Same could be said about Retsos no? I am saying to call him up the senior squad and let him play with the U21s when needed.
-
That would be a dream combo from a Greek football perspective, and I think would serve Arsenal very well. Mavropanos needs to be called for the upcoming friendly. He just started for Arsenal in a league match vs Manchester United, I can`t see any situation more deserving.
-
It's not Wenger who is spearheading this, it's their top scout and former member of BVB Sven Mislintat and he will stay on and likely have a more influential role now. He is the one who signed Mavropanos and also helped get Aubameyang from Dortmund.

Manolas just came off injured in the 74th minute vs Lazio. Hopefully nothing serious. He was having a great game.

True, but we shouldn't be comparing ourselves to the necessarily since we're never in the same qualifying groups as them. Still it's nice to see the Ethniki playing against some different countries that they would otherwise not be playing.
There were reports of the Americans putting on a friendly tournament for the best countries that didn't make the world cup, but I guess that fell through?
As much as it would be nice seeing the ethniki, it`s a weird concept altogether and I we`re better off waiting a couple more months and kick off the Nations League in September.

Roma vs Liverpool semi-final. Fortunate draw, as Liverpool is more beatable over two legs than Bayern or Real. Exciting time for Roma and Manolas and great for Greek football seeing him and Mitroglou in high profile matches.
-
This will raise his profile to new highs. He was a monster the entire game and topped it off with one of the best moments by a Greek player in the last decade.

he has a 6 mil buy out clause which will be lower in case hamburg gets relegated. although the player said his priority is to keep playing abroad.
Going to PAOK at 26 would be an epic fail for him.

Papadopoulos might go to PAOK. I think it would be a bad move. He should stay abroad as it would benefit the national team. Him and Retsos are clearly our back ups.
I don't know why Siovas hasn't been called up. He has been clearly doing well in Spain for 2 seasons. He could more stable then Manolas and Sokratis. Hid weakness is his pace in my opinion but his passing is the best from all our centrebacks. We should utilize him.
Papadopoulos will eventually go to PAOK but it will be at around 30-32 years old where he will play out the rest of his career. It`s now time for him to take that next step that we all know he has in him, not to go back to Greece prematurely.

Dortmund has no consistency this year and almost the entire starting XI has been a revolving door.

We only played with 2 starters (Elneny, Gabr). About 3-4 players today made their international debuts and it showed. Hector Cuper didn't take this match serious at all.
We were missing all of our starters too. The difference is that Greece has depth. Our core (Sokratis, Manolas, Karnezis, Mitroglou, Fortounis, Torosidis, Samaris, Zeca) didn`t see the pitch and players like Donis, Lazaros and Stafylidis were subbed off early.
-
We should be working on transitioning from Torosidis. He has served us well but isn`t the player he used to be and I personally can`t stand seeing him wearing the armband while Sokratis is on the pitch.
-
Greece will never reach th next level without a competent and confident #10. As much as I am rooting for him, Fortounis just doesn`t have it. It might be mental thing for him.
-
According to Gazetta they are going with Karnezis, Toro, Manolas, Sokratis, Staf, Zeca, Samaris, Fortounis, Laz, Donis and Mitro.
-
The probable lineup according to gazetta is Karnezis, Toro, Manolas, Sokratis, Stafylidis, Zeca, Samaris Fortounis, Lazaros, Donis, Mitroglou.
So much for experimenting, but this is likely the best mix of experience and talent we can field atm and would probably be our XI if we were headed to the world cup.

It’s very good Dean, dunno if it’s HD but it’s clear
13 hours ago, Dean97 said:I might just do that. How good is the stream though? Is it HD throughout?
It`s good quality, and HD or not, it`s better than a laggy, ad-plagued version available at atdhe or similar services. For me, we get so little international soccer during the year, and now especially without WC, you think 7$ is gonna stop me from enjoying the game?

What are your opinions on a silver star above the crest representing our European championship?

ATDHE may have it, is it on TV anywhere? Here in Canada we will get the usual England friendlies. Maybe BEIN may show Greece?
Guys, if you really watch the game just spend the 7 bucks and buy it from Agona Sport and just enjoy it.

Well Greece`s Defense should be better than Watford`s even if they play their backup CBs and Egypt isn`t Liverpool.

Game came down to the brink with Mitroglou drawing for Marseille in the 84th but Depay winning it for Lyon in the 90th. Mitroglou was also part of a controversial late offside decision, that was most likely onside and would have led to a clear breakaway with lots of field.

Re: Tziolis
I posted this in the Starting XI thread:
Here is a excerpt from a recent Skibbe interview with Contra.gr
Transaltion: For Tziolis, specifically, I can tell you that he was exceptional in the last couple of matches. He did exactly what he was supposed to as a defensive midfielder. Even if he does not play at a big club or in a developed league, even if he is 32 years old (he actually recently turned 33), I think his performance was at a very high level and that his critics are wrong.

I think you mean agents. But isn't the coach Skibbe suppose have the final word on who gets called up? I don't understand how agents pick the team?
This was mentioned in another thread, and it seems like Tziolis is with one of the most influential agents, but what would explain Tzavellas presence since he has no representation.

the Tziolara mystery explained:
Φορτούνης, Κουλούρης, Πέλκας, Σταφυλίδης, Κυριάκος Παπαδόπουλος, Γιαννιώτας, Τζιόλης (Κουτσολιάκος)
That could definitely have a role to play, but how about all the other players Koutsoliakos represents? It`s only for Tziolis he fights for? I guess though at 33, still playing on the NT increases his bargaining power when he will be looking for a team in the summer.
