Ziaka Posted October 17, 2005 Share Posted October 17, 2005 On Thursday PAOK plays the first in the sgroups tage of the UEFA Cup against Shakhtar Donetsk. Following the big win against Olympaikso, PAOK players go into the game with good spirits. Shakhtar is a tough team, which is still undefeated in the Ukrainian championship. The team's best game so far was probably against Olympiakos where a number of main players inc. zagorakis, futhcine etc did not play! I wonder whether this is insignificant or it demonstrates a point. The fact is that the younger players who played instead did really well. Do you think Kostikos we start them against the Ukranians? The other thing is that Paok having lost the glow of the past era, tends to overestimate the opponents. Metalourg for instance was a noticeable team but nothing more, yet they really struggle to get past it where, i think they should have sailed through. Shaktar is a strong opposition without a doubt, as you would expect from all teams at this level to be, but i think a good paok should be able to claim a victory. We will most likely play a 4-4-2 system with the following players: 1 - Fernadez 4 - Akyel, Udese, Hasiotis, Charalambous 4 - Balafas, Zagorakis, Iliadis, Konstantinidis 2 - Mieciel, Salpiggidis I think we will see Shikabala playing in the 2nd half for sure.
