Fortounis was fantastic today. Much better than WC qualifying. Very encouraging.

Yea Fortounis was ok. Still no one has the spine to go at defenders and keep them on their toes. Our players just feed the ball to the wings and hope for a great cross in. All that does and solidifies the opponents pressure tactics. They are never afraid of being taken on. That, out of all problems, is the most frustrating.

6 shots on target and 5 narrowly out really seems like you re baiting. We haven't had such a good offensive play since Belgium in my humble opinion. And we didn't play against a Kafeneio. Worse team than us but definately no kafeneio.

I don't agree with your perspective. They parked the bus and allowed us to play. We had some half chances and missed. We rely too much on crosses and don't have the spine to go at them via the centre of the park. Hungary aren't bad. A draw I would have taken but not a loss in an empty stadium.

I don’t know how you guys can see the positive in losing on the road to a Hungarian team With out there fans in an empty stadium.. I liked somethings we did and this also better show Skibbe once and for all never to play Tzavellas again.. I did like Kourbelas and Bouchalakis in the mid.. but to me if we can only score 1 Against Estonia how the hell are we ever going to beat teams like Finland and Hungary who themselves aren’t good teams? If we can’t make it out of Group C how the hell do we expect to qualify in the Euros campaign?? It’s the same story “we had chances but couldn’t finish” it’s like a broken record.. bottom line we can’t score enough goals to put teams away and be consistent enough..

Exactly. How can this atrocity be spun positively. It is what it is. Another utter failure by Skibbe and the NT.

Yeah unfortunately Skibbe can't make us have the one thing we're lacking a player who can put our many chances away. Plus I didn't see too much back passing today, nothing like we had under Santos.

I saw a lot. Every time we had possession, it seemed as though their first instinct was to see if a lateral/back-pass was available. They move and pass so slowly that most of the time teams close up on them and the only pass available is behind.

Stop it already bro. You re tiring.

Skibbe couldn't be in Mitroglou's place and Sokratis' place to put the headers in.

Mitroglou wasn't on Manolas' place to score his 2nd header.

Skibbe made this team work better than the previous qualifiers offensively. Good passes good katoxi trying to unblock a defence.

2 good chances for the Hunns 2 goals. It happens.

We had possession but did we penetrate? So much possession with no penetration means nothing. We played into their hands.

  6. I complete embarassment to lose to this Hungarian team with players from second divisions around Europe. this is really a shame a dark day for Greek soccer. It's a step back. We did not lose a meaningful game in the WC wualifying other than a good match vs Belgium.

Skibbe has to go and so does the pass back as a first option mentality. Sad times for the Greek NT.

pelkas brings speed/hustle that fortounis doesn't. fortounis brings technical skill. mantalos is a similar player to fortounis but when both are in form i'd give the edge to fortounis.

it should be pelkas fortounis lazaros up top based on current form. fortounis and laz work well together at oly too.

Donis must be integrated into the starting XI. Form goes a long way and is integral, but so does skill and talent, and I believe Donis has more of that than Pelkas and will catch up to Lazaros and Fortounis soon enough. I also think he has more game breaking ability than the above 3. He is playing in a much more competitive league versus and alongside better players and that goes a long way. The tactics, club culture, training facilities, staff, professionalism, game pace of the Bundesliga are not found in Greece. For me, as long as Donis is getting minutes at Stuttgart, he should be one of the first names on the game sheet for Greece, and not wasted on the bench like he was yesterday. Let us see what happens vs Hungary.

were u watching the game? he was one of our best players the first 60 minutes.

I really don't like what he brings to the table anymore. I am tired of seeing his hopeless longballs. I think he leaves a lot to be desired as a leader and captain (Sokratis is much better and is being wasted). I am looking at this as a whole and I fear that he will be an anchor for this team in the coming campaigns.

  9. Torosidis needs to retire. He plays lacklustre and his hopeless long balls are remnants of the old guard.

The sad part is that Toro has been one of the best players of this last generation, and a solid captain. It will be a shame to see him go the way of Gekas and Katsouranis, being scolded by fans and have facebook groups created calling for his retirement. He has 97 caps now. Become a centurian and walk away with your head held high. Torosidis should not be a member of the NT for the beginning of Euro2020 qualifying in 2019.
