I wonder what Magath's thoughts on the healing potential of kefalotiri are.
  2. It's up to them to take his spot. If they don't end up starting over him, then I guess I'll have to accept that he's really the best we have.
  3. Mak starting again for Slovakia, this time vs Luxembourg. Good luck to them.
  4. Now's the time to do it. The senior team played vs Ivic's U20s the other day. Deligannidis played for both sides, taking over for Leovac with the seniors in the second half. Would doubt that we'll see either of them in the match. Antonis did play the whole 90, which is good. Glykos and Cimirot were both training individually, so my condolences to Boston Thanatos, as this implies to me that Glykos is going to be injured. Skondras also is ill; who knows if he'll be ready to play on the 18th. My guess: --Olsen-- --Vitor--Costa--Tzavellas-- --Rodrigues--Antonis--Kace--Jairo-- --Mak--Pelkas-- --Klaus-- *edit - let's be honest, I just like posting lineups. #cantgetenough
  5. Another day, another win. 30-6 over the Cowboys.
  6. We're really racking up the injuries here. Wouldn't be surprised if Mak or Rodrigues is played on the right side instead. Tudor doesn't seem to rate Skondras. If Mak is played up the middle again, and Rodrigues moves to the right, might be another chance for Korovesis, at least.
  7. Completely agree. Samaris and Tachtsidis were also very good, and very mobile. If we had any defenders worth a damn, it would have been an excellent game. I can't wait for the next coach to not play those three AMs at all.
  8. Fortounis and Mantalos looked to me to be the wide players. But all three moved around a lot.
  9. Fox had the rights to it, if you have an account they have it on demand.
  10. Started this match 45 minutes late, fortunately Fox's app lets you backtrack so I got the whole experience. Our LBs were the worst part of our game, yet again. Stafylidis needs a lot more experience. Holebas is still a trash defender. Look to the left side in the future for where most goals on us will come from, regardless of who goes there. Kind of sloppy in a lot of other instances as well. Moras' deflection that almost led to an own goal, for one. I loved the use of Fortounis/Mantalos/Pelkas in the midfield. Very fluid. The three of them played well together, and switched out positions very dynamically from what I saw. Must have given the Hungarians fits. There's real hunger here now. Ninis and Fetfatzidis, btw, are now superfluous. Samaris actually played well, which is amazing to me. Hopefully he keeps it up, and takes up the spot of Maniatis going forward. I'm glad Tachtsidis got a start and did well - he has all of Tziolis' ability and seemingly none of his faults, so if anything we should be playing him *more* often. He and Samaris together won't get better if they never see the field at the same time. Mitroglou still can't hit the broad side of a barn, but this was one of his better matches. I was surprised with how well he linked up with all of the new players; this is something that should be built upon. I don't think Kone looked as bad as the others here say; and he did score a solid goal. Most of the goals we copped today came from stupid mistakes. This can be fixed. I finally, after so long, am starting to feel a bit of confidence. As far as the team going forward - I see absolutely no reason why this can't be the general look and feel of it. Young. Hungry. Fast.
  11. Well done by both Kitsiou and Pelkas today. So-so performance by Stafylidis too. Unbelievable how he lost track of his guy like that.
  12. The wall? I don't see any of our CBs constituting a wall. As the other DM, the jury's out on Tachtsidis for me, since it's been ages since I've seen him actually out there. As much as I loathe Maniatis, it might be worth putting him back in there. Pelkas can play on the wing, better in the middle.
  13. I didn't want to encourage the benchwarmers ;)
  14. Slovakia were pretty poor (although better than Greece has been). Mak had the only really good chance of the night. As it stands, they are level with Ukraine on points, but have fallen to third place on goal differential. Ukraine plays Spain in their final match, while Slovakia plays Luxembourg. Assuming a Spain win, Slovakia goes through with a draw. At least one PAOK player might see some action at the Euro.
  15. And he just missed an unbelievable chance. This is familiar!
  16. Looking forward to the battle, then! Okay, fine, here you go:
  17. Although let's be honest, Tsanas is going to play Vyntra over Moras.
  18. I don't think we'll see any surprises there. Manolas and Kpaps are both out, right? --Karnezis-- --Torosidis--Moras--Sokratis--Holebas-- --Tziolis--Samaris-- --Kone--Fortounis--Karelis-- --Mitroglou-- At least this way only half of our attacking players are out of position, amirite?
