Blackhawk

Lineup: --------------- Glykos ---------------- Matos - Varela - Crespo - Leovac --- Shakhov ---------- Cimirot ------- Campos ------ Warda ------ Pelkas -------------- Prijovic ------------------

Looks like Brkic, Koulouris and Kace were the healthy scratches. Brkic was left off due to EPO requirements, but I believe Kace had a place in the squad.

AEK qualifies to the final. Too bad, I wanted us to play Olympiakos in the final

The thing is that soccer or anything else in Greece is the reflection of the political situation in the country. As long as that stays the same, so will everything else. Drastic changes on how the country is being run need to be made before we see better soccer (or anything else) in Greece. I agree with jvc. European ban would have made some kind of impact.

paoknola welcome to the forums. Tell us more about yourself. Are you from New Orleans?

I'd say Shakhov, but he's been playing well lately even scoring goals.

Me too. I also think Canas should get a start as well.

Yeah, but he did not grab the ref's nuts, did he now?

We'll need a little luck Thursday. Panathinaikos will rely on counters in order to get one goal. With a little luck we need to prevent that from happening. The sooner we can get the 1:0 lead, the better and then push for the 2nd goal that will send the game to extra time/PK's.

Compared to the distant past Toumba has been a church this season. And what "Panionios incident" are you talking about? Are we making things up now?

I am of the same opinion. We should have scored at least one goal in Athens or at the very least lost only 1:0. I'll be happy if we give it our best effort and whatever comes out of it.

PAO and AEK winning 1:0 with late goals. Too bad could have picked some extra points for playoffs.

to score

1:3 Prijovic getting ready.

You still have a chance of being the koumbaro. No?

I am watching multi game coverage on Antenna. The switch to the PAOK game only when we score.

He is still pissed off Zagorakis fired him from the PAOK coaching position in order to bring in Santos. He is the coach when PAOK lost 7:0 to some 5th division amateur side during pre-season, and then lost to Xanthi in the season opener.

Some friendlies that we will possibly play during the pre-season training are against Shakhtar Donetsk, Club Brugge, and the local amateur side.

What are you talking about? The rules specifically say -6 points. And how is PAOK setting a bad standard? The courts actually applying the law is considered a bad standadr? As for karma, if Olympiakos receives the 6 point deduction, that is the karma really being a bitch for all the p*****es for the past 30 years. What I find interesting is the silence by AEK and PAO in this matter. The original POK is alive and it still rules.

Stathis Psaltis, the actor who appeared in many great comedies died of cancer at the age of 66. RIP

There was a lot that happened during and after the game. Most of that is punishable by fines and fan bans. However the major issue is that if a member of the officiating team is physically or verbally attacked then the fines include points deductions, and in this case the rules say -6 points. The things in this case get complicated. The head of the officiating team, who is from a regional EPO enosi that is controlled by Olympiakos only wrote the very minimum in the match report. However his assistant in this game, who is from the enosi that has been aligned with Savvidis for the upcoming EPO elections was called in front of the court after a request by PAOK and he confessed that he was physically attacked. The question is if the judges will believe him. During the court proceedings PAOK has also asked for the surveillance camera footage to be introduced in court, but that has not happened. All sides have until Monday to produce any additional evidence. Decision is expected on Tuesday.

Hmmm. Linesman from Piraeus has been assigned for this game. The other thing that worries me is Parashos, the coach for Platanias who has a deep hatred for PAOK. We will need to be careful, but we must achieve our goal, and that is a win. Besides Leovac it appears that Canas will be rested for the cup game.

Why can't we have linesmen (I mean lineswomen) like this in Superleague?

BTW if you have nothing else to do, here is a video of the full match (PAOK - Panathinaikos 4:0). The Kostikos goal is around the 28th minute mark.
