The U21 plays Albania in the 7th round of the U21 EURO qualifiers on the September 2nd. Albania is currently in second place in that group, we're in 5th. Portugal is way ahead of everyone based on points and games played.

Transfermarkt lists Thiam as also playing as CF, so it's possible he''ll find some Mak-style playing time out front. This is unlikely, but just throwing it out there. It seems we have an agreement with Getafe for Vasquez, all we need now is for the player to agree. I would hope that we haven't gone all this way to learn that he is not interested in coming here. As for Skondras - he's a decent player who would improve Platanias. I'd prefer him to get a job overseas, but the clock's ticking.

The Turkish league has money and population behind it. Players are much more likely to be noticed in a higher-profile league, regardless of whether or not it's "better." This is especially true of a league from a country like Portugal or the Netherlands.
