Even not good enough to get a fee. Why would another club get you? The other problem is to stay fit. Just fit is not matchfit as soccer is more than running and endurance.

Pash, I like almost all sports. Football/soccer especially, but basket, cycling, baseball, darts, athletics, rugby. Love to watch it. Only sports I don't like are curling and (sorry Amerikanakia) American Football. Darts is great. Crowds go crazy for all the players, you can suddenly have the momentum and hit every number you want and than miss the easiest check-outs. And then there are the walk-on-girls. Hmmmmmm.
