  2. as much as people talk about PAOK using the new year to rebuild and to forget Europe etc, we need to not loose site of the fact we have a good standing in Europe and that needs to be defended. Would be a waste to undo the good work we have done in Europe over the past few years.

  4. js1000, unfortunately the pain and suffering is seen as justified for "voting wrong". How can you reason with such a mind ? You can't.

  6. Next qualifiers for 2018 only 13 Euro teams qualify.( i said 14 in my last post, was wrong) The nine 1st place teams go through and the best 8, 2nd place teams go into a playoff for the final 4 spots. The way the team is now, and with a chance of getting 2 big boys in the same group, i see no chance. The Fa and the government has to start investing money into the youth, the leagues, infrastructure, development, coaches, etc etc. Why do you think a country like Portugal thats small like Greece, poor, same problems has been a regular player on the big stage? Back in the 80's Carlos Queiroz drew up a blue print for youth soccer. What happened, Portugal went on to win back to back under 20 world cups in 89 and 91. Their youth teams are usually qualify for youth tournaments. they have also been winners in the under 16's, under 18's, under 21's. Since Euro 96 they have only missed out on France 98. And checking the standings they are 1st place in their group at the moment. The USA in the early 90's hired Carlos Queiroz to over haul their youth system in that country. Look at them now. I'm not saying hire Carlos Queiroz( ok maybe, lol) but we need to give the youth in the country the right tools to become better players.

  7. Charisis is an up and coming player. Much better signing than Korovesis in IMHO. He is young and still developing. Hopefully we will get a coach that will help the player (and not only him) develop. I would like Stafylidis back, but he will most likely come back when his international career is over. BTW, nice to see Pontos joining our little group. Welcome back.

  8. Our problem majority of last season was keeping other teams from scoring against us, not scoring goals ourselves. I think bringing Rajkovic and Goutas would go a long way to ensuring our backline is reliable. Last season you didn't know who was going to line up in our centreback pairing. We conceded more goals than Levadiakos, Kerkyra, Kalloni, Platanias, Xanthi, Panetolikos, Giannina and the rest of the sides in the playoffs

  9. That isnt true. His successor only should have continued his work, he didnt sacrifice the future. His starting XI and tactics should have only slightly modified and developed (just as Santos developed the Rehhagel team). Salpingidis should have been replaced by Fetfatzidis in the starting eleven, and Katsouranis should have been used as a sub after WC, that would have given a team like this: Karnezis - Torosidis, Manolas, Papastathopoulos, Holebas - Kone, Maniatis, Samaris - Fetfatzidis, Mitroglou, Samaras. (Most probably these alternations would have been effected by Santos himself if he would have stayed - remember that after Euro 2012 Karagounis and Gekas became backup players.) He gave opportunity for youngsters too (Manolas, Tzavellas, Fetfatzidis, Samaris, Christodoulopoulos, Siovas, Mitroglou, Tachtsidis).
