  1. Wague saved our ass, but it was huge mistake by Giannoulis.
  2. Diego will be gone from the team in January. The writing is on the wall.
  3. Here is a podcast featuring an interview with Dimitris Kalyvas concerning the past, current and future of Greek ice Hockey. Episode 39. Fighting on the Front Lines ft. Dimitris Kalyvas: https://anchor.fm/onthebenchwithbeeks/episodes/Episode-39--Fighting-on-the-Front-Lines-ft--Dimitris-Kalyvas-enb7gc/a-a26fdp5
  4. Let's try to be optimistic. We will win the championship and play in CL qualifying round 1. We will enter the next year's draws with 20.000 points. That should be enough to be seeded in the early rounds of the Conference League and maybe even in the first round of CL. Only 5 years ago we had 40.880 points which steadily eroded to today's 20.000: 2015________40.880 2016________37.440 2017________35.080 2018________29.500 2019________23.500 2020________21.000 2021________20.000
  5. Here is a preliminary access list for the upcoming season (2021-2022). Greece was ranked # 18 for the upcoming European season.
  6. Vieirinha trained today without any issues. Rodrigo is still hurting. If Vieirinha practices without problems tomorrow I see him in the squad and would not be surprised if he even starts. With that in mind my proposed lineup for the game: -------------- Paschalakis ------------- Vieirinha - Varela - Crespo - Giannoulis --- Tsiggaras -- Augusto -- Schwab --- --- Zivkovic --- Swiderski --- Tzolis --- If Vieirnha can't play, than Wague will start. All Dutch crew for this game. Bas Nijhuis is the main ref. It's the same guy who called the Tottenham - PAOK (1:2) game where he red-carded Stafylidis for alleged hand ball. He also called the PAOK - Ostersund (3:1) game at Toumba.
  7. I would have to assume it was just one game suspension. In any case, El Kaddouri is one of our best players this season despite his mistakes in the last 3 games. I think we will miss his play in the game against Aris.
  8. Another European season for PAOK ended today. Today's game was PAOK's 200th game in European competitions. Our record in Europe si as follows: SEASONS PLAYED: 39 (out of 65) GAMES PLAYED: 200 GAMES WON: 72 GAMES TIED: 57 GAMES LOST: 71 GOALS FOR: 268 GOALS AGAINST: 261 We played in all 6 European competitions . The statistics are as follows: CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEASONS PLAYED: 8 GAMES PLAYED: 22 GAMES WON: 5 GAMES TIED: 8 GAMES LOST: 9 GOALS FOR: 31 GOALS AGAINST: 37 CHAMPIONS CUP SEASONS PLAYED: 2 GAMES PLAYED: 6 GAMES WON: 1 GAMES TIED: 1 GAMES LOST: 4 GOALS FOR: 5 GOALS AGAINST: 12 CUP WINNERS CUP SEASONS PLAYED: 6 GAMES PLAYED: 18 GAMES WON: 8 GAMES TIED: 5 GAMES LOST: 5 GOALS FOR: 24 GOALS AGAINST: 23 FAIRS CUP SEASONS PLAYED: 3 GAMES PLAYED: 6 GAMES WON: 2 GAMES TIED: 0 GAMES LOST: 4 GOALS FOR: 5 GOALS AGAINST: 17 UEFA CUP SEASONS PLAYED: 15 GAMES PLAYED: 62 GAMES WON: 22 GAMES TIED: 17 GAMES LOST: 23 GOALS FOR: 90 GOALS AGAINST: 86 EUROPA LEAGUE SEASONS PLAYED: 11 GAMES PLAYED: 86 GAMES WON: 34 GAMES TIED: 27 GAMES LOST: 25 GOALS FOR: 114 GOALS AGAINST: 85 TOP SCORERS 20 - Athanasiadis 14 - Salpiggidis 11 - Mak 9 - Giasoumis 8 - Vieirinha Prijovic Pelkas 6 - Frantzeskos 5 - Dimopoulos C. Maragos Konstantinidis Tzolis
  9. Paschalakis also saved our ass in the first half but you are right about his acrobatics. The other thing I don't like about him is punching the ball instead of catching it. The question is who starts on Sunday. Paschalakis who has a clean sheet for 3 straight games or Zivkovic who has couple bad games at harilaou. This was a meaningless game that was used to give playing time to the bench players. In the end we could have even won the game.
  10. 0:0 final Still undefeated against Spanish teams at Toumba. This was our 200th game in Europe.
  11. Lucky not to be down in score. We only had one chance at the end with Varela heading the ball into the post. Koutsias seems to be lost out there.
  12. Well yeah. Their guy did not win the EPO elections. That's why they are putting all kinds of obstacles on the national team.
  13. All Scottish crew for this one. I expect heavy rotation tomorrow, and would not be surprised to see Koutsias and Konstantelias play.
  14. I see this going to CAS again. How ironic that they set this court hearing on the International Anti-Corruption Day.
  15. If Jaba wants to leave so badly, let him bring an offer that matches or comes close to the 5 mil investment that PAOK made on him. If not let him rot on the bench and report him to FIFA. Biseswar I believe is history. The sooner we unload him the better. It was a big mistake to give him a 3-year contract extension. Too bad, i liked the guy when he actually played. We should just let Rey go. No reason keeping him just to be the 4th goalie on the squad. Overall the goaltender situation needs to be resolved and streamlined. I see Zivkovic being sold before Giannoulis.
  16. Your lineup looks good. I think that Zivkovic will start in goal though. Paschalakis will play on Sunday.
  17. I think you mean Rodrigo. His injury wasn't serious, but I doubt he will play. I think him and Vieirinha will take it easy and see if they can be ready for Sunday's game.
  18. Giannoulis will not play in this game due to cards which is fine with me. He should be rested for the big game on Sunday. The only problem is that we have no other LB available, so I see Crespo playing there again
  19. It's different this time around. There will be 12 teams in the playoffs (ten 2nd place winners and two best teams from Nations League). The 12 teams will be divided into 3 groups of 4 teams. There will a be a semifinal round and a final round within those groups, with the 3 winners making the finals.
  20. Realistically we have a very small chance of making the finals. If we manage to outperform ourselves and do finish in 2nd place ahead of Sweden we still have to eliminate 2 other countries in order to make it to Qatar. If I was a betting man I would say we are not going to the finals, but than again back in 2004 we had Spain in our qualifying group and we all know how that turned out, so anything is possible. Miracles do happen sometimes.

  22. Wague and Michailidis were decent. Nothing spectacular, but they played fine. Tzolis and Zivkovic the MVP's of the game. Without those two we would have lost the game. Low point was El Kaddouri with his red card.
