Don't be so sure Argy, I don't have confidence that Skibbe will select him.. I hope I'm wrong.
I think that if he performs regularly and well he will get a call up. I'm hopeful.

Fetfa will play an important part in the next campaign.
-
He won't be benched but he won't be first choice. Highly probable that either Mitroglou or Germain will be dealt before the end of August.

What a great interview with Manolas.
I just want to see Fetfa back in the lineup. He was good for the NT. Even look at his stats they're pretty impressive, all while being young and playing in a system that did not suit him. Donis will also be big for the NT in the coming campaign.

I like argys idea. But I think Siovas would be better.
Siovas is good but he has to start by getting called up. I still prefer KPap, as his best is better than Siovas' best, but we are definitely rich in quality options for CB with Retsos as our #4, Siovas as a logical #5, and then a solid bunch of decent backs battling for a callup. We will likely see Mavropanos with senior team in the coming months as well.

What we need to see is a 3 CB formation, similar to what Belgium is fielding against Brazil. We have a great defense, poor midfield, OK attack. Why not play to our strength and use Sokratis-Manolas-Papadopoulos, with Stafylis on LWB, Toro/Babakis/Lyko as RWB, Fetfa and Donis on the wing with Mitro up top. By loading up the wing positions it takes a huge load off the midfield players. I cannot believe this hasn't been tried yet.

What's the story with Odysseas Vlachodimos? He moved to Benfica for next season. Played for Germany U21 recently and was MOTM. Any chance of him still opting for Greece NT?

Done deal, baby! Napoli!

So this came pretty much out of left field: Karnezis is set for a medical at Napoli tomorrow. Wonderful move for him and Greek pedigree in Europe. The bigger the team, however, the tougher it will be to earn playing time and a starting job. If he signs there and plays, this will be great for the NT as well.

Thread locked as player returned to Greece from playing abroad. Any further discussion can be had in the Olympiacos forums.

Is this transfer at Oly in the books? Doesn't seem so yet.

Why not go after Kyriakos Papadopoulos for some chemistry with Sokratis and depth at CB at a serious bargain with huge upside?

He's far from a being a beggar.

It sucks that we could not qualify. I played tonight and had to listen to teammates and opponent's talking after the game about there countries that are in the World Cup like Poland, Germany, Russia even Morroco and Iran. What makes it even worse is Greece missed the last Euro and now we have not seen our country play in a tournament since WCUP 2014, now we have to wait until 2020 and the way were going who knows. Just frustrating.
Missing the last 2 tournaments means that some of best players of this generation have missed out on the world stage in their prime. Sokratis being the best example and even Manolas will only get a chance of playing in the Euro at 28. Very sad.

What a disaster. I guess our official team will stay with our C roster until September. Looks silly.

Pretty much a done deal that he will be Arsenal`s first signing of the summer. He has earned it and I cannot wait to see it.

I doubt he'll be getting offers at that amount other than in SA or China....I'm sure both oly and AEK will offer him a reduction in wages and he should take it if he can't get any better offers from other european teams....he needs to get back to the western world.....not everything is about money.
Agreed. If he signs In Europe I think we will see him with the Ethniki before the next Euro.

Czech second league is really low, but good on him, maybe he can make his way out to Italian Serie B or a first division somewhere else.

To be fair, Kyrgiakos was at Liverpool until almost 31 and then played at Wolfsburg for a couple of years, but yes he did drop off prematurely. He was fantastic in England though.

And looks like he will stay there and fight for promotion with them... that’s the early mail
That would be an embarrassment for him to play in 2.Bundesliga,

He was supposed to be out for a couple of weeks, but not sure about his current status and if they find it necessary to reactivate him with a game or two left.
-
He was outstanding and the way he scored and assisted was through timing, pace and poise. I am sure he caught the eye of many.

When you start at Arsenal, there should be no question about a national team call up. He doesn`t have to play right away, but it is important to get him accustomed to the NT culture as early as possible, like we did with Sokrati. He will get to know his fellow countrymen, and this will give him an extra boost of confidence and yet another thing to look forward to and play for in his career.

You guys should see all the praise he is getting from Arsenal fans on Twitter.

I didn't see the game, Arsenal won 8-0 but fans were trashing Sok on Twitter saying he's too slow. Very upsetting reading all these clowns' comments. People don't understand that this is practice for a CB and he's not gonna out there and kill himself in a pre-season match in July. Hopefully he shuts everyone's mouth soon.
I hate to play this card, but I truly believe him being Greek attracts a lot of hate from foreign fans and they almost want him to fail.
