There are also laws against proselytism, so the official religion is protected. The Zeus worshipers, if organized as a religion, should get recognition. As for the mosque, it could be built anywhere. I read that the proposed site was once a military barracks that can be used for housing since there are buildings there already. That sounds good to me. The issue for me is that there has to be separation of church-state in a modern society, so the state does not favor one over another. I can't help that chuckle when I hear fanatics of one religion criticizing or ridiculing the religious practices of another religion. Nobody seems to notice that 99% of the religious follow the culture and myths of the place of their birth. As far as I know, no one chose where to be born.2 points

First, it's a shame the old Omonia square was destroyed, but it's not the first time something classical and beautiful was replaced with a monstrosity. Look around Athens and you'll see ugly apt. bldgs, garbage, and cacophony. Anyway, so I understand.... If a country says it values freedom and liberties, should it allow people to believe in Zeus even if this goes against majority's worship preference? Instead, do you want to copy backward dictatorships, and oppressive theocracies? And, if you don't allow for a mosque to be built, what are you preventing exactly? That those Muslims will not find a way to pray? Instead of promoting enlightenment and fighting superstition with education, some people choose to kill each other on the debate whether the deity likes pork or not, and whether he has designated some sheeple as the chosen ones.2 points

If that was called than there would be 5 penalties in each game in the Superleague. Even Marinakis would not make that call.1 point

skibbe also hasn't started holebas. starts clubless tziolis and maniatis. doesn't include ninis and fetfa in the squad. decisions that a lot of us wouldn't have made either. as long as he gets us results he can do whatever he wants but i think these decisions will catch up to us when we're playing more formidable foes.1 point

It's definitely time for Ivic to start rotating some more players. As for the love affair with Campos, I don't know what is going on there ? Seriously, where did we find this guy ? I mean someone like Biseswar you can watch for 2 minutes, and you know the guy has a football brain. He may need work on fitness, on motivation, but he knows the game. But Campos ? I really want to proven wrong on him but I haven't seen enough to justify paying him such a high wage. Seriously, if you're a right winger but you can't score goals, there's a name for that. It's called a right back.1 point

Well, the part I haven't worked out is if Savvidis realises this or not. Is he a fool that really thinks he can spend 1/10th of what Olympiakos has spent in the past 5 seasons, and win the title ? Maybe he really does think he can do it on the cheap ? Or maybe it's as you say, and he knows that the money need to secure 2nd to 4th is "x", but the money need to secure 1st, is "x" multiplied by 5. Maybe it's not worth the risk ? Savvidis is a bit of a conundrum. He is undoubtedly a good business man. And he's definitely got political connections both in Russia and in Greece. He's not an idiot. Has he helped PAOK ? I would say immensely. People too easily forget that for PAOK, players getting paid in full and on time was not the norm. Every few seasons a fire sale of players (Olympiakos, AEK and PAO all benefited) and releasing players "apliroti" was also a yearly event. Fun times. So Savvidis has got at least that part of our house in order. He paid off the debt owed to the Greek government in back taxes of 10 million Euros. That alone impressed me. He's gotten the commercial side of the club to a respectable level. He's done good things. As for the footballing side, he's increased the wage budget, I don't know how much but if I had to guess he's probably tripled it. And the players get paid on time. And he's actually bought players! Not just getting players on free transfer because all they had to spend was 100K. Eleos. So yeah it would be nice if he spent 20 million for 3 years straight, and that would probably be enough to get the title, that is assuming it doesn't start an arms race with Marinakis. Who knows, maybe pigs would fly and even Melissanidis might spend a dollar or two. Where is PAOK at ? I think we're just a little better than last season. Strengthened the defence somewhat. Midfield is maybe slightly better. Up front worse as we haven't replace Mak adequately and Klaus is well Klaus. PAOK through and through but not the kind of striker that frightens serious teams. A good solid foundation and if they're serious about getting some quality players to really push for a title, so be it. But not there yet. What I hate more than anything is the lame articles in the paper at the start of each season "we're going for the title". F*** off you wankers. Just shut the F*** up and let your performance do the talking. As for the performance yesterday, maybe I'm not normal but I was actually not that unhappy with it. We took the game to the opposition, which is all I want from my team.1 point

I'll this right now. If Djalma Campos is in the 18 man roster, Ivic will show he's clueless. The guy is a fraud who rode on the glory of a fluke goal in Amsterdam long enough. The guy can't pass, shoot or receive a pass properly. Klaus is clearly out of form and honestly looks uninspired. Since the geniuses in the front office didn't get a proper CF, bite the bullet and put Koulouri or Pereyra (preferably Pereyra) up front. I think that: -----------------Pereyra------------------- Rodrigues----Biseswar----Mystakidis Will be far more effective than anything we've put up so far.1 point

Guys the Bosnia game is so vital to our chance of qualifying I Think Skibbe needs to play the line he expects to use for the Bosnia game with maybe one or two tweaks. Let these guys play together as much as possible and work out any issues..1 point

Why blame anyone ? Weren't we competitive today ? We actually had a chance to win the game. I can't remember the last time we went to Piraeus and actually took the game to Olympiakos. And like I've said earlier, I don't count those games where we used to sit back and defend for our lives for 90 minutes and hope we score a lucky goal on the break. As for Olympiakos, even though they aren't as strong as the last few seasons, they are still a solid team. If anything, this should be an eye opener for Ivic and the rest of the PAOK administration. They should be able to see by now where the team is lacking and what is required to really challenge. For myself, I think we need a formidable striker and centre midfield. A true box to box midfielder that can dominate the centre. And of course someone for the right wing. The scary thing is Campos is our highest paid player and I can't see any team buying him off us. I don't see how we can be talking about titles when Olympiakos spends 10 million on players like it's nothing, and we're lucky to spend 2 million.1 point

Karelis came on as a substitute in the 78th minute and scored the winner in the 88th against Sint Truiden over night. He's up to 3rd top scorer with 6 goals from 10 matches.1 point

They had 2 good years in competition, whereas we ve had 2 very very bad years in competition. We ve done 5 wins in a row (2 of them in friendlies) and we ve climbed a total of 8 or 10 spots if i remember correctly. They deserve to be above us. Also i cant rate greece at the 15 mark. A 25 one would be both realistic and enough for pot 2. How sad can it be that from the top 30 teams, like at least 20 of them are European. And people cry about Europe taking too many spots in the WC draws. Edit: Just searched it. in the top 30 , 19 teams are European. Daymn I was spot on. Also just for the recored, in the top 50, 28 teams are European. 28 out of the 54 total European teams recognized by Fifa are in fact in the top 50. Thats more than half. And people are crying that Europe is taking so many spots. Like, rest of the world are you even trying?1 point

We lost the game because we had no midfield in the second half. Taking Canas off was stupid particularly as his replacement Xarisi is substandard. He was completely to blame in 2nd goal. Ivic has to bite the bullet. Do you want to be a reactive coach whose moves are based on your opponent? Or do you pick your team to get a result against anybody? There is nothing to fear in the Greek league. So far he has been far too negative in my book1 point
