Aλλαγές στο Champions League και Europa League από το 2018 ως το 2021Οι σημαντικότερες αλλαγές αφορούν στον τρόπο συμμετοχής των ομάδων στους ομίλους του Champions League, αφού αυξάνεται ο αριθμός των ομάδων που εξασφαλίζουν απευθείας την πρόκριση τους, χωρίς τη διαδικασία των προκριματικών.Οι 26 ομάδες θα προκρίνονται απευθείας στους ομίλους ως ακολούθως:-Οι δύο ομάδες που θα έχουν κατακτήσει την προηγούμενη χρονιά το Champions και το Europa League-Τέσσερις ομάδες από τις πρώτες τέσσερις χώρες στην κατάταξη της UEFA (σύνολο 16 ομάδες).-Δύο ομάδες από τις χώρες που θα βρίσκονται στις θέσεις 5 και 6 της κατάταξης της UEFA (σύνολο 4 ομάδες).-Μια ομάδα από τις χώρες που θα βρίσκονται στις θέσεις 7 ως 10 της κατάταξης της UEFA (σύνολο 4 ομάδες).-Έξι ομάδες θα συμπληρώνουν τις 32 των ομίλων του Champions League μέσω των προκριματικών.Οι τέσσερις ομάδες θα προκρίνονται από τις πρωταθλήτριες ομάδες των χωρών από τη θέση 11 μέχρι τη θέση 55 της κατάταξης της UEFA. (αντι για 5 που ισχυε)Oι υπόλοιπες δύο από τα παιχνίδια των μη πρωταθλητών. (αντι για 5 που ισχυε) Τις θέσεις αυτές θα τις διεκδικούν οι ομάδες που θα τερματίσουν στην 3η θέση στις χώρες που θα βρίσκονται στις θέσεις 5 και 6 της κατάταξης της UEFA (France and Portugal/Russia) και οι δευτεραθλήτριες των χωρών που θα βρίσκονται στις θέσεις 7 ως 15 της κατάταξης.Να σημειωθεί πως οι πρωταθλήτριες ομάδες, που θα αποκλείονται από τα προκριματικά του Champions League μέχρι και τον τρίτο προκριματικό γύρο, θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να διεκδικήσουν θέση στους ομίλους του Europa League μέσω ενός νέου γύρου προκριματικών του Europa League που θα δημιουργηθεί από το 2018.Έως τώρα, την ευκαιρία αυτή την είχαν οι ομάδες που αποκλείονταν στον 3ο προκριματικό γύρο. Οι ομάδες που θα αποκλείονται από τα play-off του Champions League, θα συνεχίζουν στους ομίλους του Europa League.Τέλος, στους ομίλους του Champions League αλλάζει η ώρα έναρξης. Η εκτελεστική επιτροπή της UEFA αποφάσισε από τους οκτώ αγώνες της ημέρας, οι έξι να αρχίζουν στις 22:00 και οι δύο στις 20:00 (πάντα σε ώρα Ελλάδας).Να σημειωθεί πως τόσο στο Champions League όσο και στο Europa League οι προκριματικοί γύροι (συμπεριλαμβανομένων και των play-off) θα αυξηθούν από τέσσερις σε πέντε.Για τη διοργάνωση του Europa League:17 ομάδες θα προκρίνονται απευθείας στους ομίλους χωρίς προκριματικά.-Οι 5οι και οι κυπελλούχοι των χωρών από τη θέση 1 ως 4 στην κατάταξη (σύνολο 8 ομάδες)-Οι κυπελλούχοι των χωρών από τις θέσεις 5 ως 12 στην κατάταξη (σύνολο 8 ομάδες)-Η 4η ομαδα της χώρας που θα βρίσκεται στην 5η θέση της κατάταξης της UEFA.Οι υπόλοιπες 31 ομάδες θα προκρίνονται μέσω προκριματικών αγώνων.-Οι έξι θα προέρχονται από τις ομάδες που θα αποκλείονται από τον τρίτο προκριματικό γύρο και τα play-off του Champions League από το «μονοπάτι» των μη Πρωταθλητών. Άλλες τέσσερις ομάδες θα είναι αυτές που θα αποκλείονται από τα play-off του Champions League από το παιχνίδια των πρωταθλητών.-Οκτώ ομάδες θα προκύπτουν από το νέο προκριματικό γύρο που θα δημιουργηθεί και στον οποίο θα συμμετάσχουν οι πρωταθλήτριες ομάδες που θα αποκλείονται από τα προκριματικά του Champions League (η UEFA τον έχει ονομάσει Europa League Champions Path).- Οι υπόλοιπες 13 ομάδες θα προκύπτουν από τα προκριματικά του Europa League με τη διαδικασία που ισχύει και τώρα.

Now that we played our last European match this season it's time for a recap. We had a rough time in group stage with the two losses against Quarabag, but made up for it with the good results against Slovan Liberec and most importantly against Fiorentina. In the end we managed to reach our European goal for this season, which was qualifying to the Round of 32. If we were little bit luckier in the draw by avoiding Schalke, we could dream of going even further. I would say that our European campaign was very good. Now looking to the future. After today's tie we have accumulated 34.960 points (this can increase if Olympiakos ties or wins in Turkey tomorrow) in the UEFA Team Rankings. We are ranked 57th for the upcoming European season. Unfortunately we could not maintain the level from previous rankings (37.440 points), since we lost the points (11.520) from the very good 2011-2012 season. Even then we should still be seeded in the EL draws, but probably not in the CL qualifying draws. The good thing is that next season we will drop the very poor 2012-2013 season by dropping the measly 2.380 points from our standings. Our goal for next season should be by winning the playoffs and once again give it a try to finally reach the CL group stage. This will not be easy. On top of that UEFA is changing the qualification process next season to complicate things even further.

I think Warda is better than Biseswar. He is younger and quicker. He should be the starter in the big games. Let Biseswar play in the easier games. Henrique is fine, but Ivic should have a word with him to concentrate more on the game. That handball today was very stupid. I was impressed with Poggouras. He preformed well under pressure in a big game. Even saved our ass at the end to keep the game tied. Another decision Ivic has to make is who will be Prijovic's backup. Klaus or Koulouris?

The important thing is that we get some points for the UEFA standings, since we are losing the 11.520 points from the 2011-2012 season in the future standings.
