Stauea is no joke, they can definitely beat Sparta Prague (but I agree the Czech team will probably go through). The only team I was dreading was Galatasaray. Remember, we beat Eintracht Frankfurt twice with a lineup that (on paper) was much worse than we have now. No need for doom and gloom (I'm looking squarely at @PaokCT here). Good to see that the EL path is a lot more straightforward for us, but let's hope it doesn't matter anyway.

So we're guaranteed to have Vieirinha as our only LB in the next game, is what you're saying

I can't imagine he won't recover his form. It's not like he's injured; just three months out of shape. And his out of shape is most certainly not my kind of out of shape. Of more concern to me, is stuff like this: https://www.sportime.gr/podosfairo/fovate-ton-bampa-o-paok-ke-foulari-gia-aristero-bak/ https://www.sportime.gr/podosfairo/paok-o-loutseskou-den-estile-minima-mono-ston-samata/ I don't really know how to parse this. Is Soares that bad? I doubt it. And the first link almost feels like slander against Baba, doesn't it??

PAOK playing hardball and I love it: https://inpaok.com/830143/i-dipli-protasi-tou-paok-gia-meite/

My prediction: we'll see Tissoudali get a few minutes at the end, and a surprise START from Camara. Lineup: --Kotarski-- --Otto--Ekong--Koulierakis--Baba-- --Camara--Schwab-- --Despodov--Konstantelias--Taison-- --Thomas-- Perhaps we'll see some other CBs get minutes considering the pending moves, but that probably relies on our being comfortably up a few goals...

Ethnikos Achnas, out of Cyprus, apparently wants Panagiotou (our B team CB). I would much rather have him replacing Nasberg (and it was kind of dumb that we didn't call him up at the end of last season when we ran out of CBs). But what can ya do... InPAOK also reporting that there may be interest in three additional B team players of ours. Kanis, perhaps?

I think ti's a mistake to include Vieirinha over Rafa Soares. If Baba is hurt, Vieirinha will get eaten alive... Glad the first game is an away match, though. I wouldn't be surprised if Shola doesn't get any real game time in the first half of the season. Luxury purchase by the team; he'll be given the time to get comfortable until one of the other attacking midfielders is sold or hurt, methinks.

Rumors are all over the place with this guy. I think I saw a while back that he was interested in going to Denmark or something, which is where our interest ended. But then this starts up again today, and I see what you are referencing. But then, I see even newer stuff like this: https://inpaok.com/830046/h-zenit-agorazei-ton-ntrkousits-kai-ton-dinei-daneiko/ Who knows where this will end up. Anyone know if he's any good? -edit- there's also another new name floating around today, as the "anti-Meite." Who knows... https://www.transfermarkt.us/danilo-barbosa/profil/spieler/273438

Nasberg is your quintessential example of a team buying a player just because they're foreign. There are probably 30 Greek CBs that are at least as good as he is. I bet Thymianis is one of them. Fortunately his contract expires next year, so worst case scenario we eat his salary. My guess is that we'll lose Ekong and Koulierakis soon, but probably will keep Koulierakis until qualifiers are over (if possible). Ekong is only playing right now because Kedziora missed most of preseason (and we know how Lucescu is about that). Once he's "up to speed" (which he probably already is), we should be seeing Kedziora start again. If we sell Koulierakis, we'll get some serious cash for him. So I agree we'd be in the market for a serious CB. Also wouldn't be surprised if we move forward for at least the playoffs with Michailidis if there is a sale, assuming we beat Malmo. I doubt he'll ever regain his mojo, but if he does, now is the time to show it.
-
EVERY SINGLE DAY PAOK Today also saying Koulierakis is likely to move, but not before the Malmo games
-
Ninua, who had become a free agent at the end of June, has returned to Dinamo Tbilisi
-
Some articles over the last week about us being interested in free agent Anton Miranchuk (brother of the more famous one, who plays in Atlanta or something). I doubt this, considering we moved on the Bri'ish kid. The Samatta rumors are picking up again. Some were saying the Al Khalood interest was originally for a loan, but now may be a purchase. I wouldn't be shocked if the team is willing to give him away for free just to free up cash for salaries. But hopefully they're willing to pay something. -edit- for what it's worth, Andre Ricardo is now officially listed as PAOK B player on Transfermarkt. Not sure if they're plugged into some official system or if an admin is there playing god.
-
We can take any of them, but obviously Galatasaray is the one to skip. I'm sure Sparta Prague will beat the Romanians, but that would be the second-scariest matchup for me.
-
The Chalov announcement gives us a little taste of our other kits - looks like an all-white and a Partizan-style one? -edit- actually it's def a Partizan jersey, weird. Reinforced by the sticker he slaps onto the seat at the end. DID WE JUST BUY THE GROBARI?
-
-edit- OKAY I WILL REMOVE THIS BECAUSE IT WAS MEAN
-
I think some sites said it was because he brought a lot of stuff, as well as a dog. As if he wasn't making enough money to charter his own plane. Just saying, your competitors are light years ahead of you with their livestreams, bud. This is RIVETING television
-
I think the first five minutes or so of this podcast episode are...spot-on.
-
Definitely, but I would bet Lucescu will move heaven and earth to make sure Ekong doesn't go anywhere until we lock up qualification (wherever that may be)
-
I was ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN they would get either a PK or some deflected shot off a corner. Now on to Malmo. Hopefully Samatta is now on his way to Saudi Arabia and Tissoudali is ready. Or maybe more importantly, hopefully Konstantelias and Camara are "ready."
-
Hey @PaokCT, when you're coaching your team, do you make sure they know that in games where you're only winning 1-0, they should spend the last 15 minutes of the game not pressuring the opponent at all while they attack over and over again? ASKING FOR NO REASON IN PARTICULAR
-
Samatta and Camara on. Bet you Camara is more likely to score.
-
So he'll definitely be suspended for the second game vs Malmo 😉
-
Zivkovic + Konstantelias coming on, almost exactly at 60 minutes
-
Let's all pray for at least two more corner kicks because daddy needs a new pair of shoes!!!!

I think it was our own little Hollandaise sauce moderator that complained about Kotarski's kit last game - this is so much worse IMO. On my crappy stream, it looks like he's just wearing the exact same colors as Borac, but in reverse
