Last year it was Douvikas. Now Pavlidis is this season's Eredivisie top scorer (joint with Luuk de Jong of PSV) with 29 goals. He is the 4th Greek to be the top scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie. AZ qualified for next years EL LS. And this probably was his last match/year at the club from Alkmaar.

I can't believe it, this doesn't feel real.... Considering where we were a month ago I could not have dreamed that we would win 4 derbies in a row to win the league. Congrats to the team, all the players, Savvidis, and especially the greatest coach in our history RAZVAN LUCESCU! In terms of where it ranks, I maybe a prisoner of the moment but I think this one slightly trumps 18-19. Obviously that one was brilliant, drought breaking and undefeated was really special. But this seasons league had all 4 teams go deep into the title race. All 4 where in the race up to their eyeballs with just 3-4 games to play. Although it seems nobody posts here anymore, I know some of you still visit (no doubt to read up on how PAOK is getting on). Most people (including us) wanted Aris to win it and bring both trophies to Thessaloniki but after yesterday I think we will be cheering on PAO. Your players tackling ours from behind, fans signing anti-PAOK songs the entire game, Mantzios not even congratulating PAOK for the title - you really are a small and pathetic club. What a night! Not only did we win it, but we did it in OARIS' backyard as well. This really is for everyone, the players, us, Savvidis and most of all Lucescu. Now let's finally qualify and play Champions League football.

Unexpected my ass, I honestly thought we'd win it from the beginning 😉 This is going to be one to savor for a while. It really should not have gone down to the last game; we made this harder on ourselves than we should have. I really hope Lucescu doesn't suddenly get an unbelievable offer that makes him leave again. The team can definitely plug the holes that exist, replace some expiring contracts, and be even better next year. Also - what a job by Lucescu. He dragged them kicking and screaming to one of the most impressive seasons the club has ever had, with a team that was weirdly flawed from the beginning.

Like I said, easy. 😁

This championship is one to savour. Given the pessimism at the beginning of the season due to our chaotic transfer period (is it ever not chaotic) and all of the predictions of we'll finish 4th, I'll take it. I won't get into comparisons with the 2018/19 team as the two squads did the job in different ways. We peaked at the right time (well not so much at the beginning of the play offs), winning 4 derbies to finish and overall I think we were probably the most consistent team this season. I'm happy for some players in the squad, especially Vierinha and Schwab who may not be with us next season. Schwab has given his all and has been a very good player for us and has stepped up on many occasions to lift the team. Time to celebrate this most unexpected championship.

I think Meite is pretty good! He solves almost all of the issues we had with players like Esiti - Meite can legitimately control the ball and attack. It's just the speed that he lacks. Which is kind of inevitable when you're a huge dude...

I was talking about this with our podcaster friend - in some ways it is more impressive. We played so many more games, with what I think is a worse team...in a superleague that is the most competitive it's probably ever been. If it's not the best, it's a close second..

You might be right. We played the other big 3 and the simpolites 4 times each this season and we did the trick in the last match away in an hostile environment.

Now that the season is over, it would be fun to look back at some of this past season's signings and re-evaluate them. Good (imo): Taison, Despodov, Baba Ok: Meite, Ekong Bad: Samatta (bleh), Marcus Antonio (?) Jury is still out: Otto Thoughts? I know I missed some and I don't watch every match so my impressions may be way off.

Dare I say that this was a more impressive achievement than the 2018-2019 season? I think the first one is much more "special" due to the long wait and undefeated record, but the level of competition this year was just a notch higher.

They just showed what I think is the team bus, and it is, uh, not able to make much progress hahaha

We are the champions .... I am drunk from happiness right now. This is the 4th PAOK championship in my lifetime. Hope there will be more. I was wearing the PAOK jersey with Vieirinha name on the back during the game. I think I will keep it on going to a Greek church picnic later on.
