It seems to be official that Odysseas Vlachodimos has been cleared by FIFA to represent Greece, and is expected to be called up as soon as the upcoming Nations League matches vs Finland and Estonia in a couple of weeks.

For the sake of argument, I'll try and make sense of the decision made by Aris to relieve Herrera of his duties. If you asked me after Aris clinched promotion what my expectations were for the return to the SL, I probably would have said a top 8 finish would be satisfying. I don't think it's unfair to say the bar was raised after the transfers this offseason along of course with the way the team has performed up until this point. Of the 5 loses only the game against AEK was out of reach, the rest should have been avoided. No doubt they play soccer that is pleasing to the eye but unfortunately that style has not produced results. I get losing to the top 3 teams was not unexpected but the loses to PAS and Panionios followed by the others, in the same manner no less, is why the move was made. As fans we should demand more from our teams, realistically of course, and I think a 5th place finish should be the goal. In my opinion, the team lacked in confidence with all the close loses so maybe the players stopped listening to Herrera.

The team will look different in the euro qualifiers then it will in the last 2 games of the Nations league due to the fact that he will allow the U21 to finish their campaign.. I still think we will see a different team in the next two games as I expect Tziolis, Tzavellas, Karnezis gone. I'm hoping he reaches out to Holebas.. Don't expect miracles in the first two games as the team may not look that good until they adjust to the way the coach wants them to play.. I'm taking these next two games as a way to get ready for the Euro qualifiers.. A press conference with the new coach would have been nice...

Aris already tried a couple of times this recipe and the results were not satisfactory at all. Moreover, when you try to build a team with many young players, patience and time are needed. In Greece fans -especially of big clubs- demand results and don't understand long-term planning!

Ange A should therefore play with 1 DM, in a 4132 or 442 system. Play Donis or Koulouris up with Mykonos.

Dean97, assuming that he improves as he gets more experience, I believe that he is better as a CM as he is not really fast but has great vertical passing. His pass on Makeda in the initial minutes against PAOK is such an example. However even at the wing he plays well, as he can pass to the other side well and switch possesion. Having witness the Ninis progression; I state that Bouzoukis needs to work on his game. Ninis game was more based on quicness and once that got away at 18 (due to issues at κοιλιακους) he did not adjust. Also he was never strong something that hindered his play. Buzoukis is stronger and it seems that he can still grow on him body.

Its a very simple game plan for any team playing against the NT, all they have to focus on is suffocating Mitro and that pretty much eliminates the Greek team from scoring... If you want to get the most out of Mitro then you need to create space for the guy so adding another striker will free him up.. We all know Mitro is slow and can be very ineffective in games but he is the only player you have that only needs 1 chance and he can score more then any other player on the team. For a team that doesn't score goals sitting Mitro is NOT the answer but rather finding away to free him up is what they should be looking at and adding another striker is the only way..
