True that Tentoglou is struggling so far in the 2025 indoor season, it may be possible he could pick up at the right time. There is a chance Dimitra Tsoukala could join Emmanouilidou in the women's 60 meters. She is currently at 56th place, the final qualifying spot. She would need to improve her personal best of 7.30 to potentially locked in for Nanjing.

So far, it appears only 3 Greeks will qualify for the World Indoor Athletics Championship in Nanjing, China. Of course they are Emmanouilidou, Tentoglou, and Karalis. I don't mind this since they are the only Greek athletes who always perform at there best.

20 Greek athletes are going to Apeldoorn Andrea Mita from men's high jump is eligible to compete, but decided to stay in the U.S. to compete with the University of Houston where I attended as a student. Rafaela Spanoudaki injury wasn't serious and she is able to make the team after all. Men's team 60 m: Sotirios Gkaragiannis, Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, Vasilis Myranthopoulos 60 m Hurdles: Christos-Panagiotis Roumitsos High Jump: Antonios Merlos Pole Vault: Emmanouli Karalis, Giannis Rizos Long Jump: Miltiadis Tentoglou Triple Jump: Dimitris Tsiamis Shot Put: Odyessus Mouzenidis, Tasos Latiflari Women's team 60 m: Polyniki Emmanouilidou, Dimitra Tsoukala, Rafaela Spanoudaki 60 m Hurdles: Elisavet Pesiridou 800 m: Georgia Despollari 1500 m: Anthi Kiriakopoulou High Jump: Tatiana Gusin Pole Vault: Ariadni Adamopoulou Long Jump: Andriana Goga

Tzolakis has to be our regular #1 goalkeeper if Greece has any chance to qualify for FIFA 2026 World Cup. Many say he could potentially be one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Katernia Stefanidi will not take part in either indoor championships as she is skipping the indoor season. Spanoudaki was injured during the Greek Indoor Championship in the 60 meter finals. She will likely miss the trip to Apeldoorn. It appears that 8 Greek athletes are going to qualify for the upcoming European Indoor Championship. Road to Apeldoorn Women's 60 meters Polyniki Emmanouilidou - 7.24 (24th place out of 40) Dimitra Tsoukala - 7.30 (33rd place out of 40) Women's High Jump Tatiana Gusin - 1.85 (15th place out of 18) Women's Pole Vault Ariadni Adamapoulou - 4.40 (16th place out of 18) Men's High Jump Antonios Merlos - 2.21 (16th place out of 18) Men's Pole Vault Emmanouil Karalis - 6.01 (Entry Standard) Men's Long Jump Miltiadis Tentoglou - 8.65 (Entry Standard) Men's Triple Jump Dimitrios Tsiamis - 16.08 (13th place out of 18)

There will never be another male Greek athlete to surpass 6 meters in pole vault. Karalis is a once in a generation athlete like Tentoglou.

Panathiniakos got Fiorentina in the round of 16 UEFA Conference League Tough draw, but not impossible.

Man, I can always count on Blackhawk and Dutch Eagle on these info! Thanks for the explanations! -
Karalis said in his interview that if the crowds at Peace and Friendship stadium is packed full, he believes he will go over 6 meters.

Wow, so many great Greek footballers passed away. RIP to all

Asteras Tripolis are in the Greek Cup semifinals and they have a good chance to reach the finals after getting a draw with OFI Crete. Let's say they get the cup or finish runner-up, will that open up a 6th spot for UEFA Europa League entry? -
Good news is that Armand Duplantis will not take part in the European Athletics Indoor Championship which means Emmanouil Karalis has a great shot for a gold medal.

Isn't the 5th place team in Greece play in the UEFA Conference League Qualifing Round? Asteras Tripolis are doing well and will be fighting for a spot in Europe over Aris. -
One month away from the 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championship in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. Competition starts on Thursday, March 6 and ends on Sunday, March 9. As expected Tentoglou, Karalis, and Stefanidi all qualified via entry standard from Feb. 24, 2024 to Feb. 23, 2025. The others will be fighting for spots via World Rankings.

Karalis broke his own indoor NR at 5.90

FCSB is your best bet, Olympiakos were unlucky not to beat them with a man advantage mostly in the second half. Good luck in the playoffs.

Match ended 1-1 horrible officiation. Serbian ref made some critical mistakes, all and all the draw is fair.

Time to revive this thread Olympiakos vs. Panathinaikos match started a few minutes ago GOAAALLLL!!!!! 1-0 CarmoI!!!!!!

The final match of the league phase at home against the club from Azerbaijan. Olympiakos not only have to win, but to score in bunches to strengthen it's goal difference. Thanks in part of their away victory in Porto, there is a good chance Olympiakos can finish 8th place for the final spot of automatic qualification to the round of 16 knockout stage. Here are the following what needs to happen in order for Olympiakos to grab 8th place. We will focus mainly with the teams from 8-11. Olympiakos are currently in 12th place. Steaua Bucuresti plays Manchester United in Romania (Man U must draw or win) Nice plays Bodo/Glimt in France (Nice must win or draw) Ajax plays Galatasaray in Netherlands (Ajax must win or draw) Athletic Club Bilbao plays Viktoria Plzen in Spain (Athletic must win or draw)

First time ever Olympiakos defeated FC Porto on their home soil. Same stadium where Greece defeated Portugal in the opening match 2-1 back in EURO 2004. Brings back great memories! Currently at 12th place, Olympiakos has a slim chance of getting the final spot for automatic qualification to the Round of 16. I fully expect them to be in the playoffs as a seeded side. Oh I wish they would have beaten Twente and FCSB.
