  1. It’s not social media per se but rather the abundance of entertainment options. You know what there was to do at home in the 80’s ? Not much! So we went for a kick EVERY day. There were time we didn’t have a ball we’d play with a tennis ball or whatever we had. Staying home was pretty boring so we were out all the time. The arcades were MAD also by the way. Have you guys seen the academy of Benfica ? That is how you make players. If we don’t start doing the same we will fall further and further behind. The days of “finding” players doesn’t really exist anymore. The parks and streets are no longer full of kids having a kick. It is what it is and we have to adapt.
  2. Thanks champ.
  3. Only saw highlights, but Aris looked pretty damn good. Could’ve even put us away. They had two very good chances to score again. In the context of the league being more competitive, and the general level of the GSL improving, this is a good thing. Congratulations to the Aris boys on the forum and go easy on our Yiankos. We love him.
  4. Biseswar has more football brains than nearly the whole team put together. If he was a little faster and fitter he’d be playing in stronger leagues. The guy can judge naturally and with little effort, whether to pass, hold the ball, for how long etc. If he had a motor as well he’d destroy the league. As it is, having a guy like that on the bench, can’t ask for more.
  5. Good to know about the foreign referee. If Kaddouri is injured and with Warda playing games, I can see Biseswar playing on the flank. Or even if Lucescu dares, he could play Tosca LB and Vieirinha as LW. I am already over Warda and his antics. His stupid attitude means we aren’t at 100% due to his ego. If he was 20 years old I’d say cut him some slack, but he’s 25 ffs. And to think we have him and we let go of Mak and Henrique. Dibidibi dibidai dibidai dibidai indeed.
  6. True but I can’t see him getting a gig at an A-League club even though he probably deserves it. His name is a bit too woggy if you know what I mean. His best chance would be to get a gig as an assistant and go from there. How is the Olympic Village ? Haven’t been there in ... probably 7 years now. Never liked that ground. I always preferred Olympic Park. Yep, showing my age.
  7. Warda best keep his head down. I’m still not impressed we sent Henrique on loan so that Warda had a place in the squad. He’s woefully immatureand erratic. Scored a good goal against Benfica and now he’s the man.
  8. Good points Bashibozuk. It seems obvious, and yet many have difficulty grasping it. I wonder how many voted for Trump just because he wasn’t establishment or just because they perceived HRC as “more” establishment. Even if it was 1% (and I believe it was a little more than that) it was enough to change the outcome. I think the only solution is to remove voting rights from pleb voters. I will have to design a test to detect said plebs. Any ideas ?
  9. Stop re yiankos. I almost spat out my food when I read this! Ok, I’m taking a screen shot of this and printing it out. Must have a hard copy for evidence just in case ha ha. I’ve been unable to see games this season due to starting a new job so I have to just watch highlights and read match reports. It seems like this was a proper derby where both teams played to win and both had their chances. Good to see. It’s kind of sad that a foreign referee officiated. Unfortunately it’s the only guaranteed way to get the players to just play the game. Maybe one day ... nah who am I kidding. In closing ... PRIJOGOAL. And if I read another post where people say “I’m ok if we sell Prijovic for over 5 million”, to those people I say, just watch that 1st goal again and again. If Prijo was playing for AEX and we had Klaus, AEX win. By the way, Zambia has struck again. Been watching his vids on Youtube. Crazy kid. What a laugh.
  10. No need to sound all calm, reasonable and sensible mister pash. I prefer shrill hysteria. Speaking of which, what the f##k got into Paschalkis. Siga re therio, acting like he’s a sick c##t against OFI. Not sure whether to laugh at him or give him a backhander. Only problem is I’d need to stand on a stool to reach his head.
  11. Do you ever sleep ? Ha ha. Lucescu will have to rotate. He has no choice. Luckily there is depth in the squad. Even this game we had quite a few players who normally wouldn’t start. Where we suffer in terms of rotation is LB and RB. We have no players similar in quality to Matos and Vieirinha. We’ll see what Tosca has to offer in time. As for Canas, in general, I am a fan. I always liked his drive on the field but the times they are a changing. When we got him 2 years ago we were still a work in progress with an U/20’s manager (Ivic) taking the helm. It’s different now and these poor games by Canas, we can’t afford mistakes like these, and they seem to be creeping into his game more and more.
  12. The Republican Party didn’t nominate Trump as such. They tried everything in their power to get one of their other candidates instead. Cruz, Rubio and others. The RP most definitely did not want Trump to be the nominee. In truth Trump is neither a Democrat or a Republican. Trump is for team Trump. The tea party movement has definitely played a big role in the way everything transpired in both the nomination and the election. Crazy people.
  13. Do you think there is actually a solid strategic reason for Turkey purchasing the Russian defence system ? Or is it Erdogan doing this just to stick it to the U.S. ? It’s an air defence system. Who will attack Turkey by air ? Then again, maybe Erdogan and Putin have made an agreement on Syria and this is the price of doing business.
