Great move from the kid. He is 19 years old and considering the position he plays is so important, he has the ability and position to seriously improve. We need decent attacking midfielders playing (and or developing) at the highest levels as we seem to import all our attacking options from OS and thus struggle to fill these roles in the NT. Not saying that Tachtsidis is NT material yet, but he has potential.

He scored a cracking solo goal against Tottenham in the Wembley Tournament on the 26th of July. He took the ball from inside his own half and out sprinted the Tott defenders to crack the ball home for a slight angle. The finish was superb but at times his touch was not as confident, but great goal. Check it out...its on the goal4replay site. Things were a little more different last night however as Celtic lost 0-1 at home to Dynamo Moscow in the 3rd round UEFA CL first leg. Samaras was used as a 60 minute sub and had a great chance with about 5 mins of the match remaining but he headed straight at the keeper.

He has been playing regularly, however he didn't get a run in the 2nd leg semi versus Hamburg which Werder won. A bit dissapointing. Hopefully he hasn't been demoted by the manager.It would be great for him and for Greek football if he gets a shot at the UEFA Final. Would be a very big thing to win against Shakhtar.

Ever since he cut off the mullet, much like the mythical Samson (or Shimshon as our Jewish cousins call him) he has lost his influence. I agree with Euro2004's post. I live in Australia and the FYROM community has this intense anti-Greek agenda. They are pursuing this revision of history to suit their politcal goals and by playing ball with this kid, this whole fiasco has the potential to embarrass us. Scored another goal in tonights match with Juventus. Unfortunately it was in his own net! Genoa lost 4 - 1 and Sokratis came on as a sub.

Koutsianikoulis of Ergotelis is a promising player. He's in the Greek u19s but this kid should look at going OS. Germany/Spain/Holland or France. If he's going to waste his time on the bench better at a club in a better league than at Oly.

Sokratis played the full match against Inter away. He was solid in a defence which didn't give Inter's big names much room. I watched the entire match and I was very impressed with his performance. In the first half he was strong and didn't let anyone get the better of him. He is playing in a right back role. The kid needs to be permanently in the Ethniki. Only a fool (0tt0? <_< ) would keep him out.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Avraam is NOT good enough to be playing as a first team player. I hope I am proven wrong, but I think the manga (he is no longer a kid as he will be 24 in 3 months) would struggle this season.

Lua Lua expressed that he realised his mistakes and literally begged for one more chance. Although he was late to training, he always gave his all on the pitch, so he obviously didn't have motivational problems. As for Segura, we have no idea why they fell out, so we can't judge the player on that. And paying an extra 1.8m to keep one of your best players is nothing! Also, it's unlikely that we would have lost Lua Lua for nothing... he was desperate to stay and throughout his career he's shown alot of loyalty to his clubs, so there's no reason that he wouldn't have extended his contract.And finally, neither Chevanton nor Edu are better than him. I agree with you.Especially about Chevanton. The guy is not even close to being as good as Lua Lua.
