@DunfermlineAthleticPAOK Bonatini killed it in the first half of last season but in the latter half he didn’t score for 20 games or so. In addition, he’s not match fit. So not in form or match fit, compared to Berg who is still banging in the goals like he always has. I don’t recall a long period of time where Berg has not scored. He also knows the Greek league. He is hands down the better option. All of this would be moot if we weren’t in contention for the title but fact is we are. Why risk it ? If we can sign Berg for a reasonable price why not. Having said that, I don’t know how Berg’s club, PAO and Berg himself will negotiate. If they try and be too greedy I can see it all falling apart. In which case, I’d just go and get Koulouris.

Tosca isn’t attacking enough. You need full backs that push up and join the attack. Giannoulis does this. Tosca seems more of a CB who can also play LB if required. Not impressed with Tosca and Hatzeridi, man oh man he’s our worst signing ever given the hype and his wages. We’ll see what the second half of the season brings. Plenty of players came to PAOK and were poor in their first 6 months and then improved afterwards e.g. Varela, Campos, Biseswar. If Koulouris keeps up this form, it would be outrageous to not give him a go next season. I can’t find an emoticon for panic.

Bring back Giannoulis and Hatziisaias while we’re at it. I know it won’t happen but all it’s going to take is an injury to Varela/Crespo or Vieirinha and we’ll be “panicking”. I’d prefer these two in their natural positions rather than the square peg in round hole approach. As for Hatzeridi, they should set up a bbq outside Toumba on game day where he can cook some brizolia and sell them to fans as they’re walking in. At least he’d be of some use that way.

If these figures are close to reality, then sign Berg now. If not, go for Koulouris. Koulouris is good enough for what we need. Prijo was the man, but we only really needed him in derbies. For most other games, the strikers we have plus Koulouris is good enough. If we can get Berg at a reasonable cost that’s a bonus.

I can’t stand the idea of selling first team players mid season. Considering how important winning the title this season is, selling Prijovic is a big blow. Even at 10 million I feel it’s not enough. This is why you don’t have minimum fee clauses in contracts, or if so, you do like Benfica and make the figures ridiculously high. I’d prefer if UEFA got rid of the winter transfer window but yeah that ain’t gonna happen.

I think it's really simple. If he doesn't win the league, he'll be sacked. The pressure is now on because of the +8. If we were say +2 or -2 and he just missed out then he might be kept, but because of the +8, he has to win. After that, it depends on how the title is won. If we make it by the skin of our teeth he might still be sacked. Having said all that, I'm neither here nor there about Razvan. I think he's good, solid and realistically what manager can we get that is better and that will come to us ? We have to be realistic. When you compare him to the managers we've had in the previous 5 seasons he is much better overall. Hiring managers is such an unknown quantity.

And if it’s not organised but is actually just the violence of idiots, how will the strike help ? The authorities should instead throw their full force into investigating what really happened. In addition they should provide good and proper security to make referees feel safe. No matter how bad a referee is, they at least deserve to not be assaulted. But this is Greece and no such thing will happen. Everyone has their agenda, their preconceived theories. And the system is and has been broken for many many many years. pash, I’m gonna give you a beating. We’re in the best position to win the title since 1985 and you’re gonna go with Charisis or Meliopoulos. Charisis is too risky. His good games are good but he can disappear much like Pelkas used to. He makes Shakhov look classy in comparison. Meliopoulos has only come off the bench in a handful of league games. An injury to Mauricio and our starting midfield is Shakhov and Canias. With who on the bench ? I don’t believe we have 13 wins and 1 draw with that pair starting. Not that they’re bad, but Mauricio is that good. The best 8, and a real 8 at that, we’ve had in many years. Instead of Charisis or Meliopoulos I’d bring back Kace. At least you know what you get with Kace.

With Pontus injured we need cover in the middle. Question is will we sign another dud. Wernbloom, Hatzeridi, Karelis ... Moulin. Too many duds signed. Wernbloom, the only thing in his favour is he isn’t completely terrible (like the others) and yet when you factor his wage, yes it’s a pretty bad signing. Still, for the GSL he was adequate and offered a rotation option. I’m hoping somehow we get some news on Stafylidis. Would love the kid to come back and he’d be a great signing. Could always use Kitsiou on the right and Matos on the left. I know when Matos was in Ukraine he was played there and given the teams we're playing against you don't have to worry that much about defending, which isn't Matos's strong suit anyway.