  14. I thought George W Bush would never be beat as the worst president America ever had. No offence to those who thought he was good.
  15. Curious ... how did Karelia and Wernbloom look ? Their general fitness and chemistry with the team.
  16. It looked like it was a good sized crowd. Any idea what the number was ? Either way, good to see OFI back in the A Ethniki. The highlights ... my god. All you heard was Biseswar, Biseswar, Biseswar ha ha. He is actually perfect for these sorts of games where we know we’ll have possession. Once it gets too physical or lots of running is required Biseswar can suffer. Love the guy. His style is old school.
  17. Little Hillary never stood a chance. I’m actually not sure if you’re being satirical or not. If you are being sincere, then I apologise. As to Little Hillary, I can’t believe she was the underdog. She had all the advantages she could’ve asked for. I think she simply, along with the establishment, and the media, and us, misread the mood of a large portion of the country. This is the point I keep trying to drive home i.e. that she and the DP made a huge error by not seeing this. I can excuse the media because they are so partisan they can’t see straight. I can excuse us, because hey we have lives and don’t have the time to see this. But the DP and Hillary, what is their excuse for not seeing the danger ? And you know what I believe ? That it was pure 100% unadulterated hubris. Surely he can’t win ... surely people will see he’s an imbecile. Not good enough ... and now Dr. Stranglelove has the nuclear launch codes. It’s been a ride I gotta say. The gift that just keeps on giving. Just this week with the anonymous op-ed, damn that was some good reading. Side note, I’m actually really interested to see what the next election result will be.
  18. What orchestration man ? Did Russia brainwash 300 million Americans ? Let’s not get into that because it’s missing the point. There are too many crying moral outrage at Trump when in reality he’s only done what politicians have done since time immemorial. The only difference is he’s sunk to new lows. So should we now feel sorry for Hillary because she couldn’t deal with the dirty fight ? Trump did not have the backing of his party (crazy I know). He did not have the backing of the media or celebrities. He had less money also. And yet he won. He is supremely corrupt and without any semblance of good human virtues. A pig of man, a swine for sure. But as a politician, he was much better than Hillary. He ran a better race. Why is that so hard to understand ? The saddest part of all of this, at least to me, is that the DP are feeling sorry for themselves, or outrage at Trump, when they should be angry at themselves.
  19. Not sure how it will generate so much more revenue to offset the huge expense. Maybe they’ll have secret rooms with men playing manila and the house will collect a cut of each hand. Tax free of course.
  20. Oprah couldn’t win. No one could win. Trump is kryptonite to them Dems. Makes their brains go crazy. #whatisthepoint
  21. Hudson, you’re not getting it. My point is that America has a massive (and I mean MASSIVE) social divide. The quality of life for a lot of people that voted for Trump, their general level of education, their income and outlook on life is limited. If you repeated what you just said (and I do understand it and appreciate it) what they just heard is blah blah, blah blah, blah blah blah blah. You have Hillary who offers them nothing, big fat ZEROES. Then you get Ouga Bouga saying ME STRONG, ME MAKE YOUR LIFE BETTER, ME FIX AMERICA while he beats his chest. Hillary laughed, the media laughed, the establishment laughed ... we laughed. And Ouga Bouga won. Why did she offer them nothing ? That I will never know. I can only assume because she (and the DP) thought surely they couldn’t lose. Hillary should’ve prepared better and been wiser and read the lay of the land instead of assuming she couldn’t lose. Her haughtiness gave government to Ouga Bouga. I dare say he can read the lay of the land better than her. Give the superficial masses the garbage they want to hear. As for the DP, they are no party at all, for if they were, Sanders would’ve been the candidate. But Hillary couldn’t have that now could she. Again, what has the establishment learned from this ? The next election will be interesting. We will see if this was a one off or if a pattern is emerging.
  22. Dr Frankenstein indeed. Trump took everyone by surprise. Early in the GOP nomination process, when there were still a dozen or so candidates, the sneering and contempt towards Trump was something to behold. Fair enough, the man is an imbecile and who didn’t mock him. But by the time he’d won the candidacy, Clinton should’ve been very afraid. Instead she felt safe because Oprah was on her side. With her head comfortably up her ass she proceeded to lose to a baboon. Unfit for the fight, she lost the unloseable. A poor candidate who seemed out of her depth against Trump. Ridiculous and self entitled. But it’s ok, all those movie stars have your back so how can you lose. Trump is corrupt, a liar, delusional, a megalomaniac and thoroughly unfit. Clinton was just old and thoroughly out of touch. I imagine she still wakes some mornings and can’t understand how she lost. When you don’t know your own country, that’s what happens. Feed them cake indeed. Maybe spend 5 minutes with people who earn less than 500K a year. It’s all right, you can always wash the stench of the poor off you afterwards. I wonder what the establishment has learnt from this.
  23. Surprising Yiankos. I would’ve thought AEX would have more than us given they’re in CL this year.
